  1. Yes Because they want fresh fruit Maybe because Mr Licastro does not run the dry side of the park Sorry I could not resit, maybe someone else may have some better answers than I.
  2. Terpy I know for the past two years we have been able to buy a decent size fresh cut fruit salad at Boomerang Bay Outback Shack. I often remarked that I thought it was one of their better deals, we often bought a shrimp basket (If they remembered to prep them that day) and a fruit salad and split it up between us. P.S. Let me know if I am not helping.
  3. Now if they would just offer a better deal on Discovery Cove, other than the basic $50 off for booking 45 days early. I mean that is OK but you can pretty much get that all the time. We have penciled it in to do for our upcoming trip but that depends on the deal and since September is the off season, I am hoping for a better deal.
  4. You know I have met you ladies three times now and if they were to give awards for consistency you guys would win hands down. Oh you probably would like to know why right? Well every time I see you ladies, you guys are extremely friendly kind and positive about Kings Island, I enjoy talking with you two and I bet you guys are a blast to hang with when touring the park and riding rides. Kings Island is lucky to have two guest like you ladies touring their park and enjoying it as it was meant to do. Now you said you had those pictures and I am glad you went ahead and shared your before and after pictures with us. It really helps us see the transformation through pictures, what a great idea. KICentral really has so many creative members and I count you fun ladies in that group. I look forward to chatting with you both more in the future.
  5. bzahlong – Thanks for taking the time to do a report, it's good to that you'll be getting back in the game. I am sure with your background you have a lot of valuable knowledge and will provide that information when needed and when it's appropriate. Look forward to hearing from you and hopfully see you more at the park.
  6. Glad to hear you had such a great learning time and took the time to share your trip with us.
  7. For a destination tourist spot only being down 5% is not that bad. What does this mean for us, I'll tell yeah; some great deals and when things pick back up we most likely will not see these type of deals again. Also keep in mind if you are watching the stage show in front of Magic Kingdom and there is normally 100 people in front of you, there will only be 95 people in front of you now. Many families on the boards and in there reports are saying they have noticed little attendance drop but Disney has ways of tightening things up to make it appear busier that it is. Also in the article it mentions Mousesavers dot com and if you are going anywhere in Orlando I would make sure you maximize your savings by checking here web site often. That is where most Disney holic's get a lot of their money saving tips.
  8. Clbehymer – We are always glad to have fellow members join us and fortunately for your key problem or we would have missed you at Jungle Jims. As for the windshield in the rain may I refer you to violakat03 PTR http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16425 in particular Zosobeast reply complete with a picture of said event. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=273756 And to answer your question directly, maybe my reply will help you understand better http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=273786 We are glad you came and were able to get to know you better and to find out how much of an amusement park enthusiast you are. Just in the short time we had I realize you really have a lot of stories to add from all the places you have gone. Maybe a trip report from you sometime in the future.
  9. Luff – This past weekend when several of us was eating at the GWL your last trip report was brought up and was discussed a bit. I am glad to see post another one. Wow Magic Mountain looks to have several coasters and some fun rides. In the pictures it looks like they all have some decent themes to their rides, is it as well theme throughout the park or was it just in the areas of your picture taking.? I like the picture of you and your wife, what a great cast members to take the time to help you have a photo of a great memory. Noticed your beautiful children were not in any pictures and no mention of any children rides, so it sounds like you and the wife got some great quality time together. Does the wife like coasters as much as you? Lastly Mr 6, oh man I like that character and wish they would use him more. He makes me smile and laugh and envy his enthusiasm. I have a copy of that song and every time I hear it I can see Mr. 6 dancing in my head. I see he must of made an impression on you as well as seeing you have a new avatar. I'm so envy. Luff thanks for another great report and sharing some great pictures of a park so far from us.
  10. Oh man were do we start. First; Ronny between your school schedule, helping with the tour spending time with your family long drive back to school and then doing this report I bow to your dedication and organization skills. You never disappoint when with your photography skills and in the first part of your report, I particularly liked the one with Diamondback stairs in front of a well focused Eiffel Tower in the background. Now for part two of my thoughts of your trip report. I guess I have a new watermark for my photos, thanks for that and I hope it does not get old for members when viewing my future pictures. The Dash Cam photo of us had me rolling for a good five minutes, Miss Rae was asleep on the couch and I woke her up laughing so hard. Priceless! Bill warned me that he thought we would get bored after about an hour and half but I was surprised there was not a dole moment the whole time. When amongst friends you can have a blast doing anything. Riding the drop ride with Nemo and listening to his antics on the endless ride brought me to tears by the end. I am with you Bombay I hope more members join in the fun in the future, it was hard to figure out who was staying for Soar and to invite those rushing to their cars to escape the cold. I would like to thank; Don for taking the time to do another tour, Dane and Ryan for there work in keeping us informed and being there for us. The KIC moderators for all your hard work behind the scenes. Special thanks to Cory for the help planing the after tour organization. Ronny for being the best Jungle Jim guide EVER! (we would have missed ¾ of the interesting things there with out you). Bill for his driving and being such a great guy. Special special thanks to Ronny for the funniest trip report ever!
