Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
Skippy replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
^That would be cool I've heard that the Sponge Bob area will replace the Nick Theater and the Green Slime Maze, the Krusty Krab Snack Shack will be part of the area. Sounds to me like PKI has BIG plans for this Sponge Bob area! -

Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006

^That would be the best Way better than Universal's Fear Factor Live show! -
That's what WWK is for and it's doing it's job exceptionally well Actually, the new plan is to get people on the Geauga Lake side as WWK is stealing all the guests away and is becoming extremly popular. People walk straight past the rides back to WWK and now the Geauga Lake side is more empty then last year. After 2006 and WWK's completion, you can be assured that Cedar Fair's main priority will be on bringing life back to the Geauga Lake side via signature hyper coaster

They didnt sell SFWOA for kingda Ka and the Golden Kingdom!!! tehy sold it to get that property off there hands! Are you sure about that? Where do you think a park chain in debt gets money like that from for an expansion of that caliber? Oh, that's right, they have another HUGE expansion coming up, and look, another park is being sold, Astroworld -
Why the WildLife Side Wouldn't you agree it would be a smart move to build the coaster on the former waterpark's spot as it's not only a LARGE footprint in the park that's currently unused but it's also on the side of the park that has the 210ft clearing? It just doesn't make sense to build on the WWK side as there's just no room

Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom will get Phase II for 2006 along with a ton of ride rennovations/refurbishments, a couple of new rides, and a few surprises, but come 2007 we'll see the long awaited hyper along with more surprises Trust me! Also, keep in mind that 2007 is Kinzel's last year as CEO of of Cedar Fair and he plans to go out with a bang. How you may ask? Well let's just say he's most proud of the collection of world class rollercoasters he's added to the park chain over the years and that he considers them to be his biggest accomlishments (yes, all the parks, even Michigan's Adventure will be part of this celebation). We were also supposted to get Golden Kingdom but Six Flags sold SFWoA in order to pay for the expansion we were originally supposted to get. Anyways, while we on the topic of things Six Flags was supposted to get but never did, anyone remember this?

Everyone keep in mind that The Addams Family is on the top of Paramount Parks list of attractions to install, or otherwise they wouldn't have pursued the rights so relentlessly. Also keep in mind that PCW and PKI were to receive The Addams Family coasters this year until something unexpected delayed it even further. So, do you really think their going to hold out any longer? Next year Paramount Parks will start incorporating The Addams Family into their parks starting with PCW (as Scoob has already mentioned), but come 07, Paramount Parks will be in full force

Scoob's right, Viacom (Paramount Parks) FINALLY got the FULL, exclusive rights to The Addams Family Bring on the new diner and coaster, I'm starving!

What ever happened to that TVLand Diner idea? I loved that and I'm hoping they didn't drop the idea in favor of splitting the shows up into their own mini-eateries (Happy Days Diner, Addams Family Diner)! I told them they should resurrect the idea and stick with themed sit down restaurants and maybe add a character dining to a Nicktoons Cafe or something.

Another thing they did that I liked was the added Nickelodeon ball ontop of the Runaway Reptar coaster. It's not much but it certainly adds to the atmosphere (and definatly beats a bare top) Hey GGG, wasn't it you who said The Wild Thornberrys River Adventure and Rugrats Runaway Reptar would be getting touchups for next season? Maybe they'll add one then! -

Actually Scoob, have you seen Dreamworld's Nick Central? I really would love PKI's Nick Universe to look just like that, Angry Beavers ride included Not saying that's what I want the Sponge Bob area to be like though (I pretty much described my thoughts on that already). Whether it's the colorful cement paths or the large colorful buildings covered in Nick decore, I'll never know, but there's something about their Nick Central that attracts me to it that our's seems to be missing. Take notes PKI Dreamworld's Nickelodeon Central australianamusementfanatics.com - Nickelodeon Central Gallery roller-coaster.com.au - Nickelodeon Central Gallery -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006

