I agree with what you are saying Interpreter as I re watched the old commercial and I must say the older commercial really resonates with me as a family man. The message is very clear in that one and entices me to want to go more than the new one.
-
Well to be honest “I like him” and when the music plays I can't help but watch and smile. Now have said that I did not care for his voice in the commercial ad. The thing is his image is one that I associate with fun and watch, which in turns means if the majority of the general public see him the same way and watch the commercial then they are getting their money's worth. I think Mr. Six in Luffs Avatar and photos of his recent trip report is better than the one in the commercials.

Trust me Terpy more patrons of Matildas and others should consider trying apparel on before going into Boomerang Bay. This is also one of those bitter-sweet events I point point out often. My wife has said today when I asked about dressing rooms at Girls Space on International Street that there are not any there and also added she has passed over some items in fear they would not fit properly. So now I know that this lack of changing rooms has saved me some money can we please put a positive spin on this somehow now.
-
Terpy – you really need to hang out in the water park area more! At Matildas shop in Boomerang Bay they have a couple dressing rooms there. Also it seems the lager sizes are more sparingly there as the smaller sizes are plentiful. That might be because the bigger sizes have sold already but I do know the smaller sizes are well stocked at Matildas. I do not know if the shirts are of the coaster lover variety though.

It's best that I do not watch the Web Cam in it's current objective. The only time I would really have/make time to watch it would be when they where installing or testing certain aspects of the ride, but that seems to be when the camera is being tested for other positions or other miscellaneous consequential technical problems. This would be way to frustrating for me to watch on a regular basis and then be bummed for not being able to see the things that I would have liked to seen the most. I understand why miscellaneous consequential technical problems need to take place. I am really thankful to those who have the patience to stick it out and then share what they feel was important, otherwise I would have missed it all.

Tigellinus – sorry to be so long to reply, I have a hand held device and typed out a reply earlier today and as I was getting towards the end someone called me and wiped out my post before I could submit it. I thought about retyping it on but thought your question was one I could answer when I got home and could use the regular keyboard and without risk of losing my post again. To answer your question now; I-74 has been for the most part clear all winter including the area around the new Honda Plant. During the week they some times have interstate 74 down to one lane while they do some work in the median close to the Honda plant, but it has just been more of a reduced speed with no back-ups and again it is sporadic. As we get closer to Spring anything is possible I have noticed many new median guard rail installments popping up all over the state recently and they are usually quick installations of a week or two. In the Cincinnati area yes the I-275 is still going on and is much the same as last year although they are making progress. On weekends it seems to flow better and and close to the posted speed limit. During the week I tend to try to avoid the area and definitely use the express lane if I travel in that area. The difference between I-70 construction and I-275 is they closed all ramps and prohibited all Tractor Trailer traffic. Also keep in mind Indiana is flat and most of the roads around Indianapolis run straight north to south and straight east to west. Where as Cincinnati has a more rugged terrain and with many roads twisting around the terrain, you'll find this out if you ever get off the interstate in and around Cincinnati. The I-275 area under construction has a lot of commercial business and would make closing that hi-way off to Tractor Trailers a major mess and create a bit of chaos. I think as hard as it is to endure I think the improvements and slower progress to keep commercial traffic flowing in the area was necessary. If I notice any changes in the upcoming months I will post here to tip you and others off. P.S. Clbehymer thanks for chiming in, now I have a question for you; What did you mean by “obviously” ???

After reading this thread I was trying to figure out a way to say exactly what terpy said but after reading his post there is no way to top that so right on Terpy. The only thing I would add as it pertains to me is, What I liked in my younger years is different that what I like as I am getting a bit older but still young at heart.

^ You know what they say; "you can take the boy out of Disney, but you can't take Disney out of the boy". LOL – I like the way you think Delorean Rider or should I say Capt. Nick.

What Amusement Park do you want to visit most?
Avatar replied to DropZone99's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Not to sugar coat it anymore than it needs to be but I am sure the great folks at Kings Island would want you to try an elephant ear for yourself. Hey don't take my word for it, hear it for yourself as I am quite sure Miss Rae will be having her first one while she waits on her daddy to come back from his first ride on Diamondback. As for which amusement park I would like visit the most? As many as I can, but since I have made plans to go to Busch Gardens Tampa for later this year and all the wonderful things I have heard about it, I guess that is my pick. Although it may not fall into the amusement category I am really looking forward to going to Discovery Cove the most, as many may know I have a fondness for water parks. -
“I never plan out my visits to the park” I love hearing that and know many parks do too. Not that I follow that statement, because sometimes I do sometimes I don't but I almost always have a least a very basic plan depending on that days festivities. But I always hope that nobody else has a plan because if and when I have a plan I count on others who don't.

Yes it was a long line opening day last year but giving credit to Kings Island the line did keep moving. I did post a video in a trip report I did last year called Time To Smell The Tulips I did pan to quickly in the video and glad I learned that lesson early in the season, so I am adding a couple pictures form that day too.

Rex and The Beast, first it has been nice having you guys checking in and sharing your thoughts and offering useful information with us all. I will be particularly interested on your thoughts on the new ride Diamondback, Kings Island and your experience leading up to and including April 18, 2009. I have toured your site and it is great to have fellow park enthusiast sharing this time with us especially with others who have many expanded park experiences as yourselves. It sounds like opening day is going to be a blast. I hope we get the chance to say hi and I will keep a look out for you guys up on the platform for first rides. I guess the question is; what color RexBeast.com shirt is Rex going to be wearing?

