We are considering going to Cedar Point this summer for the first time. Is it possible to ride all the major thrill rides in one day with ease on a weekday?

FIREHAWK=big time disappointment/waste of time.

Ditto. -
Ritter's is what got me hooked on frozen custard. I might even like it better than Culver's, but again, I only get treated to it when we are in the area of one, because there aren't any around Northern KY.

I have never had Cedar Point's frozen custard, but to me, frozen custard in general is better than soft serve or regular ice cream. Too bad the closest place to NKY that serves it is Culver's all the way up in West Chester. It definitely sounds good right about now...

Where they using one side of the station or both?
-
^^Yes-and consistently. If/when they get both stations working for most of the day everyday (at least for it's opening season), the capacity should be drastically better and there won't be a need for a third train. I have seen rides with duel stations that keep the line almost constantly moving.
-
Does anyone know if they had both trains or stations running this weekend?
-
I understand that specific operators need to be trained to run Firehawk, but my point is that you'd think that the one of the park's first priorities would be to get Firehawk running to full capacity ASAP.
-
I hope Firehawk had a speed lane. There is a line that goes directly to the station. They did it for IJ. It would make sense to me.

I went Friday and took advantage of ERT. Flight of Fear was open, and we were able to ride it three times before the park opened. Firehawk did not open until 10:05, but we were able to get in line right before the big crowd came at 10, and therefore we were able to get on the 4th ride of the day. So the ERT worked out perfectly for us: 3 rides on FoF and front of the line for Firehawk, all before 10.

I've just noticed it this year. I don't like how it almost stops, but it does make the ride last longer. IMO they should just be used to slow the train, not stop it or nearly-stop it.
-
That's what I thought at first on Friday, but they even opened the backwards racer (and just about every other coney mall ride for that matter) as the day went on, but not Firehawk's second station or even second train. If it really is a staffing issue, then someone needs to fix their priorities. (IMO)

Firehawk is an awesome addition to the park, and definitely NOT overrated, as I have said before. Definitely one of my favorite rides in the park. Also, this is coming from someone who did not have the anticipation of waiting in a long line to ride this ride, which I think can change one's perspective of the ride. What I think I'm trying to say is, the ride is not over-hyped. (I was extremely lucky and only waited 15 minutes to ride Firehawk on Friday!)
-
If this helps, Friday Firehawk opened five minutes after the park did. So hopefully that's the case this weekend.

^^ The million dollar question.

IMO, Kings Island's next coaster, which might not be for 2-3 years, should be something like Maverick: not necessarily a record-breaker, but a long, fast, well-themed coaster with unique elements to it. A ride that is unique in itself. (I have never seen Maverick in person, but I am basing this from what I have found out about the ride.) Edit: BTW, I also agree that is is wayy too early to start a topic like this. Honestly, Firehawk hasn't even been open for a week!

How long can I expect the lines to be?
Delirium33 replied to matt-and-jackie's topic in Kings Island
Today, the lines for the major lines ranged from walk-ons to about 20 minutes throughout the day, with the exception of Flight of Fear and Firehawk. Firehawk was about 90 minutes when we checked in the middle of the day, with one train. That should be an indication of what Monday is like, except more schools might be out after today, so that might make the park a little more crowded. Last time I went to the park (before today) was a weekend. The difference was like night and day. We got on more rides in 1 1/2 hrs today than we did all day on the Saturday that we went. (I understand this is not always the case, however) -
If you looking at the station from the entrance, they were using the left station.

I went to the park today and took advantage of the ERT in Coney Mall. We were able to ride FoF 3 times before the park opened to the public. After the third ride, it was 9:55, and there was maybe 50 people in line for Firehawk, so we got in line right before the park opened to the public. The ride opened at 10:05. We were the 4th train of the day. This was my first flying coaster, and I was extremely amazed. There really is nothing like it. I felt very secure in my restraints, and the ride was very smooth. The best part of the ride is the first half: the first hill, the horseshoe, and the loop, which was crazy. The loop is the best in the park, now that SoB's is gone. There is nothing like going head-first into a loop on your back. The second half the ride was great as well, but honestly it was a bit slow for my taste. It could be that the ride has not fully been broken into, but I don't know. I'm not complaining. Overall I loved Firehawk, as much as I thought I would. Although my friend thought it would be, Firehawk is not overrated! It definitely is in my top 3 favorite rides in the park. The loading/unloading went flawless during the times we were in line and getting on. Something I didn't understand was that they were running the yellow train today, not the red one. So either they didn't have enough employees to run the second train, or maybe they are having issues with the other side of the station. It didn't make sense to me. The park was not very crowded, and we were able to ride just about every major ride at least twice throughout the day, our longest wait being Face/Off and Drop Zone, about 20 minutes each. Overall a GREAT day! Firehawk is an Awesome addition to the park.

^^ That is why I wanted to go so badly this week. Should be a GREAT day tomorrow. Good point... It shouldn't make much of a difference if that is the case.
-
I'm going tomorrow to ride Firehawk as well. I didn't relize that some rides may not open right away, but then again, many of the employees may still be in school. We'll find out tomorrow, I guess.
-
If season pass processing opens with the park, I would NOT be very happy, but I got my pass processed on opening day at 9:30, but there were no ERT. I really hope they let him process his pass before the ERT.
-
I agree about Drop Zone. That is the only ride at KI that really gets my blood pumping (out of fear). I think that it is the anticipation at the top that makes it so freaking and therefore thrilling. When I hear those motors shut off, I know its a matter of seconds before I'm back on the ground 200-some feet bellow. That's what I love about the ride.
-
Hey guys, My friend and I are going to the park tomorrow. My friend needs to get his gold pass processed, but we still want to take advantage of the Coney Mall early ride time starting at 9:30. So my question is what time does the season pass processing (and parking lot) open? We plan on getting there at 9. Does anyone know what time Firehawk has opened the past few days? Thanks for your help! Edit: Dumb statement about ERT/Firehawk was removed.

How long did you have to wait until Firehawk opened? I'm assuming that you got there when the park opened, right?
