I guess this solves the mystery of the blue track? (Haven't seen on any other threads)... I thought it was named Gatekeeper because of its deliberate positioning over the gate or something?
-
Well, that would explain the relative lack of woodpeckers in the vicinity. "knock knock knock knock knock knock knock knock eek! [spiral, spiral, spiral] thud!"

Mine was a bizarre dream that I was trying to show off the park to a friend of mine from out of state, but when we got to the park, Vortex was just a temporary carnival-model coaster, set up in the parking lot in front of SC. I mean it was very small and flimsy, and the loops were gone. Maybe, as dreams go, this was my subconscious reaction to SOB, with Vortex somehow filling the bill for Sonny.

Well, they should be okay, as long as the furniture is from Myrtle Beach... [edit] You know, because the new cars came from Hurricane, oh, forget it.

Hey, if you can put them into a slide show and reverse their order, you'll have something of a preview to share.

I like AE's return lift; it has the feel and charm of something that was built in the 30s (the "Temple of Doom decade").

^I think Son of Beast is moving to France? I can't imagine what will go in there next. If it were up to me, I'd build a sturdy, relatively low-maintenance (hybrid, maybe) twister coaster with lots of high-banking turns and twists, that finish out in a series of fun, belly-squishing humps. Just make it nice and tall, with a nice, long ride time. I think if they went with some new concept (or copy thereof), it wouldn't be long before some other park comes up with a 70' taller version anyway.

It's now the Dinosaurs Alive picnic area. On Google's aerial imagery, it may still contain the pool with the plastic spheres (and, if you look really closely, you might spot Beast1979 inside one of them )... Yeah, it still has the pool with the plastic spheres (always wanted to do that but never got the chance to!) & I don't have good enough eye sight for that! Neither does Google (yet).

This post contains inaccurate information. I do have it on good authority, however, that the Son of Beast will be closed during demolition. Clip clop clip clop clip clop slam!

There's one at the gift shop adjacent to Dinosaurs Alive, too.

I'd plant palm trees and carve faces into them. A Tilt-a-Whirl would be nice... right there... in the old.... (sigh) ...Zodiac ...Beng ..als OH, forget it!

Oh, man. This is making me hungry for an experience I enjoyed at Quinns-on-the-Beach in Marco Island, Florida a couple years back: A heaping basket of piping-hot, flaky, crunchy fish n' chips, dipped in tangy, cool, fresh ketchup, chased down with a sparkling, crisp, frosty glass of ice-cold Coca-Cola with just a twist of lemon; served with oversized hush puppies (which I think they don't have anymore) and some of the most amazing sweet coleslaw I ever tried. ... I'm gnawing on my pen. Be right back... I'm going over to Long John Silver's

People still use Facebook? I thought it was a site for old people to lie about how much better they wish their lives turned out to be. Oh, well, whaddo I know? I left it because it was turning into the cyberspace version of those hyper-annoying stick-figure family decals on the back windows of Priuses (or is that Prii?) ... that and because I'd rather hang out semianonymously on a smaller site with people who share a common interest in my favorite place. -Tb P.S.: Happy Birthday tomorrow, Rc1111

Ok. City Barbecue in Eastgate; it has those garage/screen doors to let out the smoke and let in the summer air. Great ambiance! The St. Elmo Steakhouse in Downtown Indy has the best Porterhouse in the world; love it everytime I go. Sullivan's Steakhouse, up in Keystone Crossing, gives it a run for their money, though! It's no Carlo & Johnny's by any stretch, but man, when out on the road, nothing beats a great slab o' meat. Winner: St. Elmo's.

I would, if it were a little more, I dunno, Jiffy-Pop-ish?

I'll be on the lookout for the guy with one huge, muscular arm! Thanks, Tggrr... My imagination was getting the best of me. That'd be a long climb down!

Just curious. I mean, how hard is it to navigate ladders with flipflops on? (..slightly off-topic, and following up on my previous question, how would WS be evacuated?)
-
Do you write headlines for Variety? I wonder how WindSeeker would be evacuated...

♫ In a little while from now, If I'm not feelin' any less sour, I promise myself to treat myself and Visit a nearby tower...♫ Tb, with apologies to Gilbert O'Sullivan ( but not to do what his song says to do from the tower; just to admire the view and enjoy the breeze, that's all!)

Wolf Pack will be back this season and beyond. I read this as: "Wolf Pack will be back this season.... [thunder clap, and eerie, low-register music builds; a distant howl echoes menacingly nearby. A barritone, growling voice is heard:] and beyond. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" I wish "Chiller" was one of the fonts on here Oh, well.

Kings Dominion Teaser

I wonder if there's some mysterious, freshly manufactured coaster track laying around somewhere? -
I have this, and another one like it that my wife bought me for my birthday a couple years ago. I also have a lemon-yellow PKI "Gilligan" hat with a chin strap from way back in the '04 season.

It's a POV you never want to see. Did YOU lose somethin'?
