  1. I actually took a historic steam engine out of Chillicothe Ohio to Camdem Park about 13 years ago. Must say it was quite an oldfashioned experience. Old time train and classic small family park. Felt like I was going back in time. The Dipper was great and ThunderBolt Express was pretty good too. Shame to see it go by the way side, but glad the Dipper is still running great. Nice to see a traditional old park hanging on, kinda rare anymore.
  2. Sorry Combat I was paraphrasing. Atleast everyone still remembers the dumbest thing ever uttered on this site...
  3. I have missed ridding Sonnie while at FearFest. Love a good cold night time ride on that monster. The numbness helps lessen the pain.
  4. ^ That there Clark is an RV! Now don't you go getting attached to it, cause we are taking it with us when we leave here next month... From the greatest movie ever...
  5. Not to be a complete @ss, but... Skywriter, your posts are almost impossible to read because of the horrible spelling and gramar. I am not asking for perfection, but come on preview your posts before putting them up and if you dont see your errors, work a little harder in english class. Neo, did everyone blow up and die or have you overexagerated this story? Just curious, because I really dont see anyone freaking out on IJ:ST that much nor being able to climb out. Kinda cozy in those seats. Would love to see that lady freak out on Mummy when the entire room is on fire. Back to the original topic. Like said before the flame does not add that much light to the surrounding area, because it shoots straight up in the air with nothing to reflect off of. Also I would guess that it was either having technical dificulties with the flame. Maybe someone can answer this question. I know with Volcano at PKD they turn the flame off when there are high winds. Makes sense they would do the same for IJ:ST, but do they take the wind in to considerations since it is not that high off the ground.
  6. Even with them not having an interest in GWL or the land I could still see Cedar Fair building a new campground on some of the land they do own surrounding the park. Something along the lines of Light House Point would be very nice, plus I think it would be a very welcome addition to the park. Because I will not visit any park that doesn't have a camp ground or other lodging choices...
  7. Its been that way both times I have been there. So I just turned around and didn't do it. Not worth wasting my time when I could go through one of the other houses again.
  8. My order of not to miss attractions at FearFest 1. Asylum 2. Cowboy Carnage 3. Massacre Manor 4. Headless Hollow 5. Circus of Horrors I agree pass on Psycho Path, basically the same it has been for a few years and the groups are just too large. Kinda kills the whole lost in the woods experience. Dont miss going through The WorkSite and CornStalkers. Both are great attractions with very short wait time.
  9. Glad to see something for FearFest finally made its way to the Action Zone. Also very encouraging to see how FearFest has changed on an almost weekly basis this year. Almost as it was a first year event. Honestly its a great change to see with the park.
  10. Right, they are in debt, but they also have more cash flow and income now because they basically doubled in size. Also every ride listed was from a park besides Cedar Point, showing that while in competition with other parks and other companies Cedar Fair still focused on their other parks and Cedar Point at the same time. I am not saying that Cedar Fair will implement the Six Flags strategy and build a new coaster every year at all of their parks and then 10 years down the road will be almost bankrupt. Instead Cedar Fair will continue their strategy of improving every park every year, everything from minor repairs and beautification to new attractions. Just because Cedar Fair has more debt doesn't mean they will stop doing what they know best and I think the list of recent additions is a good sign of what to come in the future.
  11. I know some people think that Cedar Fair may not invest greatly in Kings Island ride wise or that they just spend the majority of their money on Cedar Point. But here is what Cedar Fair has installed at their other parks in recent years. I would personally take any of these coasters at Kings Island. Coasters Patriot Mamba Silver Bullet Xcelerator Hydra Steel Force Talon Renegade Steel Venom Wild Thing Shivering Timbers Spinning Dragons Other Rides Meteor Screaming Swing Power Tower Detonator ThunderHawk Supreme Scream I personnaly would love to see any of these additions at KI. If Cedar Fairs past record is any sign of the future I am very excited just to see what kind of rides KI and other former Paramount Parks will receive. Should be good times ahead, especially factoring in everything else that Cedar Fair brings to the table.

    Crowds

Fridays are not crowded at all. Makes it very easy to get everything done. Especially now that they are making people wait to go through the WorkSite and CornStalkers. I highly recomend Fridays, dont have to deal with all the maddness that is Saturday.
  13. Glad its back, I was going through withdraw I need my PKIC fix on a daily basis when work is slow
  14. Love the fact that Psycho Path has been ruined once again. Makes for a great experience when you go through with 50 other people. Hey look at that guy up there with the ChainSaw wonder what is coming next? Guess I know what to skip this weekend.
  15. No you cant expect him to turn the chain around in a year, but what has he done so far to deserve a raise? Just think of your work place. If your company is going under does your boss deserve a raise?
  16. Sounds great to me. Will be submitting my application.
  17. Hope there are many more Birth Days to come...
  18. When you say show up to all of the events. Do you mean events on line or at an actualy physical location? Just curious how the game is setup and actually played. Thanks for the info
  19. Ohhh custom Intamin Trains. That sounds kinda nice. CedarFair wont just tear this ride down before the try and improve the ride experience. Also I am just curious as to what the demolition costs would be compared to the cost of new trains?
  20. Yup, funny the Redskins stink to high heaven and they just keep throwing more and more money in to that team. Not really fixing the problem. Same can be said with SixFlags. Throwing more money at your CEO really doesnt seem to solve the problem. Just wondering how much longer SixFlags will be able to limp along, before someone or something puts the company out of its misery. Well atleast Mr. Shapiro is making money off of SixFlags, because nobody else is, especially the stock holders... Garbage in Garbage out
  21. The seat belts were actually rerouted on the trains so larger guests could not fit because of an acident involving another Intamin coaster. This is the one thing I still dont agree with Cedar Point doing. One accident that wasnt determined to be because of the restraints, yet they still have not gone back to the original configuration of the seat belts. People that rode Millie when it first opened are not all able to ride it now because of the much smaller belts. I noticed a huge change in Millie when they rerouted the seat belts and that it became a very tight squeeze and in no way am I above average in weight just have the build of a line backer.
  22. Wicked Twister Stopper Heres a picture of the actual stopper at the end of the Spike on Wicked Twister that I mentioned in an earlier post. This way if you are launched with too much speed the mechancial stopper will absorb the additional force and keep the train from going over the edge.
  23. Just speaking along the same lines. I love ridding Wicked Twister in the front and watching the end of the track come closer and closer on the forward spiral. Not to mention that the stoppers on that track get bigger and bigger the closer you get to them. That ride always gives a great feeling of your going off the end of the track.
  24. CedarFair does not use their other parks to foot the bill for the coasters at Cedar Point. Example Patriot Talon Steel Venom Xcelerator Silver Bullet Hydra the Revenge Just to name a few. Wish KI had something like any of thsoe.
  25. You will have a great time PKIBeast Just get ready for a big crowd. I reccomend Aslyum as the one haunt not to miss. Very cool and disorienting, will make you jump, and good luck getting out if you have someone leading the group that has never been through. Oh and is FearFest Scary? Seriously what kind of question is that. Is Winter cold? is Summer hot? Hey is that kettle black? If FearFest wasn't Scary do you think it would be in its sixth year?
