  1. star trek ideas really turn me off.
  2. personally, I like my own. I liked several of them, however, though many people said mine was too expensive, and unrealistic, i would like to know who it was that said that, i even had preventative maintenance, and a prototype restraint system, on teh 8 abreast train, sure it would take a while to check bars, but look, it fits 64 people at a time, almost double that of beast, beast has a 108 people total for all trains together, this one has 128 Racer and recaR have what? 60 each? 120 overall for entire attraction... Delirium is 50 face off is about 28? 48 on Top Gun thus making the Indiana Jones I have coined, quite a high capacity ride, making hourly capacity about 1280, that is nice! and beast shoots up to 1296, which is a slight overage of "IJtLRtE" this would be a wonderful addition, it would be a wonderful ride in place of the pond across from the IJ:ST Restrooms aka the rivertown one. DANG IT, I JUST READ THE STIPULATAION OF THE DO NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF! well, i revote... Alien Seed's Tomb Raider: Fury of the Gods This would be excellent!
  3. im not too eager for IJST, but i am eager to witness the innovative ride that it is, i will definitely ride, however i know it truly wont be that thrilling, maybe it has a smaller height restriction, meaning that it will be quite extreme for some children, maybe the 48 or a 42 possibly, maybe not.
  4. OMG! apparently some of the people on this board want whaa-burgers and french cries... look, the focus in not entirely on the ride itself, but on innovation... think of bigger rides, known for "Speed" and "Height" The Raven Roller Coaster was inventive, it was a smaller sized roller coaster designed in the big size boom! it made up for size with speed, woods, and Airtime! the point is, though it was shunned due to size, it was reknown for the Airtime! look at Son of Beast, it was inventive, Tallest, Fastest, Steepest, Looper... hmm, too much effort made this somehow unusually rough for most people... <sigh> another example, take the legend, the second wooden coaster at Holiday World, it features the world's First Spiral Drop <1>, it is followed by an extreme bunny hill<2> and all of this was placed on the hilly terrain near and around a log flume, squished and contorted to fit the area! The Racer was not a major idea to turn the trains backwards, it was simply taking them off, and putting them back on... this increased ride excitement, and created a new thrill, no change to the ride, but innovative for the ride itself! the Flat Rides of Today are completely Artistic at Times: Zamperla Flying Carousel, While at times, just plain thrilling: Delirium, dont start a tangent on this about how it is attractive, i agree that it is! however, it was just the ride itself painted, the flying carouselss however are art panels placed around the ride to disguise it, the ride is not that thrilling, but amazing to look at as a rider or a spectator. Innovation can also mean theming! TRTR wouldnt be nearly par of now if it werent for being enclosed or the theming! it makes it ten times better, but i would ride regardless! again with IJST, nothing new really except the trains themselves, people are so hooked on the normal coasters... Vekoma, B&M, Intamin, GCII, and so on, they lose the sight that most of these were at times quite rare items, now they are everywhere! just look and you can find a major brand at almost every park! PKI has some Arrow/Vekoma stuff, and PKI certainly loves their share of Intamin, except *cough* the worlds largest paper weight doesnt make anyone happy... TTD! i hear it rarely runs, but whatever. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom has a few of the Vekoma, a Maurer Sohne, B&M, Schwarzkopf, they are really doing well with variety, but they havent got that great a park, and its rundown, need new paint! back on track! the main idea here is innovation, though i may have been noted for wanting copies of rides in other parks, i need to bite my tongue in saying, shove off, lets get something new... ...as a closing point, i would like to add that the Scooters Rides whether you call them "The FLYers" "Flying Eagles" or "Eagle's Flight" they are the same innovative ride from the mid to late 1930's it was said that both PKI's (aka PC's) and HW's were made about the same time, 1936, this is a remarkable life span, not only is this ride a major innovation of its time, and a great thrill ride, not baby ride... Steam! it was also revered as the "big ride" for most parks, the big hot flat ride to get was scooters! sure a coaster was cood, but this time of age, they were major expensive, way more comparatively than now! the reason most parents think it is a kiddy ride is that it doesnt go up, tilt, go fast, etc. this was not designed for that, it was designed for its innovative need for just the right amount of speed to make a float and sanp, and more snapping, when you see horror stories, I have, of snapping gone bad, you begin to think about it a little, typically, the reason for this, is poor maintenance and it forces the smaller parks to enforce no snapping rules or at least post them. 1> Spiral Drop- A Curving "Dive Drop" that the radius of the curve increases as the height decreases, increasing the positive G-Forces, and Decreasing Laterals. 2> Bunny hill- Small hill after a much larger one, causes airtime... those are my two cents for now for this topic, im out! Thanks!
