  1. The Addams Family Coaster would have been very similar to Mystery Mine at DollyWood. Very similar.
  2. Just because you do not see great progress through the webcam dont assume there is not great progress being made. After all there is much prep work and detailed work that needs and is being done currently. The station is a great example of this work, the various electrical hook ups, conduit to bury, concrete to pour and numerous lines to run. Not all progress is meassured by track erection, after all the erection of a coaster is probably 10% to 15% of the total work that goes in to developing and building a major coaster.
  3. Nitro is around a 30 degree lift hill and Behemoth is around 35 degrees...
  4. Drop or Ascent? Why does it matter about them? I speculated that DB would rise at 45degrees and its only 40. Still a very steep lift when you consider MF is 45.
  5. ^ ^ It would be absolutely awful if Cedar Fair bought Six Flags. Seeing as Cedar Fair is having growing pains with the Paramount purchase, could you imagine the issues with Six. After all they had to cut GL loose, because of a majority of the issues Six created at that park, you will see those same issues to some extent at other Six parks. Not to mention that CF would shortly go under after acquring Six because their cash flow would freeze from the massive debt load. I am confident the CF will steer clear of Six and the only possibility I see is them possibly acquiring a park or two during bankruptcy. I would be all for CF purchasing a single park that has a coaster with a Night Row
  6. Scary thing, even with the piece that is going up the lift still isnt topped off. This thing is huge and the lift hill will look amazing with the steep lift going up and the very steep drop.
  7. Yes. More seriously, B & M likes to use aeronautical terms.... So true, know if they could just introduce the Bent Cuban Eight in to their inversion play book.
  8. I think the leak is getting bigger. Yup this puppy is going under. Terpy I would agree about the buyout or takeover. I would look for a company overseas to acquire SIX and they will then trim a lot of fat from the company.
  9. What made me want to buy? Simple, insanely cheap price about a week ago when it was hovering between $12 to $13 and they have been trending a 3% attendance increase this year. Also early reports from Michigans Adventure recorded record attendance this year. Looked to me that FUN stock was severly undervalued and by this time next year I see it being in the mid to high 20's
  10. I leave all coaster errection questions to the fine folks at Adena.
  11. MarketWatch Here IESB.net Here Variety And Here Orlando Sentinel The ride sounds very similar to Spiderman, which might be the reasson it is slated for Universal Hollywood and Singapor and not Orlando. Plus Orlando has Rockit and HarryPotter opening around then also. Cant go wrong with another Universal and Spielberg colaboration.
  12. Those are almost our thoughts exactly, seeing as how she is growing up so fast already, we want to start now. She watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and My Friends Tigger and Pooh, so to bring those characters alive for her would be amazing. We shall see, because next weekend we are taking her to MickeyMouse Clubhouse live in Columbus, I think she is going to absolutely love it and will just make mom and dad want to take her to Disney sooner than latter. Can't wait for the next installment.
  13. I refrain from correcting the general public or the uninformed. I figure ignorance is bliss, so I let them be happy in their ingnorance. Nor do I need to waste my time correcting someone when I know that about 90% could care less. Save the hassle, move on.
  14. Honestly I hope the Tower Gardens errrr Paramount Story errr Tower Gardens, stays a nice secluded area of the park. Just needs some landscaping here and there. I am glad to see this is where the Walk of Fame is going and I would love to see the addition of nostalgic items from the parks past. They have something like this at Cedar Point in the Town Hall building. I honestly hope KI returns the Tower Gardens to a nice relaxing area that you can get away from the crowds. Most big parks anymore have bulldozed these areas for rides. Hopefully this never happens to the Tower Gardens and it continues to evolve.
  15. Interesting and at the start of the 2007 seasson Paramount merch was 60% off.
  16. Yeah, why you were off to Disney we made a quick trip, although the cost of Niagar is overwhelming, so your Disney trip was a bargain. Easy to do in 1 day and the Canadian side is a must, just insanely expesive. Zoe is getting to big to fast, thats why I have started planning our Disney trip already.
  17. Great TR so far. I have been looking forward to this since you got back. This is helping us determine if its too soon or not to take Zoe on a Disney Cruise and Land trip. Love the timeline pictures of Rae from 06, 07, and 08. Your giving me ideas. Thanks for a great TR so far and I am patiently waiting for the next instalment.
  18. I greatly enjoyed the lattest blog post from Don. Although I am a bit saddend my calculations for the lift hill were off 5degrees. Although not 45, 40 is quite steep. The second hill sounds even more insane now. Almost 200' and diving in to the ravine it will pick up a few additional mph over 80!!! The second hill may end up being a massive air time hill also. Final observation is that the rendering of the Splashdown pool sounds like it was made to be very true to life. I think the splash with the landscaped pool will be one of the most amazing visual features on the ride
  19. While I agree the park had a multitude of problems, they never had a chance because nobody outside of enthusiasts or folks heading in to Myrtle Beach knew about it. You cannot expect to sustain or survive as a park if you plan on only advertising to folks on their way in to MB. We saw more billboards for other attractions in MB than for HRP. I still cannot belive they didnt advertise heavily in other markets. I have a good friend that lives in Charlotte and he did not even know HRP existed. I asked him to talk to his coworkers and see if they had heard of it or had seen advertising for HRP. Nobody except 1 person knew anything, and the person that did only knew cause her son is a big theme park fan... Even if HRP was the worlds greatest amusement park when it opened, you still have to advertise when its brand new. Nobody to spread word of mouth and no pre established notions like Disney has. HRP had the responsibility to market and drive guests to the park. Instead they failed on the marketing and never touched the market to bring people to the park. They failed in generating the buzz. Just think back to Islands of Adventure and when it opened, compare the marketing there with the marketing of HRP. HRP doomed themselves from the begining.
  20. Looking good. Also Beast1979 that was a concrete pumper placing concrete for the final floor section of the station. I thought some lines would help on the protractor image, hope that helps. I used 45degrees as the lift hill ascent. Steep lift, but even sharper drop
  21. Learn SOMETHING,,, ha, this whole plane from day one has been we are different, we are better, we are not effected, the park will go on. Every single park that has opened and failed has the same mindset and rather than deal with the issues pushing against success they continue to move on. Out of sight, out of mind.
  22. Also leads to Darwin Award Winners.
  23. Looks like the permits are finally almost complete. WTRF.COM Still pushing ahead with the park, Im amazed honestly at how this plan and place keep hanging around.
