  1. Hooray! ~Somehow, I just knew that the area wasn't going to turn into condos... not yet, anyway.
  2. Nice ultrasound of another baby coaster! Probably it's on its way to yet another (yawn) "record-breaking" coaster in some park somewhere, where it will soon be overtaken by (yawn) some newer, taller, faster, loopier, flashier coaster in like, Dubai, or China or some other place. Woo hoo.
  3. Quick! Somebody photoshop the 'Captain Picard' facepalm with a Santa Claus hat. Ready..... go!
  4. Reminds me of "Manfred-sen-jent-zen" from 'A Fish Called Wanda'. Somehow, that remindeded me of it.
  5. I'd have responded: "Right; and the Kings Automall is for Kings Island because it says "Kings.""
  6. "To," preceded eloquently by "had," which faithfully followed "just," having immediately experienced "who," a comma, and, firstly, "Terpy." Loud Out am I Laughing.
  7. I've done some late-night postings. It's rare, but I've done some. I'd sleep more, if it weren't for those loud fireworks every night at 10:00!
  8. I agree; but I'd really like to move Backlot Stunt Coaster to precisely the Bay Area docks where Journey filmed their "Separate Ways" video back in 1982, because that's exactly what that attraction's "theming" looks like. (Sorry, I'll rant about that eyesore all day .) Everything else is just fine for me.
  9. Sorry, but it might fall under average or a launch See what you mean but i thinking an Average coaster would just be an out and back chain lift hill but with out some aspect to define it. What would you call it. I will change it if you want. Oh, your choices are fine; this is a great poll! I was just lamenting how, through the years, the coaster I was most proud of has taken a back seat to the monster innovations that have come about in the years since. The beloved, multi-inversion steel coaster was huge for its time, but 'average' is a fair perspective in the modern world of roller coasters.
  10. I never thought I'd see Vortex on a poll as an "average" coaster. My, how times have changed!
  11. So visible- I'm surprised aliens have not blown it up yet. Okay. One more time...
  12. I got that there was a towel, some chairs, an argument, and that there was a crowd. Were the people mean to you?
  13. Yes. It even has the world's largest wooden museum piece. I hear it's visible from space.
  14. Is it a belayer line? As for the Delirium parts, well, as long as it takes the parts to meander up the River Weser, navigate the choppy North Sea, pass through the English Channel and sail the High Atlantic to the 'States, I think we'll see the ol' girl a restin' for a spell. That's of course unless they're flown here; but I don't really know.
  15. I sometimes lazily call rides by their principal characteristic; like the Troika, Bumper Cars, Train, Flume, and Ship, to "name" a few. In a former decade, I'd add the pseudo-suffix "-thingy" to these, but I've since dropped it because it has become passé.
  16. I like every opinion on here. Even the iso-critical meta-opinions seem rooted in a sort of 'tough love,' rather than impersonal harshness towards our new contributors. There's an underlying sense of friendly humor inherent in a lot of the "critical" posts, so don't take them personally.
  17. Backlot Stunt Coaster! Get that ugly piece of crap out of my park right now, and bring back the 'Tiques and Flyers! That thing is nothing but a big commercial for a forgettable Mark Wahlberg star vehicle and/or Mini Coopers, neither of which has survived the test of time! Fun ride, though...
  18. In my youth, during summer vacation, my cousins and I would walk over to the playground at Western Row School, which was in the midst of what used to be peaceful, waving fields of corn and wheat; a place from which you could see the Eiffel Tower rising over the distant tree line. Aside from the occasional passing vehicle, the only sounds were the gentle, warm breeze, songbirds, the light buzz of cicadas in the trees of the nearby creek, and the distinctive, harmonic multi-chime whistle of Kings Island's Train echoing across the verdant, pastoral countryside that was once Mason's signature landscape. Many of the sounds of Kings Island have changed or disappeared over the decades (the orchestral soundtrack of International Street, the mechanical Band Organ of the Grand Carousel, the "Chicken Dance" Clock above Festhaus, to name a few. If ever the KIMVRR whistle falls silent, the park will have surely died for me.
  19. Son of Beast has been mentioned. An entire legion of my best face palms approaches . Still, though, Mr. Helbig's PR work has always captured the classic feel and spirit of Kings Island... mysterious, exciting... and funny!
  20. If I had $3,454,509.88 or so laying around, I'd strip all the years of old paint from Racer, replace rusting hardware and rotting lumber, discreetly install some new engineering technologies where needed, apply a modern, protective primer throughout, and apply a sparkling coat of durable, bright-white paint to that jewel of a classic coaster.
  21. I can't believe I didn't think of this one before: "Where's My Thing" by Rush
  22. I've seen something like this before, where a person sees impending danger and inexplicably bails out of their vehicle (there are videos of drivers, about to bump into another car during ice storms, who will open their doors and try to jump out, etc.). It must be some kind of instinct. Thank Heaven she wasn't on a ride like WindSeeker. Not much sand there.
  23. "Dreams" by Van Halen would work, too.
