Or the Bavarian Bob Sled(spelling and name?)
  3. That might be the policy however not always the way it went..... Early 80's there was a requirement to take breaks however those were not always enforced. There was also a cap on how much overtime you could work but this was often over looked. This was the way it was in rides. In the 90's in entertainment dept the cast and crew all took breaks at the same time for obvious reasons. They were strict on anyone under 17 years of age who was in the shows. they had to be clocked out by 10. We were not on hourly wages. You signed a basic contract and was paid salary, this was the same for cast and crew, you had a in and out date. Since most of the cast was from other States they left when contract was up. A lot of local cast and crew would stay after the contracts to earn extra money. However in the entertainment dept breaks and such were strictly enforced! Not the same for rides back in the day. But then again a lot of things have changed since the 80's. I think I will write a blog on the 80s to go with my website....lol
  4. I was getting to the point after riding it 3 times per visit i was getting sore alot, then I rode in the first car and I was surprised how smooth the ride was, it was awesome...!!!!!
  5. Is boomerang bay included in the standard KI gold pass?
  6. I would like to get 1980 thru 1982 park map if anyone has one for sale.
  7. True Mike, but I would go to KI even if it was a parking lot with only 2 rides, I just love it.
  8. I want to check it all out also, however I wouldnt go to the job fair if I wasnt planning on working there....
  9. Mason had no business sucking in KI like they did. kI should be its own little incorperated town.
  10. Mine is a backstage pass for being a runner at the Beach Boy Concert at TW.
  11. I'm working at Bubba Gump's this year! Awesome you working the back bar? I am sure you will see me alot....
  12. Or better yet, sit and drink beer on the patio behind bubba gumps and people watch....
  13. I live a few minutes from the park and drive by it everyday.... Can not wait until it opens.... I like to take the whole park in not just the rides, I like to go sit in old coney on a bench and people watch...
  14. This year if anyone finds the "plumbers crack" a little drafty please email me I would be glad to furnish you with a belt....lol
  15. Please do NOT take my post wrong. Everyone has the god given right to dress the way they wish and that is cool with me, but not when you are representing a company and within the public image!!!
  16. I agree 100%, I hate it when i am there and see an employee try'n to be a wanna be gangsta with their pants down their ass. It is like, you are working, go buy a belt!
  17. I had a rehearsal tape before the show went live that they used in practice.... came from the sound booth, found it in 1999 while we were doing a clean up at showplace. And tearing down the black metal framing from house of groove. But I have no idea where that went. Cool thing about the entertainment dept. You started in February and left early December so you really didn't have too much time off. And you were paid salary not hourly....
  18. I did find a pic from the PKI newsletter of Nick's Block party in 1998 which I was part of the cast.
  19. I'm so glad someone remembers the last of the "good ole days". I worked at Repeat The Beat my first year in Entertainment. All of the shows in the park were great that year...and sadly things have gone down more and more every year. It was nice having day shows and night shows. I remember filling International Showplace on a daily basis, back then. I'm hoping the changes for '07 bring it back to those days... Awesome, do you have any pics of that show or video/audio? Although I was not part of the cast or crew of house of groove, it was one of my favorites. Looking for stuff from that show. I know Jen was the Stage manager, and I knew most of the cast. But I dont have any pics or anything...
  20. Very true, That's how I remember Budweiser and Miller Light....heehaw
  21. Even though CF shows are reguarded by many as wasteful, it still adds to the atomosphere, there is alot more to a park than just rides... Shows, food.....Just things you wouldnt see on a daily basis.
  22. I am so glad they built the lodge but on my personal note it does not interest me for some reason. Maybe because I only live a few minutes from the park. But I do plan on staying there at least once this upcoming year so I can say I did! Do they have a bar?
