  1. Really theres not much to say, but thank you for sharing with us. No better way to start the day at work than by tearing up. Thanks...
  2. Depends on what type of ride or coaster, also depends on where the handles are.
  3. Thanks for the info and the offer. I really appreciate it. Avatar once again showing why he is one of the best members of KIC...
  4. Cost saving meassures, light bulbs cost nickles...
  5. Hmm I figured the Rivertown Mining Company building would be incorporated in to the que or entrance of DB like Maverick, not torn down. Very interesting. I wonder if that means the photo spot with The Beast logo could be returning?
  6. Closing your eyes, now theres a great way to induce motion sickness, yet folks continue to do so. I raise arms in air for rides. Except for Vekoma and Arrow Brace Positions.
  7. I think CBS is happier to be in the business of licensing their brands and let more knowledgeable folks run the show. Very true Terpy, the future of KI would not be so bright if things would have gone unchanged.
  8. I would imagine we go during the fall to early winter in 2009. So gives us a year to plan and I will do most if not all the planning myself. I really enjoy that kind of thing. I just have to learn Disney. I am use to planning Universal, so there will be a learning curve and some research. That just makes it even more fun. Auge.dog, with our large family trip to Orlando rather than staying at any of the parks resorts we rented a home for the week. AllStar Vacation Homes are amazing. Close to all the park, will accomodate as few or as many folks as needed. We had 12 in one house and were not crowded at all. We ended up spending about $100 per person for the week in lodging. Not bad at all.
  9. Let me see if can gauge it accurately I would say. 85% positive 15% negative Does that sound about right? Althought DB for me takes it to about 90-10
  10. But a poor entrance cannot take away from a World Class Attraction...
  11. Well its officialy the offseasson. Let the insanity begin. 2008 was a great year, but 2009 has promise to be even better. I like the direction of ye ole amusement park.
  12. Yes one can hope. Then again I look at Firehawk. These are my expectations.
  13. SFNE is taking the transformation of SRoS viral. Pretty interesting idea and will give fans something to follow during the off seasson. Clawshun Industries
  14. Just put the old sign up and some new paint here and there and I am happy. Expectations met.
  15. At first glance I know this may not have much to do with theme parks, but I think this speaks volumes as to why SIX has struggled under Dan Snyder and Mark Shapiro. They along with a 3rd partner have taken an interest to Tom Cruise and are listed as executive producers on what is expected to be one of the biggest flops of all times, Tom Cruises Valkyrie. Yes the same Valkyrie, that depicts the planned assasination of Hilter during WWII. Who doesn't want to see Tom Cruise as a Nazi during the Christmas seasson? This movie has been hammered by critics, studio insiders and the like and is being blamed for the downfall of United Artists and others. So maybe Dan Snyder isn't the business man we all though, especially if he thought it was a good idea to get behind this movie. Hmm the downfall of SIX makes even more sense now, because the guys running the show may lack some sense. Washington Post
  16. I just had to quote this to preserve for posterity sake. RailRider saying Billy Ray Cyrus in concert would be great. <G> WooferBear ... Sad to Say he went to see Billy Ray (many moons ago) at the ChiliFest. Well yes the line up is great even if it isnt your style of music. We are talking about some of the most iconic Country songs around in this line up. Achey Breaky Heart, Devil Went Down to Georgia, and God Bless America. Still relevant performers and will put on a great show. Well worth the price of admission...
  17. Interesting, but after this topic and various others on the sight. I have noticed a trend regarding folks ridding The Racer more and enjoying it more this year. I find it amazing how an older ride that doesn't get they hype or glory like Beast, Firehawk, SoB, or Vortex, but still is a classic favorite. I would assume riddership was up this year, but I would love to see the exact number compared to last year. Really fits the parks theme for the seasson, Something old becomes something new.
  18. Sorry, I forgot what the topic was. Oh yeah, the line up for the Freedom Concert looks great. Billy Ray Cyrus, Charlie Daniels, Lee Greenwood, and Michael W. Smith will be performing. I have seen a few of the performers before, but Lee Greenwood puts on one of the best shows around. Very passionate and energetic, not to mention he is a great artist. Still one of the best shows I have ever attended was his performance at the Lee Greenwood Theater in Sevierville TN, absolutely amazing.
  19. Good to hear, the station could definately use it. Although Im sure with the abuse it gets from guests that could be an anual thing.
  20. Letting guests walk under coaster track increases the chance of bad things happening. Mainly guests on the ground getting hit with stuff or trying to touch the track. Really from a liability standpoint the farther you can keep somone away from the track the better.
  21. Beast1979, you forgot about Viking Furry and possibly Flight Deck getting the KO. I thought we were suppossed to drop The Vortex rumor, glad to see your coming around to my side... Hmm isnt the giant B&M Hyper enough for 2009?
  22. School of Rock was a very sucessful Rock Show at KI, err PKI. I wouldn't mind seeing a show like that come back. Dont foreget though KI had Endless Summer on Ice this year, definately not your average singing show. I wouldn't mind a new show along the lines of Cirque, with moderation. A stunt show would be a neat attraction and since RiverTown is a Wester Town now they could do a Cowboy stunt show...
  23. Yes it is very regretable what happend to those folks, but that is the risk of going to a new park like that. I feel a lot of smoke was blown to a lot of people. That smoke never materialized to what was promised. Very sad the situation now, but the next question is can and will a buyer come in? I would imagine a private investor or investors, possibly overseas, that would then bring someone like PARC Management in to run the show. PARC also knows the MB market already so it could really make sense for them to be involved
  24. Welcome aboard. I think you will find this to be one of the best online communities around. Enjoy the off seasson and the Platinum pass burning a hole in your pocket.
