  1. How would they enforce an outright ban, metal detectors like SV?
  2. Crowds not too bad today. Seemed like FoF was down at the start, but other than that everything is running smoothly.
  3. Just had a bit of rain and few lightning strikes. Wonder if anything was affected.
  4. Very rarely do the ops not ask to see my band. Course I usually have it ready to be flashed anyway. Some just give me a headbob as I usually have my wrist up to show it. I actually saw them turn away a couple from the Fast Lane on The Beast. I assume they had the non-plus version because I saw they had wristbands. I'm sure it happens though because on Saturday there was no op on Invertigo and I was the only one in Fast Lane so I just went on. There was a big line in GP, so perhaps they were doing something in that direction?
  5. Been going nearly every weekend since the park opened (think I only missed opening due to the weather) but may change that up and go on the 4th going by the current discussion. Busy or not never really influences me, but I got the day off work so why not?
  6. Must've been a power issue. I can see the park from my place (just the top of Eiffel Tower and either Drop Tower/wind seeker I honestly dunno which) and my power was out when I got off work. It came back on @ 4, so very possible that was the case.
  7. Think the whole line assignment has been the only negative aspect I've experienced in the park. It's annoying, but obviously it's something they've done for a while and isn't going away. It has led to some head scratcher moments, but I understand it's probably a stressful job that I certainly don't envy. I dunno if it's the norm as I don't ride The Bat as often as other rides (no fastlane and it takes forever to walk down that path just to get into the line) but the times I've gone on it, it didn't even have a separator and everything seem to go just fine. It's been a few trips since I rode it last though.
  8. Looks pretty busy today. Praise be to the Fastpass! Can't seem to find the DB thread, but it was closed for a bit early in the morning. After riding MT and Beast it did seem to be running. Funny I saw them testing empty trains as I rode The Beast, so the whole time I was distracted hoping it'd open ha ha. Rode it back-to-back when I saw that. Both times since I'm a perpetual single rider I/the guy I shared the row with were asked if we minded. Can't recall that happening too often this season. The only lengthy wait I had with FP was on Delirium. I rode it right when it opened at 10 (so maybe the 2nd or 3rd train) but came back around 1 and FP was backed up pretty far. From where I was standing it almost seemed like it would've been quicker as GP, but that's because they were looping in their own maze. All the 'big boy' coasters had pretty large lines. Probably the longest line I've ever seen for Banshee since I started going this season. Up until today I wasn't sure if season-long FP was worth it. Maybe not before July, but if today is anything like it'll be until Labor Day... yeah I'm glad I went all in.
  9. Honestly I'd just get fastlane for the day so the crowd shouldn't matter. If nothing else it's worth it alone just to bypass the line for Steel Vengeance. Unless you take your chances that it's up and running for early entry. I've gone twice this season and the first day SV wasn't open till 12 or so. Granted this was the first week, so it was having issues. I didn't bother with it until after 10 on my second go, so no idea if it was open when they let us in. Didn't wanna pass the few coasters that were open only to find it closed and waste time making my way back towards the front. MF went down shortly after early entry on both my trips, so if I decide to go a 3rd time before summer ends I think I'm just gonna marathon it for the hour until it shuts down lol... Weekdays seem okay in August going by isitpacked.
  10. It's actually kinda funny. The first time I rode MT I didn't like it and thought it would be better if they removed the shed element entirely. By ride 2 onwards I grew to enjoy it. So yesterday I rode it with the issues it's having, so basically getting what I wanted originally and I was disappointed to no projector. Be careful what you wish for lol!
  11. Probably won't work on FoF as I saw a tall dude doing the walk of shame today. Guess it's not good to have your knees touching your teeth,
  12. Was there earlier today. Busier than last Sunday. Also just realized I can see the tip of the Eiffel Tower/WindSeeker from my balcony!
  13. Mystic was weird today. Didn't get to ride it last week, so I was excited to get another try today. Don't recall the voice over on the lifehill and there was no wait going into the shed. No radio or Coke machine light. Nothing happened on the projector either as we went straight into and out of the shed as if it was just regular track. Wonder if something was up?
  14. Today marked my 5th visit to KI and I've been on The Beast each time. Tested out the mythical 17th row and it seemed way smoother than my other rides.
  15. Obviously things can change and it's usually not super busy first thing after opening, but the parking lot seemed especially dead when I arrived today. Got there @ 10 and think there was only one other car in the check-in gates. Everything was walk on and didn't bother with fastlane. Things can change sure, but seems like a great day for those who were on the fence. Went on DB back-to-back, so that was cool. Both times the train before me had a walk of shame. First time I witnessed that and it happened two times! Would really suck for them if that happened on a super busy day only to get bounced. Hope everyone enjoyed their time if they went today.
  16. Sometimes they've asked me if I mind sitting next to someone when I say it's just me/one. I do like having a row to myself just for the extra room. Though at the same time it does kinda hurt my feelings when it's obvious someone doesn't wanna sit next to me. Poor third friend always drawing the short straw with their group.
