Which KIC member gets to be which charecter?
-
Id rather see any money set aside to build a tunnel go to the maintenance team to help keep the ride smooth.

As it appears they are the old tubs from Fun Spot's old set. Fun Spot had a set, then replaced them when they bought Americana's old set when it closed in 2002. Apparently this rumor was started by some ACErs with too much time on their hands.

When you open the image in a new window you can view it full size... If you check out carowinds zone it doesn't seem that their flyers tubs are painted in that way at all... http://www.carowindszone.com/eagles.php and the KI flying eagles never had their numbers painted on them like that... http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...um=98&pos=5 These look like they're used and could be being moved to KI. Didn't Geauga Lake have a set in storage? Edit: Look in between the fins on the tub under the exit sign, you can see the wooden fence that was installed in the parking lot this year. Edit 2: EXIF data f//3.5 s 1/20 ISO = auto WB = Auto

Well it says that picture was taken on the 12th and the post was made on the 12th at 7:53 P.M. Not sure when the picture was taken but it looks like it was taken as the sun was going down. According to this the sun was setting just around the time he posted that... They could be the original flyers before they were moved to carowinds in 2004.

6F Conference Call Information
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Been to many SF parks this year? Most of them were very well improved. If you listen to the conference call september and october seemed to have gone over really well. Those quotes you described sound more like a certain recent Cedar Fair conference call. Trim brakes on airtime hills? See behemoth. While you check that out, check out the degree of the drop too. -
6F Conference Call Information

Favorite quotes so far... "Escape was paramount" and "The Tony Hawk coaster has show us you don't have to spend 20 million dollars on a coaster for it to be a hint." Shapiro sounds so smart and confident in his business and brought up the SFKK accident directly. Definently a nice change of pace from similar calls. Oh and... "Keep in mind when we first came in in 2005 the cap ex plan was in place. The 22 million dollar coasters they were building we couldn't undo, but with what we still had we improved the parks..." -

FOR SALE: Geauga Lake Woodies
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
whos house does it go to and who gets to use it on what days -
Cory, Adam, come on now. Theres no need for name calling Settle down, its not THAT important what the actual color is called. If I remember correctly, a certain marketing spokesperson from long ago talked about re-painting the eifel tower in a bronze color but then manager of the park; Al Weber, decided to stick with the green. Also, why did they shorten the spike at the top of the tower? Dominions is like it was originally but Kings Island's go shorter. One other thing, does anyone else feel an American flag should be flying from the top of the Eifel Tower?

Its alright, glad you thought it was funny. I remember I was unable to rip video from the dvd so i just filmed the tv screen with the dv camcorder. How did you come across that and get it on photobucket lol?
-
That was a joke trailer me and "the Klockster" made awhile ago. The trailer was hosted on KIC and youtube. You have no right to put it on photobucket, nor is the trailer shown in its entirity.

Why does everyone want time warp, that ride is absolutely awful.
-
Hell, I'd even settle for Geauga Lakes old ferris wheel.

If I was turned away at Millenium Force or any other ride due to my weight I would consider that a huge wake up call, not demand a bigger seat. In 2006 I was really worried about fitting on Millenium and TTD, it was close on Millenium but I still fit all 5 rides I still considered that a wake up call and by 2007 I could ride it comfrotably. Now that I'm in college and have my room its a lot easier to regulate what I eat. I dont have any pop in my refrigerator, just water. I eat right when I go to the dining hall and the only time i ever really indulge is if someone comes and visits. I dont want to be a statistic.

Do you prefer the Forward Racer or Backwards Racer?
Gordon Bombay replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Backwards is quite fun. -
Official Poll: After One Season, do you prefer new SOB or old?
Gordon Bombay replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I prefer it as it is now with the new trains. Although they're not that comfortable and have really hard backs to them the ride itself is better. Theres airtime, and the speed at the area where the loop used to be is pretty cool. Rose Bowl still hurts like hell though. -
No harm in bringing the top gun theme up, its why these forums exist, just know that others are going to have differing opinions, theyre not criticizing you, they just have different ideas, myself included.
-
There is absolutely no reason to get rid of a reliable, high capacity coaster that still gets good ridership and is an area that would not be prime for future expansion. Removing Top Gun makes no sense especially when there are many other areas to expand by. Sure a coaster could go back by Top Gun, but how would you put a few flat rides back there? That terrain is in no way good for a new themed area of the park whcih is why its perfect for Top Gun due to its layout. Also, I dont think anyone is going to complain if Cedar Fair puts a long overdue large steel coaster near The Beast. How would it "ruin" The Beast? Keep in mind you see that other large steel coaster (Vortex) throughout The Beasts layout, and can even see Racer when the leaves are down. On a side note, did anyone see the American flag they mounted to The Beast's maintenance shed weekend? I thought that was an awesome thing to do.

Future of Coney Island, Cincinnati- our Beloved Park
Gordon Bombay replied to westcoaster's topic in Coney Island Central
I dont see any of that happening in the near future no offense. Thats after talking to CoastersRZ who has worked there for quite a while. Why would the log flume have to be highly themed? Thats really unlikely for Coney. I could see a regular log flume like Americana's raging thunder or the old Kings Mills log flume but nothing with animatronics, sound effects, and lights. A small wooden coaster like the Tornado at stricker grove would be a huge hit but I dont see it happening soon, it doesnt seem like Coney has been investing that much in their attractions. Not to say they haven't done quality investment, but that they dont seem to spend that much.