  11. Please keep in mind we are not just talking about a ride but a new highly theme area, ride, restaurant, shops and roaming characters. The Orlando area boards are very excited about the new additions I will be very surprised to see it fail (increased paid gate admissions) at this point, even if it ends up being over hyped. Universal will pay dearly for the name though. One thing for sure is it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out and not just for universal but also for their local competition.
  12. Bill – thanks honestly I had tears coming out of my eyes watching the drop part of the video. Each time we thought the ride was over it went up again what a hoot. The whole day and evening was a blast, the things Ronny and me haft to do just to get other members to join at these after event get to gathers has reached new heights, I mean promising to do windows in the rain!! I wonder why they never join us again. Also clbehymer was the girl in the JJ picture. She is no armature to the scene, she has a lots of different park experiences and has tons of stories to go with them, she is what we call a fellow amusement park enthusiast.
  13. Finally – it's just not Sunday until Terpy links some industry news articals. Thanks Terpy.
  14. Zach – Awesome Photos!!! I am really impressed with the quality and selection of your pictures, it really looks like you took your time to get just the right angle and that you were total focused in getting the best shot possible. You know I always enjoying chatting with you and I am glad we did not get enough time to visit or we may have never gotten to see your beautiful pictures. I really enjoyed your report and look forward to more from you, just awesome. Avatar
  15. Thanks Ryan it is always good to read your blog, as it gives us enthusiast another opportunity to see the industry through another angle and to learn more about it. I really appreciated this last one and your description of the speakers and their backgrounds. Thanks and keep them coming.
  16. Tomkatt7 – looks like your daughter enjoyed her blue cone. Those blue children cones are huge, it looks like your daughter ate so much that it tuned her eyes blue.
  17. J. D. first let me say the ride over and back was very uneventful from my last trip to KI, sorry you were not unable to attend, you were missed. How cleaver you are in thinking to do a web cam PTR, just more of your creative side coming out. I can not believe you would make a statement in your title of your report of "Probably the most boring TR ever". I think your Web Cam trip report was enjoyed by many who were not able to attend and gave them an idea how things went and also gave them a precursor of PTR to follow later by the attendees. If I was doing a report I think I would have started with a link to your report to help set the mood going into the report. While Waiting in line for the go-carts at Crazy City I checked in to see if anyone did a trip report yet and your Web Cam trip report was a big hit among those there. Can you imagine 9 people hovering over a cell phone looking at your report, I wish you had that picture. Hey again sorry you were unable to attend and I truly enjoyed your cleaver report.

    Park & Vine

I was going to put a review in Ronny's announcement thread but now I think it would be better to put it in the original post above. So if you have already read the report above please take a moment and go back to read the review at the bottom of the original post, titled "Avatar's Personal Review of "Forgotten Cincinnati" Exhibition.
