  1. Check out this photo of The Beast. This is taken from Diamondback's lift hill and will be the perspective that you'll see from the top of the 230' hill. Photo Courtesy of Don Helbig
  2. Dayton Daily News Article on Diamondback Includes several wonderful photos but more importantly, links to KIC.
  3. What a GREAT idea! I don't see us neglecting info from KIC in order to do a newsletter, but rather have it as an augmentation of what's on KIC. User-written articles is a perfect example.
  4. They certainly didn't have the money, or they'd have paid cash.
  5. You'll have that. Sometimes I'll see members names in the birthday bar at the bottom of the forums that used to make 10 or so meaningful posts a day and they fade out or abruptly disappear. Sometimes life goes on, interests change, people have kids, etc... Of course, the KIC brand is stronger than ever and is getting more members all the time.
  6. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away KIC used to send out monthly newsletters. Due to shifts in market demand, we stopped doing it after about a year. The time has come to ask you, the KIC Universe, if KIC had a monthly newsletter, would it be something which you were interested in receiving. Notes: This newsletter would be 100% voluntary -- you'd have to sign up for it to get it. We, of course, would never EVER sell your email address to any 3rd party. We promise. Scout's honor. Some information in the newsletter would be exclusively sent to people who get the newsletter... going above and beyond information on the forums.
  7. Seems like it's the Wright State Sports Blog that's sponsoring it...

  11. I'm assuming the second ride would be rotated but remain in the same Rivertown area. Saying this is true, I would assume that our daily selection will include Diamondback and The Beast, The Crypt, White Water Canyon, or Backlot Stunt Coaster. This should be an exciting year Doesn't WWC open at noon on most days?
  12. Card carrying members of accredited enthusiast groups used to be able to meet near the park's entrance and were escorted by a member of the marketing team to the entrance to The Beast to be able to catch the first ride of the day. That of course has changed to accommodate the far more exciting DB early rides.
  13. .....ERT on The Beast on its 30th anniversary? ....EVERY DAY of the season? ...count me in. If it was going to be The Beast as the 2nd ride every day, he would probably have said so. Likely it will be a rotating schedule of rides with The Beast being in the rotation several times. Just my guess.
  14. I'll have a full list of details as the event nears. However the plan right now is to have everyone enter through the employee entrance and park in VIP parking. We'll gather as a group at Human Resources and we will be escorted into the park as a group promptly at 3pm.
  15. 2009 = Dimaondback, perks, stellar special events Just wait...
  16. For those of you who are card carrying members of coaster enthusiast groups, you are probably aware of the traditional Ruth Voss Memorial Walkback every morning. The walkback will be changing in 2009, as stated in the other thread. Now card carrying members of accredited enthusiast groups who do NOT have a Kings Island Gold or Platinum Pass can join the Gold and Platinum Pass holders in the daily morning ERT on Diamondback and one other ride. This will be an exciting opportunity for enthusiasts from out of town to be able to skip the lines and get a few rides in on Diamondback before the gates are open to the general public.
  17. Instead of the Diamondback Ert, I'm just gonna go on The Beast Walkback... If you're referring to the Ruth Voss Memorial Walkback for the enthusiasts, it's going to change this year. Now, card carrying members of accredited coaster and enthusiast groups that do NOT have a Kings Island Gold or Cedar Fair Platinum Pass will be able to join the Gold and Platinum Pass holders in their morning ERT on both Diamondback and the other ride that's open that day.
  18. I assure you that his mention of Scooby Doo in the blog has no implication of whether or not Nickelodeon will be featured in the future.
  19. This date was removed from the operating schedule over a month ago, long before the "Buy Now, Pay Later" deal ended. It simply didn't hit KIC until today. Again, don't forget that SP holders get to ride it EVERY DAY before the general public. What more could you ask for? Details on the auction process will be released on a future date.
  20. I think you the nail on the head. 17th... 18th... what does it matter? It'll be your first opportunity to ride it regardless.
  21. Diamondback construction is going at an excellent pace and is currently on schedule. It will be ready to open with the park on April 18th.
