Well, considering that the name is "Flight Deck," and most objects on a flight deck are, in fact, silver (with black lettering,) I would keep it gray.

Most of the lakes and such are drained every year so the water freezing does not damage concrete/pumps/lights, and so they can clean them in the upcoming offseason. Don't worry, the splashdown will return to its natural beauty next year!

The webcam is dark! Did they take it offline!?!?!? Oh wait, its 11pm.... >.<

Yes, there are extra calls, maybe they should set up a fund. Kinda tiffs me off.....

Or, when you rode it as a ride op, your fellow ride op decided to stop is dead on the midcourse...... Tom, who had never to this day felt pain like I experienced that day...

Ummm, after changing out the fog juice at KI (big 55 gallon drums) numerous times, I can tell you it wasn't red... The fog effects on both AE and Flight Deck were in fact fog driven, not steam driven. The pipes were removed due to non-use (from what I could gather, the juice was expensive...)

Auction at Holiday World
SOB_TOM replied to Jamesv7's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Would love to go to that, but don't have time. Sounds like a good time to be had, with many treasures to be given. -
OR give them all to someone who is going to be speaking at the counsel as proof that their constituents do not want this tax...

I think it shows inginuity on the part of the original poster. Its just like having three posts saying "I want to close this park, I want to move this park," ect. As for me, close KD. Carowinds for the revamp. Wonderland to somewhere in the states.

Even if they write it down, they are still going to junk the message. It doesn't matter, most politicians don't care what their constituents want, its all about the amount of money they get.

Someone post how that phone call goes. I have a feeling that either you will get a voicemail, or a disconnected message.

If this passes, The Beach is most likely gone, KI will struggle, and any other business will think twice about coming to Mason. Seriously, if it takes as much money that is quoted above to run one city the size of Mason, there is a serious problem. Over 500K in tax revenue, and they are seeking more? I think in Mason its time to look at their books before even thinking about a new tax. BTW, lets keep national politics out of this discussion. This topic, in its nature, is political, however it will be advanced if we stay on topic and not stray to the finger pointing. Tom, who feels like he just slapped himself for uttering that phrase...

Lets not forget about the warning signs about the track being out ahead, the snakes in the tunnel, the spears sticking out of the ceiling (that used to work,) the crumbling effects on the lift/turn, yeah, there is a lot in there. The "lava" effect on Bubba was a mix of fog and dripping water, from what I remember.

Patiently awaiting the announcement of the auditions for next years' play. Listening to music, attempting to write my own.... Going back to school. Plotting projects. Job hunting.

You and your adventures..... Makes me want to pack my bags and brave the 85 degree weather.....

What would be the general publics' interest in this series would be my first thought. I can see if Winterfest was still going on, but I think it would not sell that well overall. Although, I bet there are some unique people on this site who could build em... Your Unofficial KI ornament line by KIC!

Just to clear things up, the Mayans played Basketball whit a sement ball, and the loser were killed. I am sure they know what they are talking about Actually, to clear up your statement, this game was the earliest invention of soccer. Players used their hips to knock the ball through the hoop. And it wasn't the loser that was sacrificed, it was the captain of the winning team. Source- History Channel special on Mayan civilization aired I believe about 2 months ago. As for 2012, I predict that the park will inform us of the changes in 2011, and will most likely be large, being the parks' 40th. If the park is still around, that is.

Between my 7 nieces and nephews, ranging from 2-13, not one could have cared less if it was Nick, Scooby, or Snoopy..... As for me, I really do not have an opinion, other than CF better get this right, this is the one that shapes the opinion of those casual park goers on how well CF does things....

Another purposeful bump of the topic to remind people that there is less than a week until the big podcast!! I am still accepting questions, and nothing is being held back! Ok, we are keeping it rated PG, but other than that, anything goes! Submit your questions to me via PM, and they will be asked to Ryan!

KINGS ISLAND, CofC Vow To Fight Admissions Tax Proposal
SOB_TOM replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
I don't know much about enforcing laws passed on the local level, but what I was taught to believe is that any law passed by any governing body must be upheld by that same body, no matter who is in those official positions. I may be wrong, but that is what I was told to believe in Fort Thomas. Then again, I lived in that town for 24 years, and never saw the mayor change once.... What are the chances that the state is brought into this and KI coming up on top? There is precident in the state as is of an amusement tax, and I would think that the state would have to go with that. -
KINGS ISLAND, CofC Vow To Fight Admissions Tax Proposal
SOB_TOM replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Its just something I heard. I doubt it as well, but had to probe the possibility. Terpy, you may know about this, but was there anything drafted about this agreement between Mason and KI, or was it verbal? If it was verbal, there really is nothing KI can do on that front, and would have to pursue another avenue. -
KINGS ISLAND, CofC Vow To Fight Admissions Tax Proposal
SOB_TOM replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Isn't it also true that part of the agreement of the annex of KI is that KI can withdraw from Mason if it desires, and become part of the township out there, or even be a separate entity from any city? If this is true, why not just enact that clause if Mason passes this tax? That would solve the issue, at least in my mind. -
I purposefully bumped this topic to remind people to submit their questions, not intended to do any harm.

We have received many good questions to ask Ryan so far, and want to hear more! Remember, Ryan is not afraid of any questions, so ask away! Just send your questions via PM to me, and they will be added!
