  1. Best show that the International Showplace has seen in years. Now if KI could only bring the Monsters Rock - Buried Alive to the Paramount Theater (good riddens to the awful baldini). the park would have the best entertainment of all time.
  2. I would have to agree that the best part was Dead Awakening followed by Club Blood.
  3. I saw all four shows Friday night, and this show is definitely not for kids. In each show, there were many older folks that got up and left, but on the other hand, heard lots of positive comments from those that stayed. Who ever thought that there would be a girl in a white teddy and a shirtless guy "dirty dancing" on stage at KI? For some this was not the family ice show type of entertainmnet that some expected and for others, it was the best show ever held at the International Showplace in years. On the other hand, the show at the Paramount Theater left a lot to be desired - KI should have brought in Monsters Rock from Cedar Point to play there with the cool guitar players.
  4. It's the best ever - and the best show ever held at the International Showplace. There were some monsters in Rivertown, Drop Zone, and Coney Maul, but agree that the majority of them seem to be stationed at the front gate.
  5. I have to agree - Halloween Haunt is better than ever this year. Cedar Fair sure has gone to extremes with their shows - from a tame ice show in the summer to the dead awakening at Halloween Haunt. I never would have imagined a girl dancing in a white teddy with a shirtless guy doing suggestive moves. It was also interesting to see the reaction of the crowd to dead awakenings - there were many that found it offensive and left, but the dancing, lights, and sountrack were awesome. I hope this gives Cedar Fair an idea to put a night time show back in International Showplace in the regular summer season. I will be back to see this again several more times. And for those that went to watch the great baldani in the Paramount Theater, well, it was an interesting torture just to sit and listen to that guy for sure. This is one show I will not be back to see. It would have been better off to bring back the Monster Bash, but then they would have had to cover up more of the ice with plywood. (You could still see the Endless Summer signage behind the black curtains and burlap, which means Endless summer on ice will be back next season.) And the best new attraction I had to give to Club Blood - an interesting concept that I thought the park pulled off very well. Overall, a very impressive event, and Cedar Fair lived up to its promises to make Halloween Haunt bigger and better than before. It will be intersting to see next year how many season ticket holders pay the upcharge for the event.
  6. This event will probably do very well since they are extending it to season pass holders unlike what Paramount did for Winterfest (well, they gave season pass holders a very small credit on admission). Paramount really missed the boat with their horrible pricing structure of $29.99 considering when this summer Cedar Point lowered admission to the entire park for $24.95 with special coupons. It's also sad to see the Holiday Illumination trees sitting idle behind the Jolly Rancher drink station on the pond. Maybe someday in a zillon years Winterfest will return. I still remember the early Winterfests where the park sold out every night and you had to wait a hour to skate on the Royal Fountain. Well, guess its time to make Hershey or Dollywood my regular Christmas Amusement Park.
  7. Twinstin to the 60's - nice to see some of the same cast and musicians from school of rock back in concert. Nice to see this show still playing on weekends through labor day. hope this one returns next season -
  8. The cast of this show has gotten better over the summer and has added some little extra gestures and facial expressions in the past week. And for those that were fans of the School of Rock, Alex and Kevin in the band still rock. Alex had a few great guitar solos that stood out this week since the Matt the sax player off. And if you watch during their warmup period around 1:30, they may even play a few minutes of AC/DC Back in Black like they did on Friday. Great to see such talented musicians and hope they return next season. Nice to see a great show back in this location after being left empty last season.
  9. It's nice to see Cedar Fair restore the entertainment back to the park. The show is a bit choppy in places, but overall, a good ice show - and I agree it has great lighting. The Paramount Theater is better suited to musical shows such as the Graveyard Shift, School of Rock (or even the old Toy Story from Winterfest) rather than an ice show. Maybe next year the ice show can move back to the Festhaus where it used to be many years back (even though back then it played in the American Heritage Music Hall for a year before moving into the Festhaus for a few years).
  10. I visited PKD this summer as well and did not think their show was as good as PKI. There were some differences in the two shows, but think the cast at PKI was much better. I also think the sound in the Paramount Theatre is much better than at PKD. Luckily, I got two shows saved, one with the regular cast and one with the alternate cast and replacements for those that left for college in late August. Hopefully, some of the musicians will audition for next year's new entertainment line up around the park.
  11. The school of rock cast was informed today on their last performance day that this show will not be coming back next season, and that the Nickelodeon parade would not be back as well. So, out with Rock N Roll and in with Snoopy on Ice. Next season sure will be full of changes, that is for sure.