Also new in 2006! The young and the young at heart will be able to explore the wonderful underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants, Bikini Bottom, and all the delightful characters that inhabit it. While there, kids won't want to miss a chance to meet their favorite yellow sponge inside his signature pinapple house or his grumpy neighbor, Squidward, inside his Easter Island head. SpongeBob's best friend, Patrick, can also be seen right outside his rock waiting to share hugs with the little ones! So parents get out that camera and be ready to capture all the magical moments, sights, and sounds you may encounter during you stay in Bikini Bottom! If all this excitement works up an appetite, guests can satisfy their hunger with a delicious, mouthwatering Kraby Patty at the Krusty Krab Snack Shack or kids can go right across the street to the Chumbucket, where they can enjoy a free-fall ride in the hopes to escape the menacing wrath of Plankton, SpongeBob's nemesis. Want more thrill with that? Well then head on down to Mrs. Puff's Boating School and climb aboard a boatmobile with SpongeBob behind the wheel and...how about that for an idea? I really hope that's what the area will end up like next year! ^Avatar's alright. Our opinions don't matter anyways though as it's the kids' that do, and the kids really like it IMO, Avatar can make a neat coaster if done right. -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
Skippy replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
CoastersRZ, the retheming wouldn't involve removing any trees as the Angry Beavers takes place in the forest What I meant by Popeyesque was for it to have some theming and to follow a story to make it more interesting, that's all! -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006

The Sponge Bob walk through area will probably be similar Wild Thornberrys one at PGA, which was also a retheme of their Green Slime Maze. Click here to get a general idea of what it will look like, theming wise. BTW, anyone think our Wings diner will be rethemed to a Nicktoons Cafe like PGA's was? I'm still hoping that in the future we receive Popeyesque retheming of WWC, involving the Angery Beavers. That would be the best! -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
Skippy replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I think I've already expressed my opinion in that I hate the logo, but I think the area name is alright! As said before, there's probably a purpose behind it I finally found out why the "Universe" part of the logo looks so familiar. They just took the same font that was used in the VH1 Presents Vibe show that was preformed in 03 If anyone has a picture, please post it! It's most likely referring to the new Action FX Theater movie, along with the new shows, and the additions to the Nick Parade when it returns for the 06 season! -

Actually, I just thought of something! What if the new Avatar spinning coaster is like the new Disney Studios spinning coaster, dubbed "Crush's Turtle Twister." If they finish it before Disney it will indeed be the first if it's kind, I included artwork below to give you an idea of what I'm talking about: Now take away the Crush exterior and replace it with, oh let say Appa (Aang's flying Byson). This would definatly be the darkride I've been waiting for, fun for the whole family. All we can do is hope for the best (at least untill the grand unveiling this January)! I just hope PKI knows what their doing! BTW, don't look into this too much because you may just set yourself up for a dissapointment -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
Skippy replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
^^^Exactly This is a huge dissapointment, I was really hoping for atleast a darkride Disney's all about darkrides, so when you promise Disney quality, we expect highly themed darkrides. Do they even read the comments on the surveys? All I ever do is suggest darkrides and animatronics. I guess not because look what their offering. Our flyers back with the Danny Phantom theme would have been more appealing! I'm still rooting for you PKI, I don't know if I can take another dissapointment -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
Skippy replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Well I guess I better make a special trip to PKI to take pictures of Nick Central before it goes as I did with Hanna-Barbera Land! It all sounds so grand but will they follow through, I'm having my doubts (please prove me wrong PKI). -

Universal/Disney quality theming sounds great but then again they consider the Italian Job themed I'm hoping the Avatar coaster will be an indoor coaster/darkride to replace the rumored Sponge Bob one (which I'm dissapointed were not getting). Hopefully the theming on the Avatar coaster will make you feel like your in and anceint fantasy world filled with magical creatures, just like when riding a Disney attraction! BTW, the new logo sucks! -
SFGADV INTAMIN WOODIE!
Skippy replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I hope it doesn't break The Beast's record for longest wooden coaster I can see it beating Son of Beast's for tallest and fastest, so that the park has the tallest and fastest steel and wooden coasters in the world. Now we know why their selling Astro World, to make money for this expansion, just like when they sold Worlds of Adventure for their last expansion Stupid Six Flags, why do they consentrate all their money into the parks that don't need it? I'll be glade to see them go, thats for sure! -
What will Geauga Lake get in 07'?
Skippy replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Actually, back in the Six Flags days there was a rumor that the coaster would tunnel under the lake, like the Hulk -
What will Geauga Lake get in 07'?
Skippy replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^Exactly ^^They wanted to build the hyper on the "Wildlife Side" because they were out of room on the "Wildrides Side" (unless they wanted to use the rest of the parking lot), but to my understanding, it was the "Wildlife Side" that had the hight restrictions that delayed the long awaited hyper. Now that Geauga Lake has room to build on the "Wildrides Side", which has a rumored clearance of 210ft, we may get that long awaited hyper in 07, along with some new flats and a new area (Kingda Ka/Golden Kingdom anyone?)! As for next year, we WILL indeed be getting Phase II of WWK! We also will get the Raging Wolf Bobs final year of retracking, a possible Villain retracking, tons of new paint jobs (mostly coasters), more refurbishments, and we may also receive a couple of flats!
