  1. Most of the theming elements were probably built off site also. Might just need to be trucked in and set up for permanent display. Honestly wouldnt think a lot of the themeing elements would be assembled on site.
  2. Anyone else noticed how slow construction on Maverick is going right now? They have been installing the LSM's and linning them up for almost a month now. Very tricky launch system to set up and get right. Along with the theming it makes perfect sense as to why Cedar Point started construction on the ride so early. There are some great pictures on Cedar Points dedicated Maverick site showing the instalations and linning process that the LSM stators require. Look at the maze of cables and wires coming off of the launch track. Definately would not want to do that wiring during the middle of winter.
  3. I just hope SF isnt bitting off more than they can chew with Crique. If guests are misled in to thinking this is the real Cirque and then they see a subpar product I could really see this hurting Six Flags
  4. would definately like to see a trip report. enjoy your time
  5. ^ ^ ^ I thought the same thing about the production company. I wonder what type of quality this show will truly be. Should be interesting to see how the show works and also how the entire production comes together. Lets see if Shapiro can earn that bonus he received.
  6. Well if anyone could screw this up it would be Six Flags. Heres hoping that they make something work for once, because Cirque would be a great addition to the parks. It will be interesting to see how this works out and to see if Six Flags stays comitted to it.
  7. True, but also a park of that size and with that many rides is expensive to opperate. Besides the simple daily opperation expense, there would also be a great expense in getting all of the rides in reliable opperational order, which is unheard of for sfmm. So once a company were to buy sfmm, which would comand a high price because of its size and number of rides, they would then have to spend a great deal to get the park running more efficiently and also spend a great deal to keep the park that way. SFMM got to big during the wars with CP and they completely neglected other areas of the park during that time. Hence their problems now.
  8. Heres a question of the obvious, but where are all the footers at KI for X Flight? Oh thats right it will be mounted to trailers so Cedar Fair can randomly move it from park to park every year.
  9. Yes that was a great time. I was lucky enough to see Alan Jackson on his first apperance at the Opry.
  10. Busch Gardens is quite an odd pick for all of the top spots. Love em, but still Also the game looks pretty bad... Thank you Geroge Lucas for Episode 1, idiot...
  11. Yes the clasic place for Six Flags to put a ride, in the parking lot. I always love the new addition of a ride and instead of theming it just put it in the parking lot. Ohhh parking lot the ride...
  12. I love the offseasson for its rampant speculation... Great time of year.
  13. This is why I hate Six Flags Lets sell our parks so we can build another mall or condo community. This is one thing that has always infuriated me. The worst example ever is when Gaylord Entertainment redeveloped the land that Opryland USA sat on so they could build a new Mills mall. It is just another mall, nothing more. Ruined an absolutely gorgeous park with great rides and entertainment for a stinking mall. Folks, Opryland had better entertainment than Dollywood, Disney, or anyother park. So how bad of a decision was this for Gaylord? Well they have currently bought over 120 acres that sit adjacent to the Opryland Hotel. They also recently trademarked Opryland USA. Hmm looks like someone is thinking about building a new park. Thanks for ruining a great one in the process. Idiots...
  14. Vortex rough??? Haaa!!! If you ever rode Drachen Fire, you would know Vortex is not rough, actually you would consider it glass smooth for an Arrow multi Looper, although Tenn Tornado is the smoothest Arrow multi looper I have ever been on. I rode Drachen Fire 7 times in a row without moving on the train. I felt like I had a concusion afterwards. Still that ride had a great layout and was a blast. Shame that its issues never got worked out. I still to this day have not figured out how you can design a coaster yet not ride them or even like ridding them. No wonder a lot of Toomers coasters have roughness issues because of the transition from element to element and that he never rode them. Im going to go bend some wire and make inversions to honor Mr. Toomer.
  15. Oh my god we are getting X-Flight from GL and they are converting it to a B&M inverted!!! That is amazing, I cant wait to ride this one of a kind cross between Vekoma and B&M!!! Adding to the rumor mill, who will bite?
  16. I actually had a similar experience on Flight Comander. Given I didnt fall to my death, but when I flipped it over I slid to the side we rolled over on and also my legs came over my head. The restraints were sufficent enough to keep me in, but still fet extremely unsafe on that ride. Also about feeling safe on Zodiac, I acutually always felt unsafe on that ride, because of the chains holding the gondola. From growing up on a farm we used logging chains that size all the time and yes they do break and they are easier to break than you would think. This is the same reasson I rarely will get on a sky ride, because I dont trust a single steel cable with my life. Snapped a few quarter and half inch diamter cables also in my time. Give me rails and Im just fine.
  17. Walker Texas Ranger : The Ride Things we wont have to look forward to under Cedar Fair...
  18. Yeah this would be the right place for us poor pathetic loosers that are obsessed with KI, Coasters, and Amusement Parks. Yes I am one of those loosers by the way. Welcome to the club, enjoy yourself, and have fun. You will notice I enjoy using sarcasim, some understand it, some dont, so what. But in all seriousness this place will make the off seasson much more enjoyable.
  19. Today I declare myself Czar of Amusement Park Safety. Only parks that pay for the protection and good publicity that I, the Czar of Amusement Park Safety, can offer will be known for their squeaky clean safety record. Disney has already turned my services down and just so happens that while at the park today a 10 year old boy was eaten by Dumbo and his other magical flying elephant buddies. As Czar of Amusement Park Safety I offered my services to prevent this from happening. We now see witness to what will happen when parks reject my services. Sincerely, Czar of Amusement Park Safety...
  20. I have heard this talk also. Actually I think it was mentioned by HUSS when they announced their bankruptcy. So the good news is that they have made progress with the bankruptcy proceedings. This will hopefully lead to the instalation of some new Huss flats, I just hope that they get some of their mechanical issues worked with their rides. They provide a great ride experience, but the downtime their rides have can just be infuriating.
  21. Well lets put it this way. If X-Flight was being dismantled someone would have already taken pics of it. People dont take pics of a coaster just sitting there with nothing going on during the off seasson.
  22. Golfer, Your an Idiot. Obviously don't know the first thing about Cedar Fair or the industry in general. Dont call a company a bunch of Cheapos when they just acquire a few new parks.
  23. This isnt Six Flags or even Paramount Parks. Cedar Fair really doesnt believe in moving rides. Let alone a signature attraction at a struggling park. Yeah that makes sense.
  24. Just becasue this rumor has spread like wild fire on these and other boards, doesnt mean its true either. Im not sold till I see the Flying Dutchman in the park. Sarcasim, a terrible thing to waste...
  25. And the word of God spoken from Screamscape. Well guess our rumor mongoring is over. Geesh no fun in the off seasson
