Ark Bible Park In Kentucky?
Outdoor Man replied to Coasterkidd23's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't the State of Ohio own the airport and the land it's on? I've flown out of that airport at least once a year for 4 years now and when leaving the airport you always see "Welcome to Kentucky" signs coming out, and from my understanding it's because Ohio owns the airport, could be wrong though. I'm not going to swear to it- but I'm pretty sure that most airports welcome you to whatever state they're in upon exiting- because "usually" you're flying in from another state. -

and Oktoberfest is in........ September.... (answered this out of chronological order. hope no one else had this pitiful joke.......) AND, if you live in Liberty Twp, like me, the 2010 Fall Fest was in the Summer. -
i find it interesting that with the ariel pictures well-before closing and more recent have little similarities. ie- you cannot make out where the midway was. Almost like they pulled EVERYTHING up- concrete and all. unless I am missing something- and like a loser with nothing else to do today- I tried to find how the old layout went from recent pictures.

speaking of park maps, does anyone have images, links, etc.. of Coney Island while still operating before Kings Island.
-
holy crap. WindSeeker gets WAY up there. according to picture 18 we'll be able to see the skyline of Cedar Point from up there!!!!!!!!! is it just me (or maybe this has already been talked about)- but does it look like they've removed a lot of the trees through Coney Mall?

i didn't get to go by the parking lot today; we live in the opposite direction. Son of Beast was right outside our balcony and though I wasn't looking specifically for a tarp- i didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

staying at GWL tonight and drove past the ki parking lot on my way back from a walmart run. there were a pair of semi's in the parking lot surrounded by vehicles that appeared to have some large, cylinder-shaped objects on the flatbed. It was near dusk- so i couldn't see real well... but WindSeeker pieces may have begun to arrive.

Ark Bible Park In Kentucky?

why does it matter who it caters to? If John and Joe Doe want to pay $15 admission (or whatever) to get into said park- and others just like them- it's a cash flowing venture; everybody wins. I think maybe I'm missing the side of the coin you're speaking from. -

With respect to the "owners" of this site I want to steer clear of the "religious" side of this topic all together- other than to say: 1) tax breaks to new businesses offering gainful employment opportunities is nothing new. If the Commonwealth of Kentucky offered tax breaks to this endeavor to kick it off and pony up a few dollars for gainful employment- separation of Church and State has nothing to do with it. Its about giving taxable benefit to an organization that will be paying FICA, and employees that will be paying their own set of taxes. It is the state government investing in itself. 2) I went to the Kentucky State Fair this past year. I can't imagine that Kentucky Kingdom would have much of a future and it wouldn't be wise for the state to roll out incentives for a park that can't expand. If you've ever been there I think you would agree that it is pretty much a textbook definition of a land-locked park. And every year in the late August/early September window most of your available parking is poached by a multi-day running fair. And if Hindu's Muslims, etc... offered to build a complex that offered gainful employment on a scale such as above- they would be given the same tax-break consideration just as would a Honda factory offering to build a warehouse in Kentucky to employ "X" employees. Religion has nothing to do with it- it's dollars and cents in the economy. [edited by Mr. Schrute for really bad grammar] -
i would love to see google-earth pics from years past. as a side note, water surrounding rides wouldn't do a thing for the mid-july temperature.... or June for that matter.

i got that today too. What creative genius came up with that wording.... "Imagine Winterfest on a day like today??? YIKES"- then some other line about better ways to enjoy Kings Island.... I hit "reply" to the email- which I'm sure won't go anywhere- but stated that cold weather and "winter"fest was kind of the point. and placed my vote for a return of the event.

good pictures. it was a great picture you got from inside the line que from "the Crypt" that day it was open last year...

i'll snap a picture next time I go by in the evening. I noticed last year EnterTrainment Junction was selling Christmas decor from the former Cypress Gardens (noticed the supply boxes stamped "Winter Haven, FL"

i couldn't find a thread that was closer to to this particular topic- so I figured I would bring out a topic that had been moth-balled for three years. And NO- I'm not suggesting WinterFest is retunring. Did anyone happen to noticed that the "star tree top" formerly perched atop the Paramount version of the Eiffel Tower Christmas Tree now lights up the side of the EnterTrainment Junction in West Chester?

I am leading a group to GWL in January- with an outstanding rate. If you are interested- i don't care if we know you or not... message me and I'll pass on the details.

if the report is correct they're going to try and put $150 million into it. That's some serious scratch that should be able to produce something(s) worthwhile. I would love if they would, in a sense, leave the "thrill" rides like tall, fast, etc.. roller coasters to places like CF, Six Flags, etc... and do a focus on theming and "special effects." -
alright Brown.... Raptor.... make with the pictures!

intriguing. i can only figure it would not be positioned real well as it regards to population. Middletown would be better suited.... or perhaps a hamlet on the east side of Mason- oh wait, that's already occupied- never mind. -
