We all know about the Timberwolf. In my opinion, it's kind of a waste. What's the point of having an amphitheater if you're only going to have about six concerts a year? Now, here's my question: What do YOU think they should use it for? Keep in mind that its seating capacity isn't extremely large, so suggesting that bands play there like Metallica/Rolling Stones/N Sync or whatever is really illogical. Also, keep in mind that while the capacity isn't extremely large, it's still pretty freaking big, so it would also be illogical to have Vibe or Spellbound there. My suggestion would be to have different shows there similar to TR:SS but only have them twice a day. Perhaps one around 1:00 and one around 6:00. If there are fewer shows, they'd be able to have a better show more than likely and having them only twice would bring more people in. I would have a new show every 3 weeks or so to keep it fresh. The show would have to be well-hyped with signs around the park showing how to get to the Timberwolf. The show doesn't necessarily have to be a stunt show, but I think it should be something more than their regular song and dance or cheesy magic shows. Anyway, that's just my opinion. So tell me what you think. -Ryan

I was actually thinking the same thing and I'm sure it crossed their minds as well. The problems with that are first of all, they have a few concerts there every year. There's no telling how far in advance they book the shows as opposed to planning on having the stunt show. There could be a conflict there. I'm sure they could move all the props for the show out the day of a concert, but that's a big hassle that I'm sure they don't want to deal with. You also have to realize that most people don't plan on going to the shows. They probably just see them going on or hear the music and wander in. If the show wasn't in a primary spot like the International Showplace, they might loose a lot of people. Another problem would be that you have to assume that a tourist wouldn't know what or where the Timberwolf is. Obviously everyone on here either knows where it is and/or has been there at some time, but for the most part, people who know where it is are either regulars at the park, or have a reason to know where it is, like a ticket holder. I realize that there are a couple of signs up pointing to the entrance, but hey, we're dealing with people here, so you have to assume that logic and common sense are way out the window. -Ryan

That does make sense, but it still has signs up saying that fake fog is in use. So, reguardless anyone who isn't extremely familiar with the park who has allergic reactions to it wouldn't ride.
-
I totally agree with you there. It's actually worse for people who ride it for the first time in the later years who will never will never know the amazing experieces we all had the first couple seasons that FoF was opened.

Yes, the both have height limits. Don't quite me on this, but I think it's 6' 5 or so. I happened to see the same guy not fit into the restraints on both rides on day and he was 6' 7 I believe. The ride ops told him to cross his legs and that whole rountine, but it didn't work. I'm not sure if it's a park rule about these limits, but I'm sure that Premier built the cars intended to be used within a height range.

I saw the show Sunday. I'm not the biggest fan of PKI shows, but I thought this one was neat. I mean, it had little-to-no plot what so ever but the effects were kind of neat. The antagonist was kind of annoying because they tried to make him sound a little too much like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. Overall, it was worth seeing. The saucy attempt to have a plot was a little dry, and the fight sceens could have been better, but hey, the dirt bike made the show anyway. --Ryan

I remember not even a month ago at the point in video when they have the "15,000 watt surge" or whatever when all the lights are supposed to be flickering a quick, but very noticable puff of fog was shot out of the saucer on the right side of the entrance. It wasn't that big of a deal, but it did add to the "overload" or "power surge" feeling. -Ryan

Does anyone remember the fully interactive game show that they had there right before QTV (or whatever it is now) took over?

When they push the train back, or have people get out and walk back to the station on FoF, where do you walk? I realize that there's probably some sort of walkway on either side, but from the station, you can see that there's only about a 6" ledge under the dome entrance. Is there an alternate way around that? I imagine that PKI wouldn't want to assume the risk over a whole trainful of people having to go "Cliffhanger" style over a 2 foot deep hole with track in it.

Vibe isn't too bad. I intend to see the TR stunt show when I go today. Have you seen Spellbound? Not the best show PKI has ever had, but definately worth noting. -Ryan

Italian Chef introduced me to him at the Tomb Raider: The Ride filmings a month ago. He's a very nice guy. -Ryan ps. Buy Chef's book.

