^ ^ ^ Agree completely. DD has the best que of any ride and the massive que makes for one of the shortest lines in Florida

I think their dedication has created a site with members that all provide excellent content to the forums. One of the few fan sites where the forums provide great information and fun dialogue. Nobody gets uptight or takes anything personally in the forums. Really it is a great community and I am glad to hear it is in good hands. Hope the Admins get to meet Mr. Kinzel next year and that he will appreciate PKIC as much as PKIs management has. Truly excelent job and I see it only getting better.

I just wish they would open it back up because it is very cool. Hopefully CF reviews the que area and decides to open it back up. Might be one of many changes we see next year that will be good for the park.

They will move corn hole indoors and then charge an even more ridiculous amount to throw 4 bags of corn at a theme park when most of us can do it in our backyards.

For Cedar Point this is considerd focused on theming, because if you look at their other coasters there is very little theming. Honestly they have always been put in a twisted mass of steel or wood do some landscaping and you have a new ride. This is really their first attempt since Disaster Transport to theme a ride. I don't count TTD as being themed because that was just the trains and a drag christmas tree. This is truly a ride focused on theming for Cedar Point. -
^ ^ ^ And its a d@mn good ride. Anyways KI has gotten a good sum of money from their lawsuit against the builder so things aren't as bad as people make them out to be. All the hatters out there just need to deal with this SOB and besides the fact it fractured some sternums its not that rough when it isn't broken. Like I always say go ride Texas Giant, Villian, Ragging Wolf Bobs, Mean Streak, Drachen Fire(not possible) and then we will talk about something rough. Sonny is pretty smooth for being as tall and fast as it is. Oh yeah its wood too.

^ ^ ^ Are you trying to hookup with HauntGuy??? Sorry couldn't help myself. FearFest is a great time, you will love the atmosphere of the park and the haunted attractions. Honestly is the best time to visit. Have been to everyone atleast twice sine the begining in 2000.

Yeah I am still considering about the trip, but getting the time off work, getting the wife to get time off work and things like that make it dificult to commit to something in 2007. Still I would enjoy to go, but I will be a last minute addition. Also I need my PKIC name to be in Red Text Still Maverick will be ridden next year by Mr and Mrs RailRider, just possibly not with the PKIC group. Well and CP does a better job with upkeep on what little themes they have and also with just general park apperance in general. Not knock KI, but CP is better. -

^ ^ ^ Ya know early on I thought the same thing. Build another record breaker and boost attendance, but I have been chewing on this all day. Honestly Cedar Point has been building record breaker after record breaker, Millie, TTD, Wicked Twister, etc, but what has attendance done during this time frame? Actually it has gone down. Maybe Cedar Point has realized there are more folks out there that dont want to ride the fastest, highest, newest greates thing. Instead they want a better all around experience. Quite honestly they seem to have taken a play from Kings Islands play book. This honestly, like I have said before sounds like an IJ:ST on steriods. Well themed, great experience for everyone, thrilling, and of course 2 launches. I am wondering if we are going to see Cedar Point less on record breakers and more on overall rideabillity and the attraction itself. -
I just wonder if the entertainment will be like they have at Cedar Points HalloWeekends. They have a really great comidic magician who does some really neat illusions. Would love to see something like that added.

Honestly, I think everyone will be impressed with what Cedar Fair will do for KI. They have put in some very nice rides at their other parks and I expect to see the same at KI. Plus KI may finaly get their first B&M or Intamin coaster in the next few years. Just look at Xcelarator, Talon, and Patriot to just name of few of the excelent attractions Cedar Fair has instaled at their other parks. KI will not be shortchanged by this new ownership. -
So basically Tim Burtons Nightmare Before Christmas, except on Steriods? Cool links, but more disturbing than scary... Kinda like the whole clown thing except worse. Still like the Wasteland idea better... Thats just me though
-
Bring the Pain... I love Sonny A rough ride on Sonny is better than a smooth ride on Vortex any day. ^ ^ ^ Thats going to make some folks flame. Hit me with it...
-
Thats hilarious. "Hey buddy keep that Turkey Baster away from me." "Oh my god is that Tim Alan as Sant Clause? Run!!!" Who needs disfigured mutants with chainsaws... Im already scared...
-
That kinda stinks if Holiday Horror is taking the place of Wasteland. Really sounded like a great idea and Im not real big on the idea of a scarezone that sounds like a bad Tim Burton rip off.

