  1. He just doesn't seem to have his facts totally straight all the time, which is why I'm curious. In this thread, for example, he mentions the CW trains are being shipped to PKI because CW opens so much later than PKI. True, but IJST isn't even supposed to open at PKI until May, which is when CW opens. So in reality, shipping trains from CW to PKI for that reason doesn't really make sense. Just my thoughts, of course. I'm not saying the guy is a fraud, I'd just like some proof before I go hanging on every word he says.
  2. Has anybody verified the indentity of pkiridesmaint? I'm curious to know if he really does work at the park. It seems as if he's been feeding us quite a bit of information the past couple weeks, and before I get all giddy knowing that we get our cars, I'd like to be sure this person is who he claims he is.
  3. Quite honestly, we won't know until the ride is totally finished and the park is opened. Even once the track is put down and the structures are complete, it will take some time to landscape around the ride. I've got faith in PKI that they can landscape the area nicely.
  4. New photos were posted today, 3/10. See here: IJ:ST Photos 3/10/05
  5. PKI (of course!!!) Cedar Point Dorney PKD (maybe) and maybe HW. (Funny, it's the closest park to my house, anyway...yet my season pass, and my heart, are with PKI )
  6. Or we could all just stop playing these kiddy guessing games and wait until we hear something. What's to say the article will mention the condition of the cars? BoddaH said there will be an article concerning the fire...that's all we know.
  7. They'll probably have a flash animation up on the Season Pass page. Carowinds and Kings Dominion both have one up, so I assume it'll only be a matter of time. Even CW has one.
  8. Looking great! Nice catch, Gabriel.
  9. Yup. It's a work in progress, for sure. Clicking Rides and Attractions > Overview, and then clicking the middle picture (Featured Attraction: IJ:ST), you'll notice PKI now has a Borg Assimilator. Dubbed "The Carolinas' first flying coaster" I don't think we're in Kansas (err Carowinds) anymore. All in all, it's a great improvement to the site, minor as it may be. I look forward to seeing it all come together in the coming days.
  10. It's back and in flash, as expected. I'm not seeing any perks yet, though.
  11. Something special may be on the way... PKI, PKD, and Canada's Wonderland sites are all down. I couldn't access the GA site at all, and Carowinds is still up. This could be the flash site I recently reported on Carowinds getting. Maybe they'll finally get the whole site up into 2005. I'd like to see some new gold pass perks.
  12. The site is flash-based now. If you take a look at the menu at the top of the page, it's all done in flash now. I love that instead of hovering over a selection for a drop-down menu, you simply click and a submenu opens below it.
  13. Oh, I'm sure they will too. I'm just starting to get antsy.
  14. That is one of the problems I have with their site on the mac side of things. With Windows and Firefox, I've come across another problem. I am unable to click the flash movie for IJST to go to that page. Instead, I either have to type in the page manually or use IE. *shudders at the though* It's not that big of a problem for me to type in the page address manually, but still...it's all about ease-of-use.
  15. Thing is, they've got room...Plain and simple. Why they don't use that room is up for debate. That fact of the matter is, though, that they DO have the room to expand out.
  16. I'm not really sure how the whole season pass thing works quite yet. (I'm a virgin in the territory) Is this the first year for Kings Dominion to get the Gold Pass? It's kind of strange that they're giving different parks different names for their season passes. It looks like the Platinum Pass is pretty much the same as a Gold Pass...and it's cheaper. Like I said, though, I know very little when it comes to the season pass thing.
  17. Maybe I've been living under analog rock for the past year, but I just noticed the Carowinds site is almost all flash-based now...unlike the other Paramount sites. It looks quite nice! Again, unless I've been living under a rock, it seems as if Carowinds has a new type of season pass, dubbed the "Platinum Pass" Interesting... (Feel free to flame if this is old news )

Thanks, but I'm looking more for actual logon screens and/or boot screens.

Does anybody know of any boot screens or logon screens that pertain to PKI (or even Cedar Point) I've looked at a few of the sites I know of, and can't seem to find anything.
  20. On the arch: You go underground to buy your tix, get in line, and get in elevator. The elevator travels up (slowly) one side of the arch. At the top, you get out, stand, take pix, etc. Then, you go to the opposite side of the arch and head down. In France: We went late at night...Just before closing time. The top floor was closed. (It closes earlier than the other two floors) It was disappointing, but the 2nd floor is just as good. Each floor has a set cost. The first floor has a certain cost for walking the stairs and another for taking elevator. The second has the same setup. For the third, there's only one charge...since you don't take stairs. For the second floor w/ elevator, we were charged $7.30 (Euro) Of course, this was the adult cost. About the lines...None, since we went so late.
  21. Yup. There are four elevators, one in each leg of the tower. (There were only two open at the time I was there, though) These four all go to the second level. From there, I believe another two go to the top. There's stores and food on the tower, too. As for the slope...It's not really noticable. The St. Louis arch, on the other hand, is something to be afraid of. Those elevators are tiny and pretty shaky.
  22. *Jumps up and down* I have, I have! Just went summer of '04 to London, Paris, Caen, Cannes, Aix, and quite a few other places. I loved being on the real thing... ...but the KI Eiffel is a close second, what with the splendor of SOB, Face/Off, Vortex, etc. all in view from atop. My God...I need to go to PKI NOW. I miss the place. I'd work there if I didn't live 3 hrs. away. Anyways...There I went on another tangent again.
  23. :-P But in all seriousness...It would be nice to see pictures of the PKI Eiffel Tower being built. I've never seen any such photos.
  24. I've been wondering where the perks where as well. Being a virgin gold-passer, I'm really excited to see my goodies
  25. It's all of us PKI geeks. We see an update and flock to the site all at once. edit: It looks like all of the Paramount Parks sites are down. Server upgrades? or conspiracy? :-p edit 2: Ah! It's back. Looking good!!!
