  1. I worked for Kings Island for 6 years. The things I learned working there have given me more assitance than anything I learned in College.
  2. Yup! It was Kyaak Pools. That's when a lot of the rides had specific sponsors.
  3. Probably Winterfest as I've been waiting ooooohhhhhhhh so long for it's return.
  4. Yeah! And the fact that Kings Island uses Carowind's Skytower in Winterfest descriptions is just fine.
  5. Worked for the Department of Human Services for 7 years. You go check out the park any spring/summer or fall day between 11am and 4pm. You will find an area that is completely filled with business people having meetings/lunch and doing work.
  6. I don't think that the WiFi on the Square is really aimed towards you driving downtown and sitting on Fountain Square. It's aimed towards the people that work downtown and use the square throughout the day.
  7. Good thing the Chippery is gone then.
  8. Funny Story! Before I moved to Atlanta, had a buddy up to visit from there. I took him to Skyline. (as ya always have to experience Cincinnati food when you're in town) They brought the three way out to him and he told the waitress that the amount of cheese on it was "obscene." LOL, the waitress told him that some fok even order extra cheese!
  9. Nothing as Disneyland Moscow is not yet opened.
  10. Great Ride that really should have lasted for ever. Very sad to have seen it removed. Maybe they can remove SOB and put in a flume that is similar to it.
  11. Can't imagine that they would do the fake surface. After the first Winterfest, the ice freezing technique had been perfected and they can maintain a solid frozen surface with temperatures well into the 60 degree range.
  12. Yup, that's exactly how it was done previously. They'll put buildings up towards the front of the fountain to rent skates and to sell hot chocolate/etc.
  13. It was a drunk guy that dove from the Band Stand. He was taken to Bethesda North.
  14. In 1992 the park was owned by Paramount. The park started staying open later when Paramount took over operations.
  15. The park used to be open until September. Not October. Set up for Winterfest ALWAYS used to start the second week of October.
  16. Well, used to be that the Carousell was open as was HB Carousell. They ran Enchanted Voyage as well.
  17. I'd forgotten about the Bananna Splits characters. The Wilma and Betty characters were out so infrequently that I didn't include them. Those costumes were so small that I imagine that they were probably females in those costumes as well.
  18. Yup, check out my list above. Captain Caveman was one of the most popular.
  19. Well since Paramount is appartently revisiting idea's of the past. There had been an idea on the table to keep at least a portion of the park open year round. Maybe they will look into that in the future.
  20. They're probably saying good bye - good luck with all the Nick stuff.
  21. All the characters had free access to the park. Let me see - I remember all the following at the park: 1) Scooby Doo 2) Jabber Jaw 3) Barney Rubble 4) Captain Cave Man 5) Dino Mutt 6) Yogi Bear 7) Hong Kong Phooey 8) Quick Draw McGraw 9) Fred Flintstone 10) Snagglepuss 11) Huckleberry Hound 12) The Smurfs 13) George Jettson I may have missed one or two - but those seem to be the ones that were out and about the most.
  22. Well, within time most locations will be WI FI. There are not a lot of places in Atlanta that you can not latch onto a signal to sign in.
  23. Now I worked at the park during that time period and don't remember anything like that.
  24. Probably so. This was in the mid-80's. The parks allowed free access for their employees and offered special events for each others season pass holders. As it was explained to me, it was a way to keep employees and to generate new business.
  25. I wonder if they still let Bush Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominon Season passholders to do special days in each others parks? That was something that used to be popular. It was also nice that Kings Dominon workers and Bush Gardens workers were able to go to each others parks enterchangably.