  5. problem: PKI and B&M do you see the error? Chang, Mantis's Sister Coaster, is at SFKK, it is excellent, the rush is excellent, this is the only ride i will purposefully want myself stapled in on. ha ha i like the support of stapling on Chang, it feels better. swinger6, did you staple yourself? i cant think of any but one ride that i rode and wasnt stapled in. I love playing Coaster-Ride-Operator Tag! the ops at chang were funny, she would play tag and like tag my back and run, she was funny. ha ha we tagged i think 25 different people in an hour that day, our first goal was to ride as much stuff, but tagging was second! FUN TIMES!
  6. i hate teh old "a guy died on this ride" story, honks me off, UH, Snapper, Swinger6?
  7. if i had the funds, i would take it off their hands
  8. wood shouldnt be that tall.. shu'up
  9. Raven and Legend in the Rain! oh my! they are insane! and beast is great too!
  10. Okay i have never ridden KING COBRA, but i have been on a standup Coaster before, it was excellent, were the trains bad? the track looked okay, A> Could it be refurbished and installed near FoF? or behind Action theater? B> If this is done, would it be good to have the same trains? or would it be better with B&M style ones, i have heard that the japanese make shorter statured trains, and a friend of mine was hurt on it every time! --- I would love to just go back in time, and ride KC, it looked like fun! and i heard it was the first successful stand up in the world! or the US or something... --- Feedback? Questions?
  11. my house is going to go scuba diving
  12. i mean seriously, i want to go to Nevada just for those rides! the two that are 900 feet up!
  13. B&M stand ups are excellent! Chang Rocks! it too is a tear jerker! ride up front! i like to staple myself anywhere on it, and hang your head low and just relax all muscles... it forces drooling, it cracks me up!
  14. inverted centrifuge! 900 ft.
  15. my first trip started at recaR, Monster, FoF, Eagles, Vortex, Drop Zone, Congo Falls, Beast, Eagles, Zephyr, FoF, Met a hooker at Face/Off, met some nice people(co-riders on Face/Off) and went to Gun, SOB, Delirium, then went to Beast, Action theatre, then Eagles, Ship, SDATHC, AE, RRR, Beastie, nutbuster, Beast, Eagles, Vortex, about to do Racer but went to Beast and rode on final rides that night, it was cool, it was the fourth ride i have ridden that will give me a tear-jerker! i rode in the front alone, this was only a 10-10 day, and this a great day, neglecting the rain, it was extremely fun, i had a blast! i vistited again, and we did it semi-differently, but lots more walking, more of a Beast-Duhlee type back and forth ALL DAY! im not a big guy, im quite a skinny fella. walking is great, you dont need a transport ride aside from the train! the train is a nice ride... lets just say that i regularly attend a park that has no transport rides... and the park loops around, i will run around the park like crazy to ride cool stuff, it is great! the other i visit a lot has the opposite of a transport ride, they have a single 10 foot wide path over the highway that divides the park... they have some cool rides one of the better is on the main side, and the other cool ones are on the larger side across the highway. now finally, when i was a child i visited opryland three times maybe, i never understood the layout, but loved to ride the chairlift, it was great, however, it was very easy to get lost, parks without transport rides will be much better for the "lost member of group" situation, i can easily run around holiday world if i have been separated, and find that person within 30 minutes, im sure i could easily do PKI in an hour... but maybe SFKK in less than 1 hour, but more than 30 minutes... anybody else talented like that? im sure i have passed on that technique to swinger6
  16. Coasters: Mega Coaster - no OTSRs on this, Speed is the Key here! Floorless - exciting and thrilling, loops Galore! Medusa had 6... Flying - a fairly new experience for most guests... typically comes with a Pretzel Loop! Diver - though SheiKra is being installed, They look incredibly fun, and are a quite fresh experience I wouldnt like to see an inverted, since there is one nearby at CP, and since there are already 3 suspended/inverted coasters in the park... need something else A Stand-up would be nice, however since there is a great stand-up in Louisville, i dont see it happening, they are good, but have to be REALLY smoth, you seel every bump since your head is so far from the track... since the removal of KC, i bet there have been people who wanted a Stand up again... could they make a new one, with same theme? "King Cobra Strikes Back" having the same color scheme and all! If Vortex ever Leaves, i forsee A B&M Floorless, Stand-Up, or Flying Coaster, Vortex was about the loops, keep the area about the loops! if you build it, they will come. Another beautiful thing about B&M, you can build over Midways, well thats pertty much any coaster Mfg. but AIR at Alton towers has a half helix entirely above the path... its awesome! As For Flats: Nothing Vekoma! Huss (Rainbow) or Chance (Falling Star) or Zierer (Flying Carpet/suspended) Maybe the Huss Jump2 Tower, 12 Tub Scooters Ferris Wheel, Giant Wheel Tilt-a-Whirl Update for Zephyr Zamperla: Wind Shear Hawk-48 Disk'O or Rock'n'Tug the jump 2 could go in the clearing near Delirium... i believe the arrea is large enough... or near IJST or behind Action Theater... or out past FoF.
