  1. This kind of got flooded out when I posted it before so I wanted to see if anyone had any insights on this, I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering, lol.
  2. Yeah, I think I may just go this route. So much stuff could come up for me between now and August it's probably better to just go sooner when I know I can actually make it and just get the FL. Can't wait!
  3. Judging by many of the last few CF additions, and given this is the biggest project to hit the park since 09, I'm hoping to see a pretty decent amount of theming there next year when Polaris (or whatever it ends up being called) opens. I have a hard time seeing them just open up this new ride, and have the rest of the area looking sort of bland the way it does today, so I'm guessing we will see FoF spruced up a bit on the outside and maybe some additional theming throughout that area. Seeing as it looks like there is a good chance Project X also has sort of a sci-fi or space theme, I think it makes sense to try and tie the rides together somehow at least in a loose sense. Fingers crossed they really knock the theming out of the park on this one, It would be sad to see them backtrack especially on such a major attraction. As far as the floats, I thought they were storing them in that new structure they put up, is that what you're referring to? As of right now, I'm having a hard time seeing X-Base becoming it's own area of the park in the same way that AZ is. It's still a pretty small area and as far as I can tell it doesn't look to me as if they're going to be able to fit much more back there after the new attraction, could be wrong though. That being said since it really doesn't fit in at all with the whole turn of the century midway theme, I do think it will be made to feel as if it's a distinct area of the park.
  4. Same that blue really catches the light well it should look super nice in the skyline.
  5. I've been thinking the same thing and God I hope that they do it.
  6. I think the general consensus is we should be looking for something shortly after Carnivale is finished.
  7. I was also thinking this, still I'm sure they could do something to spice up the name.
  8. Of the two I prefer Polaris for sure, but I'm kind of hoping there's a bit more to it than that.
  9. So I asked something to this effect earlier in the thread but I want to be able to plan accordingly and didn't see much information last time so: Based on previous new announcements, how much time in advance does KI usually give notice for an announcement event? Also, a guy I used to work with somehow seems to manage to make it to events where he is able to ride new coasters before the park opens. How do you go about getting access to events like that? Is it a coaster club thing or something?
  10. So I'm planning my first trip back to Cedar Point since like..2000. Since I missed spring, whats the next best time to hit the park? Should I wait until sometime in August?
  11. So I've been to the park twice since Grand Carnivale started and the crowds are NUTS! Last Tuesday really felt like a weekend almost. I don't remember it being this crowded this time last year, is Carnivale really bringing in this many people? Or is it just more that we're getting towards the middle of the summer. Just curious what everyone thinks.
  12. I mean yeah that happened yesterday, but I feel like for the most part this thread has slowed to a crawl, so I wouldn't say that's a common issue. There have been WAY more days where I come home and check the thread and we've barely filled another page. I agree that spitballing about "what comes next" is off topic, but I also don't think we're going to spend the next month trying to guess what color the trains will be. People are going to have to get somewhat creative to keep a dialogue going.
  13. Does it bother you that much that this thread is still open? If the mods are reading, I would prefer this thread stays open until the Announcement. There's still a good chance we'll see a teaser campaign and while some of the people on this thread clearly have no interest in talking about that, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I do. If this thread is so bothersome to some of you guys, why do you keep coming in here?
  14. Just curious, why do you think this?
  15. ^Would you say something like a 4 hour wait is going to be a common scenario for this thing? This is the first time I've ever followed a new attraction like this so I don't really know what it's going to be like. I know by 2018, Mystic Timbers lines didn't seem that bad at all, no idea what they were like year one though.
  16. so...is this going to be a ride that we probably aren't going to be able to get on much for the first year or so?
  17. I'm not sure If I could handle that...that sounds brutal as hell, especially for something that will be over in a minute or two
  18. Ok well I'm glad they didn't go with The Swoops. That sounds like some kind of tropical disease you have to get vaccinated for before going to Southeast Asia or something...lol
  19. I'm just stating that in my opinion, people complaining about the new coaster is getting old. You don't have to agree. You can give your opinions, I can give mine.
  20. The whole debbie downer thing is just getting a bit old IMO. Not really that big a deal I know.
  21. Oof...that's embarrassing
  22. All right to be fair maybe I was being a little harsh there. Still though, I really don't have any trouble understanding why things could be difficult there right now, and I do think it'll improve over time.
  23. I've been going to this park since I was a child. My first times visiting were before Paramount, and I would argue that the overall quality of the experience at the park has increased drastically over the last 10 years or so. A big part of the reason your thoughts aren't being welcomed the way you may have expected they would is because A.) You're making mountains out of molehills IMO, and B.) This really shouldn't have been posted in the "trip reports" section as there is an entire thread devoted to *****ing about park food service. While I don't any longer, I spent much of my adult life working in the restaurant industry, so I know how this goes. the Brewhouse has only just opened. Regardless of your opinions about how the customer is always right and the experience should always be perfect no matter what, any time a new restaurant opens it will get a huge influx of customers (maybe the most it will ever have at one time) during a period where the people running it will have the least experience in doing so. I've been to the park many many times already during this season, and most of the time that place is pretty packed. There will be growing pains, and the staff will be INCREDIBLY overwhelmed. I've worked at a few very busy restaurants and just from my experience I can tell you that working in one built into a amusement park with tons of guests would be a NIGHTMARE even before you consider that EVERYONE working there has never worked in that place before. I mean honestly your post just came off as kind of annoying because you sounded like you were ready to fight someone over there not being any ketchup on your table, or honey mustard in the store. Everyone likes to **** on servers, but I promise you it's all WAY HARDER than you think. When you have multiple tables, it can be a big challenge keeping drinks filled and making sure everyone has what they need. I also get ****ed sometimes when I'm getting truly ****ty service, but I do think it's important to take into account what's going on around you. People expect perfect service, but the REALITY of the situation is that that's not always possible. Give it to the middle of the season or so, and I'd be willing to bet the service there improves. At least by next season, I would imagine it will be a pretty well oiled machine, but this is NOTHING NEW. Every new restaurant experiences these kinds of challenges, and this is why when something new opens I don't check it out until AT LEAST a couple months have gone by. If this kind of thing really bugs you this much, I suggest you do the same.
  24. I'm not sure I buy that missing ketchup bottles and a shortage of honey mustard constitutes the kind of issue some of the people on this thread seem to think it does...
  25. I think @fryoj is right on this, it's safety. I really don't see how protecting the "rights" they own to videos of their coasters is a concern for them in any way. If it was there would be a lot of Youtube channels out there right now with copyright strikes from CF. Keeping a bunch of jackasses from accidentally tossing phones off of Diamondback or Wind seeker on the other hand...yeah I can see why they wouldn't want that.