  17. I use a fanny for my KI trips (I only have a few things in it, but don't want them falling out) and haven't had an issue on any rides with it. There's always the bins if it does become an issue.
  18. I went last Thursday and didn't bother with SV during early entry since reddit said it's been having issues. I rode MF and Maverick. MF seemed to go down once it opened to GP, so I'm glad I got to ride it at least once. Around 1030 they started doing tests on SV with a HUGE crowd lined up. I grabbed a fastlane and hung out by that entrance until they made an announcement that it was down and they dunno when. Didn't seem like anyone moved from the line, but I gotta outta there. Came back around noon or later and got on. Totally worth it, but next time I visit I'm not even gonna bother until later in the day. Course with a FL you don't really need to wait around in sleeping bags like all the other park goers were. I'm #allin with fastlane so I'll never not have it on me when I go to Cedar Fair parks. Raptor and WT were down, but managed to get on TTD but the weather was pretty perfect. No wind and it was around 65-70. I hear it being right on the water makes it a gamble no matter what google weather says.
  19. Rode the Viking today for the first time. I've been on it at other parks, so it wasn't a priority in my past visits. Dunno if it was up and running any of my other visits since today was the first time I've seen it in motion.
  20. I expected it to be a lot busier since it was a 3-day weekend. The only ride that I could even justify my FLP was MT. And even then it would've probably been 20 minutes tops. If I didn't already have the season loaded onto my Gold Pass I wouldn't have even bothered to use it. Though I think after 3 visits I know which rides are at the top of my list and which I can do without.
  21. Went for a few hours today. A LOT busier than when I went the first time around. Only rode 6 coasters before heading home. Course the app wasn't able to take me to my car, so I spent a good hour crisping in the sun trying to find it. Since I missed Invertigo last time I did it first thing here. Sat in the front seat and wow that was a lotta fun. Diamondback... I feel I got real lucky here. As I was waiting in the fastpass lane they did a few empty test runs and then I got in the actual line. When my train got back they made an announcement that it's down for now, but you can stay in line if you wanna yadda yadda. No idea if it started running when I left, but glad I got to go on it at least. Didn't like Mystic or Beast much the first visit, so I gave them a reride. Mystic's pre-shed was pretty good. And we went inside it a lot sooner (or it felt anyway) than when I rode it the first time so I wanna say it probably was delayed for some reason. Or I'm just bad at timing and it was the same amount. Beast was better the second go. I liked the initial and anything in the tunnels. Backlot... was not nearly as fun the second time. Perhaps since it was my first ride in nearly a decade that bumped it up in the "will ride again list" but after doing it again it's sliding down to the "maybe I don't need to every again" ha. Since I was burning up, didn't seem like Banshee or Vortex were up (at least at a glance) and every food line was pretty backed up I decided to leave early. Glad I got Fastlane for days like today. Now they just need to implement a food and beverage version... Between Cedar Point on Thursday and KI on Saturday, I'm parked out!
  22. Haven't been since my original trip, but plan to stop by after work (3ish) today and see if I can ride the coasters I enjoyed last time. Maybe try Invertigo if it's available this time. Also upgraded to a platinum pass so I can make a few CP trips this season too.
  23. Been lurking for a few weeks now, so I guess I'll report in. I went to KI for the first time this past Saturday. Wanted to go last week, but the rain scared me away both days. Past few years I've been trying to convince myself to get a gold pass, but never got around to it. This year I moved really close to the park (literally 5-10 minute drive) so I decided to make the plunge. Don't really have anyone to go with and decided to go solo. Was quite pumped as I hadn't been to a theme park since 2010 when the family last went to CP. I didn't stay too long. I got there at opening and headed back home around 2. I rode most of the coasters, although Invertigo was down so that'll have to be another day. I gotta say I LOOOOOOOOVE the app. Marked my spot helped me a ton. I'd probably still be searching as we speak if not for it. It also helped me locate the rides. Although I suppose as I go more often I'll look at it less and enjoy the scenery more. I liked Backlot, Diamondback, Banshee, FOF, Bat, and Vortex. I did ride Mystic, Adventure, Beast and Racer but thought they were just okay. I think Mystic was good up until the shed so that kinda soured me on it. It wasn't even the disappointment inside so much that it felt like we were waiting forever to go inside. Not sure if that was the normal part of the ride or if there was an extra delay. Gonna see if I like them better the second go round. Also rode Delirium and Drop Tower. Those were really fun and gotta admit I was kinda scared sitting at the top of Drop Tower as we waited to go back down. Caught me by surprise as I was totally not ready. Ate twice once at Jukebox and then had a Cinnabon as I exited the park. It was an enjoyable 4-5 hours to be sure. The fastlane helped somewhat I think, but I'm not sure if splurging for the season-long one was worth the price since I'm so close to the park and can go whenever. Did get asked about it when I sat next to a few people on rides, so that was cool.
