I mean I'd hate to think they'll never expand or build a new area at some point. Especially if it means they'll have to start yanking things down in order to put stuff up. Hopefully it doesn't come to that for a while though.
-
I believe you I've just never seen that. Every time I see someone go through fast pass the op does that little wrist gesture like "let me see em"
-
@SonofBaconator I love that idea you should do it!
-
Oh you better believe they'll be checking for the wristbands they charge like $80 on top of admission for.

^thanks for this post, interesting stuff!

Sat in the front with my wife a couple weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure that was the best experience I've ever had riding that coaster. It honestly reminded me of what it felt like to ride it when I was a kid.
-
Little update to this for now I've decided to go with magnets because they're cheap and useful. I do wish they were a little higher quality. Kind of surprised me how many of them on display are damaged and sun faded. I think I might also pick up a coffee mug or two this season.

If I understand correctly, does that basically mean that by 8/5, they only expect to have the footers done that we see in the first set of blueprints? Based on previous years, does that give any clues to anyone on when we might see an announcement? I'm not sure how far along they usually are before announcing, but I was under the impression that they seem to time it so the ride is announced around the time they are ready to start vertical construction. Based on this, do you guys think we may be looking at around the end of August for the reveal event?
-
Sorry for the double post here, but we do know that the coaster has a 301 foot drop based on calculations done by members of this forum at least, and the blueprint does show the train model in the diagram which looks like the standard b&m giga train.
-
I'd guess it means the document was detailed/accurate enough for it's purpose, but not for actual construction. I don't think it changes anything. @BSBMX any thoughts?

HUGE announcement from BGW!

I wish Kings Island would do stuff like this. People have been over the reasons they think the park have waited so long to tease this ride ad nauseum on this forum, and I understand the points people are making, but it still just feels weird to have something so obvious going on in the park, and have literally no hype from CF at all. It's just dissapointing at least for me. Especially since they knew darn well the enthusiasts would know a great deal about this coaster very quickly. -
I'd also like to take a trip out there but the wife has other plans for us this year. I really hope it's a great day for you though! I'd be prepared for it to possibly be busy just because the park has really been slammed lately.
-
Wow I've never had someone push past me like that. I have had people try to pull the cutting by inches thing in places where the line starts to get kind of jumbled though like the top of the stairs on DB. Most of the time when I see people jump the lines, they just cut through all the empty switchbacks to get to their group. I always want to say something but it feels super awkward because no one else does.
-
"Line jumping can result in ejection from the park" Doesn't do anything unless there are people there to enforce it. Kings Island needs to step up their game this season, because it's becoming a problem. KI isn't LaRonde, CF should try to keep it that way.
-
I'm curious if anyone is noticing more line-jumping this season? I went from seeing very few incidents last year, to seeing it like 4-5 times a visit this year. It's always the same, a group of teens are in line nearby me, and one of them stumbles up to the line entry and is called by their friends to jump in line with them. About a month ago I saw it 4 times in one line for Mystic Timbers, and then again maybe 20 minutes later 2 times at Diamondback. I'm sure it happens every year to an extent, but this year it really does seem like a bit of a problem. It's always funny when it happens too because everyone they jumped in front of is always looking around like "Is somebody going to stop this person from cutting in front of me?!". Not that I blame them.

I'd say chances are high. If you don't do it when you're installing an attraction that costs millions, when are you gonna do it, you know? Obviously I don't know what they're actually going to do, but I do think they'll make that area look nicer. A brand new Giga in that area as it is now would just look weird. On the other hand, I think just the new station and signage for the Giga will do something all on it's own to make the area look better. This is a great suggestion. Last time I rode that thing later in the evening I noticed those lights were looking reeeeaaal rough.
-
Oh really? May have to reconsider my July 4th plans I always just assumed it would be slammed as hell.

@Wolf Like Me I do know what you mean, sometimes things get a little more heated than you'd think they should on a message board dedicated to something fun like an Amusement park, but honestly to emphasize what you yourself said, most people on here are super cool, and really even some of the people that are getting irritated here and there are cool most of the time. I think people are just getting annoyed because the thread keeps looping over the same topics again and again. I think people are just anxious to see some new information to talk about. Anyway, welcome back! Hope you stick around.

Unfortunately they aren't related to the new coaster. @KIghostguy posted last night and said they've had those since at least 2017, which he knows since he's been working at the Emporium since then.

I really do think it will be somehow tied into a military/space theme. If you look at the blueprints it even looks like the station has a crest similar to the "Bureau of Paranormal Activity" one that FoF has. It's such a small area of the park that I really do think it makes sense to give it a coherent theme. Also, if they do go that direction, it will be the first time they've done so since 1996. Diamondback and Mystic Timbers seem to loosely fit with Rivertown, Banshee and The Bat seem to fit well together, I don't see why they wouldn't try to make the two rides that will be in that area mesh together somehow.
-
For sure! I hope they end up just keeping some of those around for Haunt because that really would be cool.
-
I'm not saying that I think you're wrong here, but I really hope you are. I can totally see the logic behind getting rid of Invertigo (despite the fact that I actually like that ride), but Congo falls would be sorely missed by myself and my family. The park gets so darn hot in the summer and Congo Falls is a surefire place to get cooled off. I wouldn't be happy if they removed it...especially if they just ended up putting a wing or something in it's place. Now, if it was a ground up RMC we can talk.
-
I was afraid someone was going to say that, can't say I'm really surprised though. Thanks! I knew someone on here would have an answer. That would be a cool name.

I really don't think they're building B&M coasters because of the proximity to CSF. It's a nice bonus, but they're building them because of all the reasons that are mentioned time after time throughout this forum: they're reliable, people like them, and they chew through lines like crazy. You're definitely right, Kings Island will continue to build B&M coasters, but I do think they also understand variety in attractions is super important for a well rounded park. I think KI will get a B&M Dive or wing at some point, no question. I also think chances are good that the next coaster after Project X will probably be something other than a B&M. Time will tell I suppose.

^Definitely wouldn't be a bad name at all if they had kept it. Still not completely sold it's going to be as simple as Polaris or Orion though. Were you the one that mentioned earlier that they trademarked a bunch of stuff before Mystic Timbers and Banshee and none of them were the names? Honestly that gives me hope. I do kind of like Polaris but I just feel like it needs something else.
