yes they are self insured for internal things in the park. But they still would have to have some sort of firm they go through for external things such as construction, injured guests, anything that has to be filed as an accident.

Once during mystics construction they were down for a day and when they came back up we were introduced to mystic cam.

In no way am I 100% on this theory. From doing some video work for a construction company i know insurance plays a huge amount. Cedar Fair as a chain might have made this call. And yes the cam was up for Banshee. We also knew how much Banshee costed, we know Cedar Fair has stopped dropping the price tags so things change inside chains. If even a tool was dropped from that height (very unlikely everything is tethered to the worker) that could be a clip that would be tweeted from the enthusiasts. Not 100% but it isnt an impossible theory. And the whole, different construction team different project different park. Well maybe there insurance is different as well and may not allow it. Makes me wonder is Cedar Fair as a whole under one insurance firm or does each park have their own. Anyone know?

I dislike the drone thing a lil bit. The drone isnt illegal in anyway. But rules are rules i guess... It just sucks that someone is flying a drone and sharing the photos, And im excited to fly my drone when i go down in a few weeks. Im 100% gonna fly it but wont be able to share it any of it with you on here and it just sucks that the people we pay has a say and can message the mods of this site. The risk of injury drops dramatically after the lift. After every hill they go back to the ground. Some of the layout with the speed hill is on the ground. The heaviest pieces are the lift sections. Making it harder... and then they are also the tallest.

State Farm didnt want any video of workers, falling, dropping anything. They takin zero chance cause we are farmers ba da dum dum dum
