The Park hasn't posted their calendar yet... but if I was a betting person, I would assume it will open in May. If auditions happened in December, and there has been no other announcements about more, it's probably safe to say that the window of opportunity has passed. But the good news is you know that Haunt auditions are normally in the summer, so that's a good way to get your foot in the door (no pun intended)

Also confused, but two thoughts... 1. Looks like this news may be confirmation that yes the merger plans are moving forward as planned, & closer to being achieved. 2. Could this basically be just news that shares of the newly formed company will be available to a select few? Lots of language in here that is most certainly legally mandated.

I like that idea. Even if there were no actors, it could be like the outdoor "scare zones" that Haunt has... but indoors since it's SO cold. A "wonderland zone" could be nice.

I remember a jingle from the 90s that said "Let yourself go to the waterpark"... very effective... I begged to go to the Park as a kid!

Reopening International Restaurant for sure. I never ate there, so all I know of it is second hand reports of it. I think people would really value the view! And getting out of the blazing heat. It doesn't have to be formal (was it? I assumed so). Make the menu similar to Brewhouse, and people will come.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about buying the Cedar Fair/Kings Island online gift cards as gifts. I see the exclusion that shows it can't be used online to buy passes. Any other exclusions I should know about? Any food stands or merch spots that don't accept these? Are Park associates typically trained on how to scan these? Thanks!

Hampton Inn in Mason isn't far, but no shuttles to the Park.

January was a no-spend/low-spend month for me. There's a rumor of a "mass layoff" at my job that will allegedly happen this quarter, so getting as best positioned for that as possible. Even if my group is not impacted, I believe that in the years to come, AI could very well take my job. Working toward being debt-free is a big goal. So, I've been doing a lot of fun stuff: binge watching TV & watching free movies. Also learning a lot from a reddit sub called "beer money" that looks at how to earn some spare change. Also writing a playscript that will be submitted to a publisher before opening day.

I wonder if they'll keep the part of the ride outside the theater like they did last year? Loved seeing that! Reading is fundamental, but it didn't keep some people from letting their kids crawl all over it...I think it was a rope & not enough of a deterrent for some... so I wonder if they will take more measures to ensure people will look but not touch...

love your screenname, buddy! no kids here - but I loved the Phantom show & that feeling definitely wouldn't have been there without the nostalgia factor.

Hey everyone! I've watched some YouTube videos of other parks... and I had no idea how different Kings Island was in terms of our spacing/green space... some other parks - like Hershey Park - have their rides, etc. packed so tightly together... or a ride is so close to the expressway... but Kings Island is to me, visually, like a breath of fresh air compared to those spaces That feature is one of the things that I truly love about Kings Island - all the green space that we have makes KI a truly remarkable place - and it gives me that relaxed feeling - that feeling that I can just breathe - when I start walking through the park. I hope that makes sense!

Dave_78, Your entire post reminded me of the Park's mission statement I was taught at PKIU- to make people happy by creating memories. I worked in Entertainment too (although much later). Isn't it powerful how a song - or even just a note - can strike a memory? Thanks for sharing for the "alums" in your era!