THAT is the most incorrect story ive seen on these boards. ever. I am offended. Seriously, if that's not what happened, tell us what really did. Instead of choosing to be offended by what I said, tell us what really happened. I had some friends who worked in games last year and that's what they told me happened. So once again, if you know what happened for real, then clear it up for the rest of us instead of just whining about it. Thanks, Ryan

A lot of people have been saying the military people aren't paid very well. That really depends on your job. You also get free living expenses, etc. I like the discount those people do great, fearless thing for our country! -Ryan

If you go in the early season, when they still close at 9:00, there are some nights when there's no one there. The park is almost creepy since it's so quit. -Ryan

It would be cool if anyone on here had any information on the family that owned the farm(s) that became the park. Perhaps they could be contacted to shed some light on things. I mean, granted most of these ghosts are apparently people who got killed in the park, but what about the girl who plays around in Water Works? -Ryan
-
I'd like to see the lights change, kind of like the effects in the hanger. It would be cool to have a strobe, lights dimming and changing color as you pass, etc. --Ryan

You people can't assume that adding new trains, getting rid of OTSR, or whatever will make it a less turbulent experience. It has been successful in some cases (i.e. FoF) but when it all comes down, you're sitting in a train that's extremely small which will take you up hill, down, hill, upside down, etc. Arrow built it the way that they did to make it as safe as they could design it. Comfort is in a distant second, I'm sure. Now, should they have Arrow come in and do some structural work on the ride - yes. Just look at it this way, at least it's not SOB, I used my two for Tuesday perk and I thought they were going to have to get me off that ride in a stretcher. --Ryan

Actually, I heard that the tower did get struck. Some lady said that she saw a big flash when lighning struck it. I just didn't say anything about it because it probably get struck all the time, and I can't guarentee the integrity of the story. -Ryan

I was at the park today and we had one of those hour long voilent storms that seem to be so common these days. After it passed and normal ride operation resumed, I went to The Beast only to find it shut down. The worker there told me that the first lift hill had been struck by lightning. He said that it damaged the towing motor and the PA system and that he doubted the ride would be open the rest of the day. I know rides being struck by lighting isn't anything new, but I just think it's funny how it struck a hill made of wood as opposed to The Vortex's hill, which is taller, made of straight steel, and not 100 yards away. Anyway, they managed to get the ride in operation by the end of the day, so hats off to the mechanical staff. --Ryan

Yeah, quit posting on this topic. He's just some stupid kid who's not fooling anyone. If you give him any ideas, he just going to keep on talking. This is a PKI board, and we're not going to help out possible competition. Thanks, Ryan

Does anyone know which venue it will be in? -Ryan
-
Well, for those of you who don't know, which seems like it's just one of you. Last year, there was some sort of miscommunication between the maintenance staff and the ride operators. The ride operator did not know that one of the maintenance staff's trucks were parked way too close to track and during a test run, the train collided with the truck. Both were badly damaged. Top Gun opened a few days later using only the undamaged train. Good story, isn't it? -Ryan

It's not bad for a preteen oriented book. If you haven't read it, I think you would find it interesting enough to be worth your time seeing as to how it's about PKI. Just don't listen to the historical stuff in it, it's all made up garbage. What's the 2nd one about? I haven't read it. --Ryan

lol...you people crack me up! Granted, the story is probably not true, but why are you guys trying to look at a story about the paranormal logically? It's funny how you guys are willing to accept that there's a guy who fell off the Eiffel Tower God knows how many years ago, but refuse to accept the idea that there was a bloody hat near The Beast. The hat doesn't necessarily have to have blood on it from the day of the incident, which I doubt anyone died in anyway. The whole point of ghost stories, accounts of the paranormal, or whatever are supposed to defy logic. Perhaps the bloody hat was supposed to be a mirage or a freak incident. Nonetheless, whoever posted the story, quit lying! Everyone else, take these stories for what they're worth, don't invest that much thought into them. -Ryan

For a good listing of of supposed hauntings at PKI, copy this URL: Hauntings at Paramount's Kings Island Also, I noticed that it mentioned the cemetery between the campgrounds and the park. I remember seeing that about 14 years ago, but haven't seen it since. I was wondering if it was still in existance, if if so, where it is. An experience that's not on that page was told to me by an old friend of mine who worked there about fifteen years ago. Even back then, ghost stories circulated like crazy. Apparently, the Paramount Theatre is built almost exactly where the old farm house was before PKI was built. (Oh yeah, and the park that used to be there according to RL Stein's book is a lie) Anyway, they used to go in there after hours and play with a Ouija Board on the stage. One time, the pointer shot out of their hands. Now, you need to take this for what it's worth, but he is a grown man now and he really isn't one to lie or exaggerate. -Ryan