  17. Here is a look at some other stuff Raven Cost 2Million Legend Cost 3Million 1.7 for the ZOOMbabwe Waterslide 2.1Million for a 30,000 gal wave pool Raven Quote: "This classic coaster is a major surprise, partly because riders can't see what's comingâ€â€the woods are that thickâ€â€and partly because it gives world-class air time." â€â€The Cincinnati Enquirer It says it all!
  18. w00t for TR:TR:TS
  19. a> no lord of the rings, i would never return! b> SOB does hurt, we have ridden "non-axle" seats and whoa! hurt! Here... Action FX Theatre: why change it? TRTR: okay this does need work... hmm... "Journey: Earthquake" Tower: Eifel Tower, its not going to be recognized as anything else Drop Zone: Timber Tower... its near Timberwolf stadium Beast: it is nice as Beast, but Bandit? Lumberjack? Flying Eagles (lest we forget): why change it? is it a Paramount name!? AE: Tiki Express... lol Congo Falls: Waterfal Scream! Delirium: I like the sound of Delirium, or The Tornado Days of Thunder: The Race Karts Train: duh... Train Wild Thornberry's River Adventure: Wild Creek Log Ride Scooby's Ghoster Coaster: The Bat Vortex: Dragon Monster: The Monster, it is the Manufacturer's Set Name SOB: Journey to Death and Back Viking Fury: Viking Fury, why change it? Racer: Racer... its a Classic Slingshot: duh! Slingshot FOF: Nightmare Top Gun: The Wolf Face/Off: Hang-Over! WWC: Wild Canyon Rapids im not too great at this.. but ehh.
  20. if we are going to mention any Six Flags... lets consider Kentucky Kingdom, crap! the theming for "fright-fest" was extremely minimal, there was no "Elvira" as in past years there was, and there were haunted houses/trails, they enclosed the bumper cars and added strobe lights and fog to them... ...next, the theming, they went wild near the hellevator ride, and over where the bungee udes to be, there was a herse, but other than that nothing major, you had to use the old employee path to get to twisted twins as the "woods of the Wicked" was converted to a 'haunted area' and i dont even think they put much effort into it, there was a small childrens trick or treat trail near the kiddie train... and there were a few halloween characters running about, they looked stupid, and yet there was another hauntede house near the himalaya ride. the rest of the park had random coffins sorted around. and the operators were aloud to wear costumes, which many did, and it was confusing to find an actual ride opeartor and not a fool... wait, this is SFKK, they are all fools, not like others... altogether i thought PKI's FF was fantastic, i really liked The Vortex/racer lights, they should have been on, its not like it added to the effect, at all, but they are still very fun, and that interactive kiddie haunted door thing in HB-NC was pretty neat, we went all around it looking at mirrors and everything, it was cool, we even got our little pumpkins, funny stuff! we noticed when we went though, there were two inoperable rides... Face/Off, and RRR, and i know exactly why, Vekoma says not to run them in such weather, not that they are excellent coasters, but there are way better than T2, wow, rough, not as much so as SoB, but woo! hurt! One thing, next time, if i visit for FF again at PKI, i will definitely bring gloves, it was freaking COLD! i mean i almost was reluctant to ride anything due to how cold it was, we rode Fof TRTR Beast SOB TOP-GUN Vortex Troika recaR Eagles Beastie Delirium SS DZ:ST PTC-Grand-Carousel Train but several were repeats i know there were at least 3 beasts, 4 fofs, 4 duhlees, 2 Vortex i feel like there was more we did, but who really knows, i cant think well.
  21. I knew it!
  22. my 1st day, which might be my only day in the 2005 season i will most definitely hit every coaster at least once, and i hope to do slingshot again and maybe xsf, i need to try sob towards the front, and try ijst, i definitely need my giant huss fix duhlee, and trtr
  23. that is amazing, i would have guessed Flying Carpets, and Zephyr and Bat, but a> huge line for painful ride with problems b> double loading pads c> zephyr's queue was oriented a different direction d> sign above queue entrance e> skeeball is next to zephyr, and it sits to the right of it, not left, there was a path and some games We can rule out The 'Tiques, the building is not near that line, ther is a curve away, and would be in the center of that line, and since that ride would be hmm... So I say Zodiac which was replaced by Flight Commander which was replaced by EuroBungee which was taken out... Plus when Zodiac was taken out, Vortex was in, as stated previously, ZODIAC; FLIGHT COMMANDER; Vortex
  24. anybody ever gotten a tear jerker from a coaster... i onlyget them on four rides and all are for front seat except one... tear jerker in front seat, Raven - HW Beast - PKI Chang - SFKK sencond bench of entire train, best airtime: Thunder Run - SFKK whichever seat you pick on raven is enjoyable there is a wide variety of rides there, try the front for fast tear jerker action, and suspension... try the middle for the "whip around" or try the back for the best airtime around... though the legend has a more sudden pop of airtime, it has considerably less air that raven...