Honestly not a big surprise, but great news non the less. Expect to see Dick Kinzel walking around KI next year a few times. He is very hands on and it makes perfect sense to keep the HQ in Ohio with 3 of the larger parks headquarterd there. Kinzel is so hands on that he actually live on the point. The big mansion that sits on lake erie and is also viewable from the east side of the parking lot is his place of residence. Not to mention that the CF Flagship park is here and so is the old Paramount Parks flagship park here. Makes perfect sense. 3 parks, 3 huge water parks, and one musem (carossel musem in Sandusky) located in Ohio for this company, makes good business sense.

PKIBeast thanks for kicking me when Im down The layout and looked very similar to what PortAventura is building this year and it all made sense. I guess nobody counted on CP not breaking any records with a coaster. Still looks like a great ride, love the enclosed 2nd launch under the station aspect. Looks very cool. I will only go on the trip if PKIBeast and I have free roam to spread rumors about parks and also allowed to use obsurd amounts of sarcasim -

Well seeing as how we cannot speculate and make outlandish claims and add to the rumor mill, I think that fire is now out, maybe just smoldering a little bit. I think this will be a lot better than IJ:ST, just think if this was being built at KI how excited we would be because this would be a huge instalation for KI as compared to CP. I was just checking out the Maverick website at CP.com and this honestly looks like a great ride. The trains look really great and I love the ride animation. I think I would categorize this as a Terrain Ultra Twister. Anyone think they overpaid just a little bit? 3rd most expensive coaster at CP... Almost for what they paid for Millie. Avatar, Concerning rough coasters, Cedar Point only has one coaster in my opinion that is really rough and that is Mean Streak. That thing just shakes and shakes, I honestly think it is worse than Son of Beast. Then again it is designed after Texas Giant, which is absolutely the roughest woddie I have ever been on. Hands down. I left the park after ridding that thing because of how sick I felt. Never had that happen before. -

In regards to the LSM vs LIM. Both accomplish the same thing in regards to launching a coaster, but a LSM is more efficeint, doesn't require roll backs because the LSM units act as their own braking system, and the LSM units provide more torque than an equal number of LIM units. Basically the LSM is the new technology that is becoming more and more favorable with builders. One draw back that it does have is that it requires very senstive senors when compared to the sensors that a LIM coasters uses. So timing and things like that can take a little tweaking to get done properly. The Western Theme fits in well with the Frontier Trail and Frontier Town areas of the park. I will be the first to admit that I expected more out of Maverick, but am in no way unhappy with what CP is putting in. No more throwing Gas on the fire.... -
Website looks cool, but it looks like they still have some work to do on it. Interested to see how the the FearZones turn out. Looking like CF may have influenced this more than what was thought. Can only hope this is a sign of things to come.

Well the line for the Tower was huge. The ride up in the elevator was very cool, because once the lights hit the glass windows you saw bloody handprints covering the glass. Once at the top the attraction was longer than expected. They had quite a few twists and turns and a few scenes where the actors would stop you and make you watch them torture their victims. All in all a very good attraction, my wife still says it was the scariest attraction ever. Think that had to do with the fact they would try and pin guests along the outside wall so you had to look down and that they sent through very small groups. Very up close and personal haunt. Very cool attraction, unfortuantely the lines and capacity were the issue.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if SDATHC became rethemed to SpongeBob SquarePants in the future, but I love SDATHC yet still miss Phantom Theater espceially on a cold day.

2000's did not have blood and gore throughout the park, only inside the haunts. The big difference between 2000 and 2003 besides quality of haunts; was less props and scense throughout the park, less fog, and fewer actors roaming the park.
-
^ ^ ^ Thank you very much I also would not refer to it as "that crap" because honestly besides some skeletons, fog, and other halloween props it is not gory or disgusting at Cedar Point outside of the haunted houses. So if you find this stuff offensive than enjoy the entire day at the park with your family and then leave at 8. Lets compare Mickeys with Universals. Whose is a bigger draw and more talked about. Popular doesn't always mean better, but in the world of business it equals more dollar signs. Cedar Point will stay with what works and I am glad about that. I could go on a rant right now, but this is not the forum nor the topic. I hope that for the sake of FearFest that Kings Island regains some of the terror it had in 2000's FearFest and stops trying to please everyone, because from the lines and the crowds 2000 was pretty successful without the family friendly approach. Not to mention the scaretainment was fabulous.
-
HauntGuy, I could not agree more with your description of the 2000 FearFest. Absolutely amazing. I honestly had never seen so much fog before and can only imagine what the fog bill was. Also I feel that because PsychoPath stayed I feel that it has never lived up to the first year nor in its current state will it. Bring back the massive amounts of fog, the decerations everywhere, the actors throughout the park, and forget the family friendly stuff after dusk. I just remember how amazing it was walking in to the park during 2000 at dusk and seing how I-Street had transformed, it has never looked that good since. The erie glow over the park and the foggy haze. Not to mention the haunts were first rate and acted very well.
