  1. Interesting and relevant read: http://www.agri.ohio...%20Ridebook.pdf Specifically: 1711.551 RIDER RESPONSIBILITIES... Posted for informational purposes only. My personal translation and opinion: "If you love your park, obey their rules!"
  2. The 1984 Madonna song "Borderline" just came into my head, and I don't know why... OH, yes. I'm a Bengals fan. Right on the border of Ohio/Kentucky. Whew! ... and now the 1992 Madonna song "Deeper and Deeper" just came into my head...
  3. The Ambient Music is BETTER!

  4. I thought the rule was there to keep amateurs from accidentally dropping their camera and hitting another rider on the head. [Tb, who knows better, but is trying to be less verbose than he really knows how to be]
  5. To me, that place is like the Lesourdsville/Americana of Wichita. I'd love to see it restored, at least for a little while, but it has limitations (expandability, economic forces) that make the dream seem tough to achieve.
  6. The Cardiac Cats, you know, the Orange and Black Attack? You know, the team with the most truly-tested fans in the world? That's mine.
  7. It is the Little Miami and the park has never flooded.
  8. I didn't know they had a Kings Dominion on Venus. I've greyed out mildly on BLSC a couple of times. I've checked out with a clean bill of health. However; (speaking to the broader audience) only you and your doctor know enough about the state of your health to determine if your gray-outs/blackouts are symptoms of something more serious than normal G-force effects.
  9. ...or expendable Star Trek ensigns? It's a red shirt revolution! Umm... No. Nowadays, red, at Kings Island is just that-- Red. How does nobody get this? If you wear a red shirt, it means you are doomed and will die soon! (Seriously, I'm surprised no one has made this joke yet.) I'm turning in my Spock ears, because I didn't get that until just now. Bad Trekkie! Bad! No treat!
  10. There used to be a video that parodied Kings Island's name changes around the CF takeover. It looked like an ad for Diamondback's "new name," "Reptile Cage!" It was the source of some hilarious repartee on here. http://www.KICentral...renaming-rides/
  11. So Reds fans are gay? Sorry I couldn't resist GO BRAVES As are second-year college athletes?
  12. That explains "Sir Duke." I don't think any musical genius could come up with that amazing of a horn/bass riff while fully awake!
  13. That poor guy! Glasses are so expensive these days. The "solar eclipse" in the above [illegally recorded, but oh, so fun to watch] video is actually 'capacitor-array bias'. The sun is too bright, so the camera's sensors assign neutral pixellation to the affected region because it overloads against built-in threshholds. A laser pointed at a digital camera will do the same thing. @homestar92 - My safest bet would be to attach a lanyard, or get a hard case and stow it in a cargo pocket or waist pack. You get a lot of wind in the face on KI's major coasters; even the ones in Planet Snoopy, so you'll want to use discression.
  14. It does look amazing! The eagle design of the cars is very cool (and nicely crafted). I've only seen some POV's on YouTube, and from what I've seen, the surrounding environment isn't quite ready to make that ride as thrilling as it has the potential to be; however, the terrain and foliage around Kings Island could bring a whole new and unique dimension of enjoyment to a ride like that one.

  16. 1. Then William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy really ARE aliens; 2. The poor things are probably starving, unless their food is camouflaged, too; 3. They are; 4. Then 5115 is my favorite album by HsnJ. 5. Can't answer that one. Never saw it
  17. It makes me wonder if the makers of Scooby Doo were trying to create new catch phrases, or if hippies and wall flowers of the early 1970s really did run around saying "Zoinks" and "Gynkies!" It'd be rad and groovy to know for sure, tote.
  18. Like, zoinks, man? What about the "Shaggy" that used to run around in circles in Enchanted Voyage/SDATHC? That'd be fun to put out on the lawn...
  19. ^Thanks! Me, too. I was taken aback when they just up and walked on top of the grave, calling out to the little 'ghost'. A bit disrespectful, in my humble opinion.
  20. Which is the better pantyhose, silk or nylon?
  21. I've read some really deep stuff on how science has been able to theorize that, for the most part, non-color-blind humans typically see and process color the same way (as a means of survival in evolution theory, and as a means of uniform adaptation to creation in intelligent design theory.) How about direction? My "east" could be your "north." That's one that nobody can figure out. I've tried to explain that one, but I always get this face in response:
  22. You KNEW it was coming! "Thet, Hike! Woooooohooooooooooooo!"
  23. I remember the deck at the 50' level of the Eiffel Tower would get slippery when it rained, and that, if you weren't careful, you could bump your head on the angular beams at the corners of the deck. That and if you had to get down quickly, the staircases would get crowded (like trying to walk back through The Vortex house during high-capacity times). What I don't know is if these factors played a part in their decision to close it off. Is it supposed to be pronounced "Brown Tiger?" Curious.
  24. There'll come a time when we must say goodbye to rides, or even whole parks we love. Enjoy what you have now, and take in the experience without taking it for granted. More importantly, cherish the people whose company you share at these parks and on these rides. Time goes much faster than you think. Now is a gift.
