RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Well dont look for anything real soon, seeing as DB is a huge investment. So look for some cooling off before KI gets anything major again for a few years after DB -

Do you not go to school that often? Or does your school just start super late? The post i just quoted and many of your other posts are posted on weekdays around 9am-1pm. Or do you just post at school? Sorry to get off topic.. Beast1979, didn't your mom block KIC on the home computer? -

Welcome, glad you decided to make your first post. There should roughly be 15ft of clearance at the bottom of the first drop. Afterall we are talking the rails are 15ft above the ground, not the box spine which drops a few feet bellow the track. -

Love the lifthill goodness. This thing is going to make a lot of Nickles for the park. -
Terpy, you have sent me in to a rage, just bringing up the memories of my beloved Opryland... To this day I cannot understand what the folks at Gaylord where thinking. They quoted loosing guests to Dolly and SilverDollar as the main reasson. Still cannot understand that logic when like you said so many of the residens of Nashville head to Holiday World. Biggest reasson is because it reminds them of Opryland. Oh for a spin on Chaos, still one of my all time favorite coasters. I used to visit Nashville and Opryland every summer, stay at the Opryland Hotel, cruise the General Jackson and go to the Grand Ol Opry. We would then make the return trip for the legendary Christmas in the park and the hotel. Now that the park has closed I have been back twice, both for Christmas time. The mall is a joke and is doing as well as Cincy Mills. Thank you Terpy for twisting that knife just a little for me...

WOOD YOU BELIVE IT? CEDAR POINT

I know it is rumored and almost confirmed at this point that GCI is doing the retracking. New trains, that I am not sure about. Would be nice to have some Flyers on it. -
WOOD YOU BELIVE IT? CEDAR POINT

We are actually referring to MS being smoother than Texas Giant, which is why I said if you complain about SoB you have never ridden the Texas Giant. -
You've got Diamondback questions, he's got Diamondback answers!

Thank you once again, Mr. Helbig. What an awesome feature to make this even more interactive with guests. I have sent my question and eagerly wait for a response -
Reading the numerous articles, I find it hard to believe that the crew going up the MF lift are not wearing saftey harness nor are they secured to the structure. Whether it is CedarFair, Six Flags or any other opperating park I dont see that not being incorporated. Anyways dont most builders provide the necessary safety equipment for ride inspection or maintence, at cost or negotiated in over all price. How about the B&M Ball, now wouldnt that be fun to take for a spin?

Wow, where do I start on this theread. I go in the basement for a weekend and all heck breaks loose. Diamondback and its design could land it as one of the best B&M Megas around if not the best. Also could ticket it to the top of a list that awards awards. Like they say can't please everyone all the time. Side note the new DB Blog for today mentions that by the end of the week the lift hill will stand around 200 feet. That is exciting -

Ironic dont you think? -
The radar located on the sign on the engine room/cable building. This is a great shot of it from the grandstand thanks to coaster image. Monroe, once again thanks for the education.

WOOD YOU BELIVE IT? CEDAR POINT

I could not agree more. Mean Streak was built to be similar to Texas Giant, but thankfully it is nowhere near as rough. Thats why I never thought SoB was that bad. Take a spin on the Giant and you will know the meaning of pain. I just hope that GCI can unleash the potential of MS, it could be a great coaster. -
The Entrance to The Beast (Bring Your Camera)

I hope they do an entrance plaza for Beast. That would be really neat and a nice addition. -
At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)

Well thankfully for the seassonal parks, the seasson is almost over. Time for the economy to turn around. I think this summer the regional parks like KI, Cedar Point, and Michigans Adventure benefited from the weak economy. Rather than go to the beach, folks went to their local amusement park. Terpy my friend, I dont see the economy hurting parks too bad yet nor next seasson. I dont think the economy is that bad yet. Plus I think when parks start opening up next seasson the economy will be starting the recovery process. -

Discretionary spending, whats that? Going to be a lovely Holiday Shopping seasson. Everyone will cut back and the market will continue its drop because of poor retail numbers over the holiday seasson. -

This has been rumored for some time now, good to see it looks like Mean Streak will get the retracking love it so needs. Now lets hope the folks at GCI can work some magic and revive this wooden monster. -

Well the fog has lifted, but depending on the amount of rain the ground may not be suitable for lifting today. I dont think it rained that much though. -
Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I was just checking out the webcam and you can start to see the track finally. Must remember that Diamondback is situated in all those trees and in somewhat of a valley. I think the fog will tend to hang around Diamondback back in the valley which could make it an even better ride on cool nights.
