  1. I agree something has to be done there-either looping the midway or widening it if possible. That area will be nightmare during Fear Fest.
  2. The only dual-station ride I have been on is The MUMMY @ Universal Orlando. It is very efficient, and the way it was set up, they had a fast pass lane combined with the regular line on one of the station sides, which worked out great as well- both lines seemed to move at a pretty constant rate. I hope KI does a similar thing for Firehawk like they did for IJ:ST on its first year, and have a "speed lane" open every day in the summer to reduce the line. If Firehawk is like the Mummy, it will also have the option to close half of the station when the ride isn't as busy.
  3. I think KI needs a steel coaster of at least 300 ft, not necessarily one of the huge record-breaking coasters.
  4. I agree 100%. MIB in Universal Orlando is one of my most favorite rides. The ride is amazingly themed, and the queue line is even better. We go to Univeral about every other year and when we do we ride MIB at least 5 times a day. My family gets so competetive and into it- its so funny but its awesome. If KI would get a similar ride, the park would be that more amazing. You're right- Scooby Doo is not even in the same category as MIB.
  5. Does anyone know if a "speed lane" will be built for Firehawk? The only other dual-station ride I have been on is the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida, and I know that the speed pass lane worked great for that ride (isolating the lane to one of the stations). So I'm hoping KI will build a speed lane for Firehawk, and do the same thing they did for IJ:ST's opening year- have speed lane tickets available daily. That worked out great in '05, and would in my opinion help control Firehawk's line by making passholders come back at the designated time on the ticket. Can't wait to check out the ride this summer!
  6. I went to Fear Fest opening night September 30th. While it was over all an awesome night, there were somethings that disappointed me. If you dont want to read my whole TR, the disappointments were sleepy hollow, the two new 'fear zones', if you can call them a fear, and the main one, Phycho Path. Overall, however, I enjoyed the night. First We went on Circus Horrors, which was better then last year. It had tons of clowns in it. We got there when it opened. Next was Cowboy Carrnage, which was the best haunt of the night. It had tons of actors, the smell of whiskey, and was all around well done. The only thing was it was too short. Wait time 20 minute. They did a good job keeping the line moving. Then we went on Headless Hollow, which seemed to me just like last year. There were not enough actors and had many dead spots at the beginning. The ending of it was pretty good, though. I will say, the use of fog was great. From what I heard, it seems like i was just there at a time where some actors were missing. Wait time was 40 minutes. After that, The Beast line was too long, so we ate Larosa's then Headed through CORN STOCKERS tword Phycho Path. Corn Stockers was the only good fear zone. It did scare me a couple times, and accually had length to it. So when we got to phycho path, the line was out by the zephyr, and Flight of Fear's line was long, so we went on The Asylum. I did not go on it last year, but I did a couple of years ago, and I don't remember it being that good before, but this time it was good. The strobe light action makes it awesome and freaky. Wait time 30 minutes Ok so while we were in line for the asylum, the phycho path line magicly disappeared. So after that, we decided to check it out. On our way down a million people where leaving. When we got down there, there was almost no line, but the attraction was open. The guy in charge of people going in said they just finished a continuous congo line as he called it to cut the long wait time. So in 2 minutes we got into the path. Now for the big disappointment Phycho Path, the best haunt of last year, was virtually not opperating, while we were in it. All the actors disappeared, and halfway through it we got stuck in a HUGE backed up line, (my guess is it was the end of the big congo line). There were actors here, but it was hard to scare us as we are standing in the middle of a big non-moving line. We slowly followed the line out, with no thrill in it whatsoever. We were too disgusted to try it again. (the line was still just 10 minutes we guessed). We obviously came at a bad time or somthing. Ok so after that we checked out the ther two 'fear zones' if thats what you want to call them. The worksite was a sad excuse for a haunted thing. It was ten feet long, with two actors when we walked by at 11:00. Holiday horrors was more funny then scary. We did end the night great with one of the best rides of The Beast I have ever had. The ride was a walk-on, surprisingly, around 11:45. We decided to save massacure manor for next time. I am returning to Fear Fest the 13th. I have faith in PKI and fear fest and hope that phycho path will be good this time, (yes Im going to give it another chance), and sleepy hollow will have more actors this time. And I hope Massacure manor will be better. It was good last year.
  7. Ya I went with Collin, and yes it was me who ended up on the floor- this freaky guy was hiding behind a doorway and I was the leader so he jumped right in my face, and it was very dark. I totally agree with collin's order of scariest haunts there. I have never in my life have I been as scared as I was in the Temple of Terror. Hands down, it is the most intense haunt I have ever been to. They do it right in Middletown. They really know what freaks people out... pitch-black rooms, slow stobe lights, the 'is it real?' idea, the element of surprise, evil clowns with chainsaws trpping you in the dead end of a maze, ect. In killer klows, they have a hallway of freaky clows standing still-- most are fake, but some are actors! Clowns useually don't scare me, but this was a frrreaky haunt. In the temple of terror, which was nice and long, I didnt go 30 seconds without having the cr@p scared out of me. It's that consistantly freaky. Land of Illusions is more intense and scarier then Fear Fest, but you can't get a midnight ride on The Beast there! We live in NKY and it was worth the 45 minute drive to Middletown. It's also a bit pricey, $30 for all four haunts, but still, worth it.
