  1. When I went into the park on Friday ( The media event day ) I heard the sirens so I figured I would go around and have a look at it running. The helicopter was working and the explosions were also working. The cop cars seemed to be a bit out of sync with the cars, but I am sure they will fix that. The ride looks awesome and I can't wait to ride it. There are some really cool effects and I think KI did a good thing by getting this ride.
  2. Not sure if this has been answered already or not, but the Starbucks deal went through and we are in the process of constuction on Bakery. Right now, its just kinda a hole in the wall. The other new thing is Pablo Charlie's. That is the new Mexican place which is taking over Mandarin. That will most likely not open for a few weeks, same with starbucks. Can't be for sure though. Oh, and Chick-fil-A will HOPEFULLY be opening April 16th or somewhere around there. HOPEFULLY.
  3. The March 15th update is still on the site. And there are also the pictures to go along with that update. Just checked the site.
  4. It's all about Festhaus. Yes I work there, so I might be a little byast, but I still think we are the best. We have the best staff and we also offer the widest selection of food. Our food is good and we make sure that it is of good quality. Overall, I think Festhaus is the better restaurant.
  5. It's called Pride Night... not "gay day"
  6. Just letting everyone know, FearFest is only going to be on Friday's and Saturday's according to the Operations Calendar... No sunday's this year.
  7. During my 3 seasons at the park I have worked every Pride Night. This is a great event and everyone is so nice. I do get the occasional,"Isn't it weird?", to which I respond,"Absolutly NOT!!" There is no reason for it to be wierd. I am there serving guests just like any other day. Yes, these guests may be differ from the norm, but they are still guests and are still enjoying the park. I am glad that this association is coming to Kings Island again and I hope that it continues for a long time. P.S.: Just a reminder, if anyone were to ask you if you knew when Pride Night was, you would have to deny knowing anything because of lawsuits and discrimination. As much as I would like to tell people when it is, I know that some are not as welcoming as others and that could cause a problem plus I could get fired for giving that information out. If the guest still wants to know after you have said you don't know anything, send them to Guest Relations and let them handle it. Not trying to tell you what to do, but that is legal issues and you could lose your job over it....
  8. FYI, Tuckers is being remade into Happy Days Cafe, which is going to be like Bubba's, only with a different menu and design. Backbar, Ice Cream, stuff like that. It will be really nice and I hope that it does better than the original stand did....
  9. Starbucks is going to have the highest food costs ever! Everyone wanting to get their daily fix before, and possibly after, work. Will employees be allowed to take stuff from Starbucks?
  10. I am sorry that I got that wrong.... putting that behind us... FearFest would be a bad thing to get rid of. Lets face it, as long as we make money and don't lose any money and people still want to work it and be in the attractions, we are going to have fearfest.
  11. When Paramount bought KI, the contract said that they could not do winterfest for 5 years. That 5 years was up the first of this year. That is why they are having winterfest. Do not ask me why that was in the contract, but it was. As for the hotel, I do not know what is going on with that, but I am not sure that the lack of winter attractions would be enough reason for the deal to fall through. That seems like a really lame excuse. I hope that the hotel comes because people need a decent place to stay and that would boost our attendance and therefore profit!
  12. Train, carousel, shops, shows... they may get bold this time around and add FoF, Fx Theatre, and any other indoor attractions. As stated above those would be the only rides that were allowed to run. Any metal ride would not be allowed to run due to the fact that it has to be 50 degrees in order for them to run.
  13. According to the employee handbook schedule and the one posted on the website, we will be closing at the end of October. However, as in the past years, we may be open that very first week of November. Winterfest will be sometime in December although I am not sure when or how long it will run. More info to come.
  14. Bakery is not going away. It is still very much there and will continue to be there for a while. I am not sure if they will encorporate the starbucks with Bakery, but I know that Bakery is staying there. And yes, Graeter's is coming to Kings Island. Also, the Chick-fil-A will be run by CFA people, not Kings Island.
  15. All avenues are being persued with this park buying thing. Yes, the following names are being considered to buy Paramount Parks: Disney, Universal, Cedar Fair, and Six Flags. While I do not see this happening, it would be the parks in Ohio and two other states that would be sold. Ohio is the flagship park so I am not sure they would want to do that. Hehe, another piece of info, Winterfest is def. coming back this year and FearFest is reverting back to its three day run schedule ( 6-12am Friday, 7-12 or 1am Saturday, and 7-9 on Sunday ) This is a much better schedule and is more organized. I do not know how they are going to handle the switching over from normal park to FearFest, but when they had this schedule 3 years ago, they had everyone leave the park at 6 and let all the stands and everything switch over to "FearFest Mode" and then let everyone who has tickets for FearFest re-enter at 7 til the end of the night. I personally loved that since it gave us Food people a chance to catch up and get everything organized. Welp, thats all for now. Later
  16. The international restaraunt has ( as far as I know ) just the seating that is visible from International Street and then there is also the board room, but I do not think there is a bar or anything like that there. Just letting ya know.
  17. Adding to my earlier post, there is also a possibility that Viacom will be selling the Paramount Parks in Ohio and two other states to other people ( yet to be named and also yet to be verified, but Cedar Fair, Disney, Six Flags, and Universal are all names being considered ) just an FYI!!
  18. First off, there is no tunnel on SOB ( as I am sure has been pointed out many of times ) and although Top Gun looks blue, they have not painted it and will not paint it back to the original color it was ( red ). Also, I have been inside the park since off-season, and the fountain is still whatever color it was when the season ended, which I believe was a very light blue, which is hard to see from a distance. There are also the following new stands coming to KI: 1) Graeters (sp?) Ice Cream, Chick-fil-A, Happy Days Cafe ( originally Tucker's ), and I believe a Starbucks, but I may be wrong on that. I am going in for instand soon so I will be able to check that out.
