  1. Oh come on, Steve Perry is still alive so it can't be that bad. As for Fossil the ride? Well that is not that bad of an idea. Fossil the ride, powered by HHO (Maybe that is what the splash down is for.)
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip1zsUIosoA I don't think that you want a coaster named Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' but here it is.
  3. ^Valley of The Beast has a nice ring to it. The only name with valley in it that I can think of is: Hidden Valley Ranch. But that does not sound meaty enough. (Oh great now I am hungry). The Other name I was thinking of was: River Snake, be careful of its bite and its venomous spray!
  4. Well I was going to wait to see if KI was going to have a naming contest for the "new attraction", what ever it may be. But as most have noticed in the "rumored coaster for '09" thread a lot of people already are throwing names out. I thought that I would start this to lessen the strain on the other thread. Just post your name and theme ideas here, and when it opens the one who is closest can have bragging rights. Name: Crazy Horse Theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyRiNZDb5EY (Thanks to Thrill_Biscuit for the song)
  5. When I was working in Norwood for my first co-op assignment, I was surprised at how empty the parking lot seemed almost every day. Granted, only very rarely did I pass by on a weekend, but even then it seemed like the cinema wasn't receiving much business. Last time I was at Norwood, the seats were in your car and you could choose what movie to watch, east or west. If you didn't like the movies then you could fog the windows, or go and play in the play area. Ohh the memories of the twin!!

Well I am not that big of a Bullock fan, although "Too Close for Comfort" was a good show and I think it was because of him and Ted Knight. I used to sing Bill Monroe and other Blue Grass songs on the front porch with a pilot friend of my fathers named Monroe Charles Bingum. You had to call him by his full name or he would not answer you, he was from Louisiana. The sing a longs became vary popular with the neighbors, and every one started calling me "Little Monroe". This was well before 1970, so Bullock had nothing to do with it. This was our favorite song.

Get in the car with my daughter, go to the park. Enter the park, ask my daughter what she wants to ride. If it is some thing that I will ride, get in line. If it is some thing that I will not ride, find a bench and wait. If we miss any thing, we try it next time. This works great, because we never rush and have a nice and relaxed time.
  8. He has stated before in interviews that he does practice, but only jumps about 50 to 80 feet.
  9. Another thread asked the question if it will be on TV. I looked and I can not find any station that is going to have it live, but I did find out that Channel 5 will be streaming it live on the net. Any one else hear about other LIVE streams or broadcasts? (Good for me, I am out of town) At the end it says that they will have a live stream. http://www.wlwt.com/video/16378812/index.html

You really know how to give some one a head ache don't you? Cranes, and now you mention Clyde's name. I think I will just go to bed for the rest of the evening.

You would be greatly surprised then. With B&M's quality program, it is hard to find steel of such high grade out side of the US. Both Clermont Steel and another plant in the US fabricate for B&M and have shipped track over seas. The only other country that B&M will have track made in is Germany. with the weak dollar, it is very economical for overseas companies to manufacture in the states and ship it out. as far as quality steel, most american steel mills are foreign owned and our technology has been sent all over the world. even the american companies have a presence overseas. the company i work for operates robotic scarfers that improve the quality of steel before final processing. i just returned from slovakia where we installed one at us steel in kosice. i leave monday for a severstal mill in cherepovets, russia. severstal is a russian steel company thats owns the old rouge steel plant in detroit. the quality of their steel is very much on par with ours. the only steel that is still subgrade is china, but they are catching up. Yes you are correct ser. I was specifically talking about B&M's quality program. In their case one term comes to mind: You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
  12. I remember a story that my grandmother had told me. She worked in the Regency Room at Shillito's when she retired from Millicron. Well, Jerry came in to buy some dresses for his wife. Dropped a few thousand dollars and she said he was one of the nicest people to wait on. Yep Jerry was and still is a very nice guy, very charitable, and knows when to turn on the actor in him. I was referring to the time he paid for a lady of the evening with a check and it bounced. He was even elected Mayer after that. Got to love the people of Cincinnati.
  13. Jerry's great, just don't take any checks from him. Normer on the other hand, when the camera was off was not all that pleasant. I tried to get her to participate in a charity event and she did every thing but cuss me out. I only asked her once, all she needed to do was say no and I would have been gone. I hope she was not that way with her family.

  15. If it's dead it moves to the head. If it burns you will learn of it first. After all we live by the journalistic creed: Your right to know supersedes your right to exist (Man I miss Burbank)
  16. ^It is more like a vote to them than an issue, but as long as they have you thinking that way, they have accomplished their goal. (That goes for democrats and republicans alike). fryler87 you explain yourself well and the graphs are a nice touch. The biggest thing we have to remember is that oil prices have followed the value of the dollar and not inflation. When the value of the dollar was high, then oil was low. Now that the dollar is low, they raise the cost of oil to compensate for the low value of the dollar. I am actually surprised we did not hit $5 a gallon yet. In other words: In comparison to inflation, we are not doing all that bad, just about 10% more than what was projected about 10 years ago for this time. In comparison to the value of the dollar, we are about 100% less than what was projected about 10 years ago for this time. The value of the dollar is what is hurting us, not inflation.
  17. The air show used to consist of hot air balloons, a couple of bi-planes and a DC-3 in a C-53D-DO configuration for the parachute jump platform. All sponsored by Firestone, I know the C-53 still exist and was last seen in 2005, it was stationed in Wilmington. I do not know what happened to the bi-planes or balloons. Here is the plane, this says that it was taken in 1979 but I think it was more like 1989. It had a fresh paint job in 1991 when I saw it in Cleveland. http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0728...=&photo_nr=
  18. Sorry Mr. Bombay I will not take it any further. I will say that the middle class is the largest class of people and leave it at that. Time for me to shut up before I get into any more trouble.
  19. That chart just shows the real reason for the gas prices being so high. The U.S. dollar is suffering hard, and we are loosing value to the Euro, and even the Yen. But then again we all know that the President whose family owns oil fields that produce industrial oils and NOT gas, tells OPEC what price to set oil at. The problem with the U.S. dollar is only going to get worse before it gets better, and neither a republican or democrat is going to be able to solve it. We must come together as Americans to solve the problem, make more things at home and stop giving financial aid to countries that can't and will not pay us back.
  20. ^^Some people can work their a$$ off and still get no respect. Just be careful that we don't jinks the trend. I feel like Rodney Dangerfield. ^Pat can be a show off at times, I'm glad they hired a qualified teem to do all the hard stuff. (Unlike some other projects from the past)
  21. ^No not with this ride. It will not have any more down time than any other spinning mouse.
  22. As for the music on the Carousel, the Band organ has not worked for several years and parts I think have been removed. The Band organ is actually older than the Carousel, it would be nice to see it fixed. See this thread for more info, and maybe the Coney Island thread since it came from Coney. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...=Carousel+music
  23. ^^^So you are expert # 4515, I was wandering who you were. By the way the word "FACT" should be used very lightly around here. Some people care where you get your info and will ask you to state your source, and others will just laugh at you.
  24. ^A went better with the joke........Ya hoser.