  8. I found this under the general info page of the site-- anybody have an idea what it could be?? Also, are they going to give out walk on tickets for some haunted houses? (I think they did last year for fear street) Finally does anyone know what happened to Curse of the Crypt? They didn't have it last year OR this year and it was in my oponion one of the freakiest attractions and one of my favorites.
  9. It's because they have corporate days in september. I remember when I was really little before he had passes, we would have our annual pki trip on my dads copany's exclusive weekend in September, where we got tickets for cheap. I think they still do that.
  10. wow there are some amazing ideas in this topic. I would definately pay 20 bucks for a speed pass, maybe more! and all those haunts sound awesome. Finally, FearFest should have a schedual like USS nightmare, closer to the 31, its open daily or should I say nightly.
  11. Couldn't say it better myself
  12. In my opinion Cedar Fair needs to watch what they do with the season passes because if there aren't going to be any benifits of having a pass people aren't going to pay the 200 dollars you guys are talking about. I mean if you have to visit and park 7 perk-less times just to get your money's worth, some people will just forget it. I mean thats a big difference from now where a pass is payed off if you visit 3 or 4 times, plus free parking.
  13. Ya I was there thursday and got there @ 9:30, rode face/off, drop zone three times then I made it just in time for the first two Delirium rides of the day. I love early ride times... Anyway ya we had a great day... we rode just about every ride at least twice. I also tried eXtreme Skyflyer because it was just 5 bucks. That thing is pretty sweet. we also rode Tomb Raider and something surprised me. After we watched the video we waited a long time to enter the ride. after ten minutes I asked the lady working there what was going on and she said they were looking for something a guest lost on the ride. I didn't think they would do that. She didn't tell me what it was the person lost. I also the coney mall sign was back up and at the gates there were signs that said 'welcome to Kings Island' without the paramount word or symbol. thats about it. an overall awesome day. we got all that in before we left at 3.
  14. not a bad idea... i would get the pass that included all the ohio parks
  15. Well whatever you want to call it, i don't see why they wouldn't have a perk program, but who knows at this point. Still, i think the perks i mentioned would make my ki visits more fun. A Fear Fest VIP night would be amazing because Fear Fest is always so crowded!
  16. you know thats a good point too. I hope they include free admission to Cedar Point because i've never been but would love to go and it would give me an excuse to.
  17. If you were Cedar Fair, what would you change about the Gold Pass Perks program? 1. I would make the 'speed lane' perk everyday if not on crowded days (a sign at the front gate would tell you if speed lane was open that day). I would also make it for more rides like FoF and Son of Beast. 2. *A Gold Pass VIP night for Fear Fest!!* 3. BETTER Meal deals! LaRosa's large Pizza and 2 drinks for $16, with deals on Dipin' Dots and Greater's 4. Finally, have those gold pass metal detectors/ gates on the left always open (so you can get in faster and not have to pass those annoying 'welcome to Kings Island can a take your picture' people)
  18. i dont know you but i am. the early ride times are great. one time i rode Delirium twice and drop zone 3 times before 10
  19. my list old~new Face/off~ i like revertigo Days of thunder~ why... Drop Zone Stunt tower~ drop drop zone and just call it stunt tower Top gun~Maximum G force IJST~Stunt track or take two TR:TR~ Tomb adventure CDBB: just 'boomerang bay' and by the way, i saw on CF's website that the paramount license for 10 years, now i know they can get rid of it, but maybe the not-so-obvious paramount named ride will keep there name longer-like drop zone, face/off. same with some of the resturaunts.
  20. i have a question: doesnt SoB have 3 trains? if one had the accident, and the other was stoped on the hill, what happened to the other one? did it stop where those breaks are right before the hill going into the loop? if so then those people had a close call!
  21. wow. not looking good. read this article. we'll be lucky if the ride opens again this year-- which sucks cuz i love the ride PKI riders sent to hospital
  22. favorite ride: Delirium Favorite coaster: Flight of Fear

    Speed Pass?

There is no reason pki can't create a daily speed pass system. It needs to be for more rides, too, and not that 'pick one of the following' crud. And finally they need a system of signs throughout the park that display updated ride wait times (or if the ride is running) like they have at Universal. That would save me the trouble if i just got of The Beast- i wouldnt have to walk across the park to see if Delirium has opened back up or not -- or if SoB's lines have died down yet. The problem would be keeping it updated to the minute.
  24. Tomb Raider might be closed when the park opens like SOB, but once it opens it useually stays open, whereas Delirium normally closes just for a little then reopens, sometimes more than once in a day. Also Tomb Raider is hardly ever crowded at the end of the day. It and The Beast are almost always my last rides of the day before the park closes!