Thank-You Todd For taking the time to answer my questions, your feed back was exactly what I was looking for. I had an agenda planned and it had a couple hard parks placed together, with your advice I have reworked the front half of the daily agenda. Per your advice on IOA I decided we should go there on our arrival day and then go to DeLand to stay with my brother for a few days. Below is a basic Picture Itinerary I have put together to give me a better feel to the flow of the vacation. If you have any suggestions just let me know, at this point with the advice I gotten from you I am very comfortable with everything but a bit concerned about SW, DC then BGT. Dolphin Swim is a must for us and just a bit worried those three days may be to tiring, unless you think DC is somewhat relaxing. Todd there is no way to express to you how much you helped and how appreciative I am for you taking the time to answer my questions. I may have a few more detailed questions as most of the non-Disney parks we have not visited in 15+ years. If you don't mind I will ask those through e-mail and will provide the questions and my personal info to help make your answers a bit easier and possibly quicker for you. With much gratitude - Jesse

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Avatar replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Plus it probably depends on were the other trains are on the course at the time. Right now they are only testing with one train. -
Correct same building just divided the side facing Rivertown is fairly busy and the other side is much smaller granted very clean I have had to wait in line a couple times last year and eventually went to the other side. Something to watch out for down the raod. Either that or that is why they added the creek running down to the splashdown.

In his e-mail he says a new restaurant, just keep in mind it is just replacing one. Don has not said anything about a price but did say during the Diamondback tour that it still will be a buffet style with some new food items and that they where going to fix it up as far as the interior wise. I don't know how extensive the Rivertown Junction will be compared to Wings but seriously anything will be an improvement. He did not say when they plan to open Rivertown Junction, unless I did not hear him. I think it would be great to have a one price and eat all day as many other parks have started to offer. I worry about another area facility of Rivertown and Nickelodeon Universe. Currently as it stands there is only one bathroom now to be shared by both areas of the park. That bathroom sits in the middle of those two sections and is usually quit busy. Parents who have small children know how important it is to get to a bathroom when their children express a desire they need one. I worry with the new heavy traffic in the area and with many guests waiting for someone, that the existing bathroom may not be able to handle the increase, especially thinking about young children and there particularities.

Jbissallon – Hello and a big KICentral welcome to you, I know most of us members are always happy to have more members joining in the conversations about our favorite park Kings Island. I hope you stay around and offer some of you insight on the many various topics here. If you have any questions this site has many friendly members who will be happy to help. I have used nicer ways of saying it, mostly in January. At this point I guess I must just be fed up with non-stop newbies posting old information. Sorry if I came off as yelling or anything, but I am running out of wire on the newbie explosive. Jackson – every single year about this time and through June this site has a lot of new members joining, this is a good thing and in fact, the main reason for this site and the friendship this site has with Kings Island is to help educate and inform the general public. I hope this site continues to have large numbers of new members as it will lead to a stronger community and hopefully more visitors to Kings Island.

Thanks Todd, I appreciate your opinion in the manner from your unique perspective and proximity to the Orlando area. No this trip will be our first time to Discovery Cove, but we have always wanted to go and have heard nothing but praises about the park. You gave me some touring advice last year and it was very appreciative and I found it useful. I frequent other Orlando park sites and read a lot of reviews but I always but much more value in what you have to say because I have read many of your post and have a better understanding and trust with you. Such as your review about the American Idol, in it you are quit frank about your thoughts before and after the show. I hope all that does not sound like a suck-up because it is the truth and I would like to ask your opinion about a few things I am contemplating on our annual Orlando fall trip (your opinions do help me). We always do the Disney free dinning and will do so again this year but will be renting a car for the first week of the trip to visit several off Disney property parks. We plan to do 13 different parks over 17 days, including water parks which are put in between the hard parks. So like SW then Aquatica then BGT. We won free tickets to US and IOA so I would like to use those especially to ride the new coaster at US,. That make things a bit tight but we did not intend for it to be so but hey free tickets. We always arrive at rope drop and enjoy a whole park experience rides, shows, dinner and special daily events (parades, fireworks ect.) My question is and since it is the off season, is there a non Disney park that you feel that we should plan for more than one day? Two, Do you know anything about the BGT free bus service from SW? Does it get to BGT before rope drop or do you recommend that we should drive our self? Three, because of trying to fit everything in we will need to do one of the non Disney parks on a Saturday (hard Park) do you have an opinion which would be a better choice to do on Saturday over the others? Four, anything else you may want to add or not. Like I said I really value your opinion and that is why I am asking you and not the other Orlando boards. I am very thankful for your time and advice on my questions, take your time in responding if you can. Jesse

Yes it was a wonderful article and actually seemed to be filled with more facts than most. Thanks for pointing out the article to us and it is great to see you guys giving back to the community. I think it is great to see Mr. Hague putting up so much money for the ride and the money is going to a good cause but it just seems odd to me that they make a big deal out of some companies bidding then donating while other enthusiast want to ride. It makes me confused like if I win a bid should I donate it or do what the enthusiast side of me wants to do and ride it. It makes me feel odd to admit “I want to ride”, but it is true. I wish there was a special train that held more A Kid Again recipients that I could help donate a seat to for a fixed price. I think it would be great to see KI offer a special train to large bidders of their own and have a company representative ride with A Kid Again recipients. I would love to see 100+ trains pull out of Diamondback if it meant more money to a great cause.

Nice picture thanks to everyone who made that happen. Those guys have a unique job and are highly talented. Thanks Gordon Bombay for your explanation, I went back to the picture and looked for the pre drill holes. I appreciate and enjoy pictures so much more when someone points out some of the less know facts about what we are seeing.
