  1. While I understand the point you are making, you will say and mean it when you walk right on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train because you scheduled your ride before you arrived rather than standing in the 2-4 hour standby line. Trust me the FastPass+ system is amazing when used properly. Most bloggers who have lambasted the system are locals who visit Disney every week. If you are coming for that once in a lifetime or just your annual trip the system is your best friend.
  2. The World Showcase is a huge attraction at EPCOT, but you have already seen many of the characters you mentioned appearing in these countries. Donald Duck's boat ride in Mexico has been around for ages based on the 3 Caballeros movie so folks that act like Frozen being incorporated in Norway is groundbreaking, its not. Just on a new scale, but it has been done before at EPCOT.
  3. Something else I just realized and in no way am I trying to overlook this poor girls situation and long road ahead, but... Once she does recover (hopefully fully and begins functioning with her prosthetic) which is an insanely long and grueling road ahead. She will be unable to ride roller coasters and many other rides of amusement. While I know that is probably something she would never want to do again because of this event. Still most rides have a policy preventing prosthetics limbs on rides. Had a family friend who lost both legs, one below and one above the knee, the recovery process is painful and something that never stops. He was able to walk and even drive again, but suffered almost every day after the loss of his legs. Phantom pain was a huge issue, which eventually led to a dependence on very strong pain killer, eventually having to kick that addiction and learning to just function with the pain. Money will not make this process any easier or better for this young lady.
  4. And still I think that price point is too much for KK, the discount needs to be around the $27-$29 range. The goal is to then get people to spend more in the park since they spent less at the gate.
  5. The part that excites me the most is the inclusion of the next gen animatronics like those found in the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. That along with stellar music and story will make this a can't miss attraction. Now the only hope is the capacity of this ride has been improved greatly or lines will be insane.
  6. Ive seen a Yeti in central Florida who loves disco...
  7. I wonder if Mr. Hart would approve a Kentucky Kingdom Central? The first forum could be the installation of the Trailer Tower and the continued monitoring of T3 progress...
  8. The constant confusion on Facebook regarding the deeply discounted prices for Indiana and Tennessee guests and not locals is raising lots of questions that the park really doesn't answer that well. Basically bring the Indy Star Ad and your picture ID, but they never mention you must be a resident of those 2 states.
  9. Other interesting notes, IOA estimates show no change from 2013 to 2014 while Universal with Diagon Alley saw a large growth. Magic Kingdom will eventually break 20 Million guests and the other 3 main Disney parks continue to feed off of the driving force that is the Magic Kingdom. Always an interesting report to read and get up to speed on trends in the industry.
  10. This is going to rival or exceed the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom accident when the young girl lost her leg. I fear from the news reports and design of the trains that multiple passengers will have lost appendages. A very tragic event and I pray for all of those involved. The continued thought I have reading the reports of the issues from the day is that the ride had been serviced numerous times and it was either left accidentally or intentionally in maintenance mode. I hope this is not the case, for the employees involved. Lastly, the Smiler will more than likely not operate again.
  11. Very bad situation. Hope all involved recover quickly. Watch the POV of this ride, this coaster has speed until the brake run, which means those carriages hit really hard. Scary situation indeed.
  12. I'm not even sure what to think of this. Also, is anybody else seeing a Kentucky Kingdom ad on KIC, and this very topic? Irony at it's finest... "Indy's new play place?" Ha. This is a copy/paste from the KK Facebook page: "The Raging River Rapids Ride is ready to go. However, we can only open the ride after the Kentucky Department of Agriculture conducts its routine intitial inspection. The State’s ride inspector was scheduled to visit last Friday but never showed up. We have notified the individuals in charge at the Department of Agriculture but have not heard back from them. Once they arrive and complete their inspection, the Raging River Rapids ride can open. We regret the delay but it is out of our control." This blows my mind, why would you throw the ride inspectors under the bus and air dirty laundry in a public setting like this? This park has accepted zero responsibility for delayed openings, low crowds, negative reviews and poor customer service. Mr. Hart will go after anyone that disagrees with him and his opinion of the park. Young teenage employees are heckling breast feeding mothers on their own initiative. Inspectors are the reason rides are having delayed openings and negative internet people are turning paying customers away. The park will accept anyones money at the turnstiles unless you happen to interpret things and then security will be called to show you out. These actions will effect the parks sustainability long term.
  13. Quite simply the park on the surface looks healthy, but once you peel the layers back you see there are major issues that jeopardize the future of the park and the tax payers collateral. These are many of the concerns that have been raised on this site, the behind the scenes actions and public responses have become laughable. Hart can't get out of his own way for the success of the park. I would expect T3 to continue to get the weekly push back till it opens. Kumbak has a record of having delays getting their replacement trains up and running. After all this is no small feat building brand new trains for a coaster that is roughly 20 years old.
  14. And this is why Mako is the wrong choice for Sea World. As I said in that forum Mako is the wrong coaster for the Orlando Market and for potentially drawing guests away from either Universal or Disney. The majority of which are families with children who may not be tall enough to ride Mako but Cobra's Curse is in their wheelhouse. Now the question is will they want to make the drive down to Tampa?
  15. This will do very little to draw guests from Universal or Disney. It will more than likely draw guests that would have otherwise gone to Busch Gardens.
  16. ^ That is awesome! Kentucky Kingdom may not consider Kings Island competition, but I am sure Kings Island views Kentucky Kingdom as competition. Rightfully so, they are competing for the same regional crowd and KI does not want to loose any potential guests to KK. That is considered good business, aware of your competition, especially in your marketplace.
  17. The Wilds is very unique and it keeps growing. Well worth the visit. Also they have some great zip lines as well.
  18. I can't wait for more reviews of this weekend and the hundreds that show up...
  19. That is hilarious. Then again to go from 0 guests in 2013 to about 600,000 in 2014. That is some serious growth.
  20. I am done ridding BBoBH after my first ride this season a few weekends ago. The FunTv's in the line are horrible, half the props were not working and many targets never went active. This ride needs a fresh start. Time to gut the whole thing and start over. You have a gorgeous area in Planet Snoopy and then there is this dilapidated and dated attraction that even the temple drummers from Adventure Express find disgraceful to the park.
  21. Profit doesn't mater this year, but continued commonwealth funding does.
  22. Don't worry there is a safety committee that meets weekly to handle all safety issues at the park. Its a priority and there is no price for safety. Hmm I wonder if that is the same philosophy they take towards marketing and PR? No price/cost means more savings...
  23. Remember they are not Vekoma trains, they are Kumbak trains, which are sort of like Vekoma but they aren't. Just wanting to clarify, because until a few weeks ago I was under the same impression. They best hope the testing goes great and that all proximity sensors are up and working properly. Hmm I wonder about a clearance pull through? Wonder if those have been tested yet by the Safety Committee? Im sure they will get to it at some point this week. The good news is Kumbak has a stellar reputation for building trains that deliver a more comfortable and softer ride. All joking aside Kumbak makes trains that are better looking (that is a debatable point) and deliver a pretty harsh ride, not much better and worse in some cases than the original Vekoma trains. So the good news is T3 should continue to deliver all the same terror and roughness that made it a classic when it was first built.
  24. Mindless repetition. If I say it enough, I will believe it and eventually it will come true.
  25. Nope weekly is good enough. After all what could go wrong with daily park operation? Except those that are disabled or breastfeeding.
