Italian Job in the Enquirer Again
Oldiesmann replied to MarketingExpress's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Reclaimer - I agree with you about that guy. I think PKI is smart to do this. Otherwise they'd have tons of people complaining that they spent 5 or 6 hours standing in line and never got to ride it, and how they could have been riding other rides instead, etc. -
I also said 4. Whoever said "1" should be banned from the board

Yes, there was a big rainbow at the entrance to HB many years ago. Who knows whatever happened to that.

That's great I love the "comments" from Fred...

Official employee calendar says it's the 5th.

For those who have never been to Holiday World, it's really easy to find... Just go straight down I-71 to Louisville, then hop on I-64 west for a couple hours. It's right off I-64 (there are plenty of signs in the area).

You might be able to walk onto some rides next weekend. A lot depends on how the weather is though. I wouldn't count on being able to walk onto too many rides though.

I'm working closing shift both Saturday and Sunday, but plan to arrive early enough to catch this show. Should be a good one (better than that country show they've got).

Hmmm... a "designated farting area"... interesting idea... The people from the games in Coney Mall and the photo people in the front of the park can be annoying at times, but that's just something you have to live with. I haven't really noticed any rude employees, although I haven't visited PKI more than about 6 times in a season in several years. I do agree that employees shouldn't be discussing non-work-related things except on break, though. This is my first season working at PKI and I absolutely love it. Even when guests are being rude and/or obnoxious to me, I try hard to be polite and smile. I started the "annoying guests" thread because I thought it would be fun to discuss annoying things some guests do. I was not trying to imply that all guests are annoying. The majority of guests are not. There are just a few who stand out and seem to be going out of their way to annoy us, and those are the ones we're talking about.

I doubt that the lady will have much merit in this case. Amazing how The Vortex is still one of the most popular rides in the park... As for that Shakespeare quote, it was this one (courtesy of Google)

I sincerely doubt that such a thing is possible. You're going to have to support all that wood somehow, and wood is nowhere near as strong as welded steel would be. Plus, it would require special rails and probably special trains as well, so it would be quite expensive.

According to this, it was where King Cobra used to be...

I would also recommend giving PKI this lady's name and number so they can deal with her however they want. I'm not sure how they would get your information, but I agree that it's best to direct this issue to PKI and let them handle it. If it were a marketing research firm of some sort (there are several around here), it would be different.

The pre-recorded spiel for Drop Zone was most likely made by Paramount. I would assume that the others are made by the park, Paramount or the company that made the ride.

One time I saw someone hop over the fence there by the first curve on The Beast (the one right out of the station) to get their basketball. Too bad no employees saw them.

Information on Runaway Reptar Operations
Oldiesmann replied to Spider and the Fly's topic in Kings Island
Sid - I apologize for the misunderstanding. I understand your frustration, and hope you get the information you're looking for. PKI generally has 3 people on each coaster - one driver and two others (one on either side of the train) who check restraints and seatbelts. There are a few exceptions of course, but most coasters have three people. -

Sorry for the confusion Dane. I don't actually know anything about Reptar, although I know people who would. Sid - just have your rides manager call PKI and explain the situation. I'm sure whoever answers the phone can direct their call to the appropriate contact person. -
Why didn't you come visit me when you were in HB??? I was there from 9:15 til shortly after 4 on Saturday
-
You should come down here and ride our Tomb Raider some time. Much cooler than the one you guys got stuck with
-
I doubt they'll remove Ghoster Coaster. That ride is quite popular. Everytime I'm working over at Alley Cat 500 I see a steady stream of people going for that ride. Plus, Scooby Doo is also quite popular at the moment (Cartoon Network is currently airing three different Scooby Doo series...).

I've got long legs, so this really isn't too much of a problem for me, but I have had similar things happen on Son of Beast before. Not fun at all.

Sid - Please read my response to your other post in the employees only section about this. The information you are requesting is not something employees would willingly give out via email.