  19. A few years ago I got the opportunity to meet a fellow KICentral member Ronny Salerno. Since then I have gotten to know Ronny better by chatting here on KICentral and by sharing many laughs and memories with him in and away from Kings Island property. I noticed Ronny had a natural ability to take creative and interesting pictures around Kings Island and around the community he lives in and we have watched his hobby turn into a serious career path opportunity. As I have enjoyed seeing his photos over the past six months in some of his photo journalistic projects, I noticed his technical skills had vastly improved to match his natural ability to take interesting photos. I have remarked several times that I felt many of his photos where of quality I would expect to see in professional publications, in fact I had mentioned that one day I would be able to say I know that guy who took that photo. On January 10 of this year Ronny announced to us that he and Sherman Cahal would have an Exhibition of their work on display called "Forgotten Cincinnati" at a store called Park & Vine I was unable to attend the exhibition opening night but wanted to go and see one of Ronny's first exhibitions just as soon as I could, I thought I would have made it over by now but work schedules have prevented me to do so before today. I set my GPS to the address but for some reason it took me a bit northwest of the store and noticed the area had many boarded up abandoned buildings. I think this mishap with my GPS actually helped put me in the mood for the Forgotten Cincinnati exhibition. As I pulled up to the Park & Vine store I noticed the area had construction going on to revitalize the neighborhood but the store still had that old time river city charm. As I entered Park & Vine immediately to the left my eyes where drawn to a well lite exhibition photo display on a beautifully green painted high ceiling wall. The store is a earthly green store and uses cardboard shelving to stock some their well stocked unique earth friendly merchandise. The shop keeper greeted me and introduced herself as Sandy and then explained the concept of the store. I thanked her for the greeting and let her know that one of the exhibition photographers was a friend of mine and that I was in from Indianapolis and wanted to stop by to see his work on display. Sandy went on to tell me that they have really enjoyed having the exhibition in the store and that they have had many conversations with shop guests young and old about the photographs. I noticed that the prints were for sale and many with the frames. In the next picture I noticed a blank spot on the wall and thought that photo must have sold with the frame and could not help wonder what that picture showed. I asked if I could take a few photos and Sandy gave me permission to do so. I shopped around the store and picked out a print from one of Ronny's photos. I wanted to buy something from Park & Vine one to show appreciation of their support to the community, but also because as a small business owner I feel it is important to support other small business. Sandy talked with me for a bit more and told me about the neighborhood revitalization and her love for the old theaters and buildings in the area. I really enjoyed my visit to Park & Vine and glad I took the time to experience the atmosphere they provided. As I got back in my van and pulled away from the Park & Vine I realized that I would never be able to say "I know the guy who took that/those picture/s". But I will always be able to say "I am friends with the photographer who took those pictures". Ronny you are a inspiration, I enjoy your work and the life lessons I have learned through you. Your Friend - Jesse Avatar's Personal Review of "Forgotten Cincinnati" Exhibition. Upon entering Park & Vine the exhibition was in clear view and seemed to work in harmony with the working retail store. The Exhibit was well lite and it was easy to view both the photos and the write-ups the photographers had done of their photo's. The store had very high ceilings which allowed the exhibition to display above many of the stores merchandise. This was OK but the only draw back of this was Ronny Salerno's pictures where shown horizontally in a frame with a 5x7 picture in it which made it more difficult to see the top pictures. The size of the pictures I think was good and I'll explain that after my review of Sherman Cahal photos. Sherman Cahal framed photos were much larger and easy to view from anywhere in the store. It seemed to me that most Sherman's photos were focusing on some old or tarnished well used objects. I thought the way Sherman photographed his objects created curiosity and memories from old logos. I felt that many of Sherman's framed photos would look nice in either a home or a commercial setting. Ronny Salerno's Photo Exhibition I thought was well placed and I liked how he used uniformity to display his photographs. I feel many of Ronny's photographs have an artistic flair to them using natural light and sight lines which to me made his display work cohesively with his photographs. I also like Ronny's choice of using 5x7 photographs for his photos because as I viewed his photos I felt like I was being drawn into the picture and even found myself leaning into the picture to see more details. Now the beauty of Ronny's photos is that in many of his photos he uses natural lines and angles to help capture interest in his photos and I found myself stepping back a bit to get a better whole picture look. The best way I can describe my experience of viewing Ronny's photos would to describe like a Hologram. His photographs had a different viewing experience and that depended on your viewing distance. I enjoyed looking at the photos and often stopped to think back of how the subjects would have looked in earlier years. I will finish this review by saying when viewing Ronny Salerno and Sherman Cahal photographs parts of old Cincinnati is not forgotten.

    New Orleans TR

What a wonderful opportunity you had in going and it sounded like you had a great time. I really like your pictures and the action in them.
  21. Congratulations KICentral .4,000 registered members!!
  22. The thing is when thinking about what to invest in at this time, I would be looking for what will give me the biggest amount of return when the economy picks back up. I think most of the amusement park companies will fair out but I think the big returns will be in other industries. So maybe the FUN and DIS stocks are good safe bets over the long term but many will put the money in more income potential stocks.
  23. It seemed I remembered this story a while back so I did a quick search and here is what turned up. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...ate+headquaters Search is your friend
  24. Below is a picture taken recently of a behind the scenes tour of Manta which is a B&M too, it is scheduled to open in May. In the picture they show a contraption to simulate ride parameters. Link to site with more similar pictures. http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/manta0.html
  25. For the record I have been getting more and more excited with each day and with the updates that we have been provided. I am pleasantly surprised with some of the landscaping around the area and would love to know who is doing it. I have absolutely no problem hearing others opinions good or bad especially when it is done respectfully. Sometimes it's good to hear others opinions and I think that others would find this board fixed or has a group of over excited members if all we heard or read about was all glowing reviews. It's good to hear both sides and a lot can be learned from it.
