  1. Kid, you can believe and say what you want. All I will say is that perspective is very deceiving.
  2. The final drop is nearly 100 feet in total vertical decent, not 100 feet above the ground. I think the location for Diamondback is absolutely perfect... but I don't understand why you think calling it a 'Behemoth/Nitro love child' is such a bad thing? Behemoth and Nitro are both amazing coasters in their own respect. The last comment I'll make on the subject is that Diamondback's first drop is identical to that of Behemoth. Yes, I've seen the proof.... let the flame war begin, lol.
  3. You get a small amount of mist if you sit on the outside of the last row where the scoops for the splashdown effect are located.
  4. I agree with you 100%. Money is always an issue, and is the primary reason corners are cut in coaster design. That was obviously the case with Diamondback. Don't get me wrong Interpreter, I am stoked about Diamondback, I'm just dreaming about what could have been. Ryan, do you care to explain how talking about Diamondback's design is 'off-topic' and people messing up BEAST1979's name for an entire page isn't?
  5. Did I say I was disappointed in Diamondback? No. I said I was disappointed in the route B&M took in designing Diamondback. For instance, while I firmly believe the 2008 BMW M3 is one of the greatest pieces of automotive engineering and driving available, there are still several aspects of the car that I believe can be improved. When it comes to design and engineering, there is ALWAYS room for improvement. While I think it's going to be an amazing ride, Diamondback could have been hands-down the top steel coaster in the world with that parcel of land KI has. Most parks have wet dreams about that type of site for a new coaster. Now if only KI went with Intamin's proposed design before CF bought them...
  6. Yea, the last drop into the splashdown is a little over 100 feet tall. While it is pretty impressive sounding, from an engineering and design standpoint, it just shows how much more B&M could have done w/ the design of Diamondback. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely excited about Diamondback, but w/ the site's topography, B&M could have designed something truly spectacular and unique - not just a Behemoth/Nitro lovechild.
  7. Wow, you're a quick one.
  8. Oh, no. That was a long long time ago. That was just a personal site I made for fun.
  9. Joined way back when... #30. FYI, I am still alive.
  10. As everyone knows I will still continue to be a part of the future site and head up the next design. Between school and having my band's debut album being released nationwide within a few weeks, I simply no longer have the time to keep up with PKI Unlimited.com. I believe that with my design talent, and Dan's ideas and passion for PKI, the new site is going to be outstanding. Also, from what I understand, Tanner and Tyson may be staying on board as photographers. Stay safe everyone. -Aaron
  11. This is how I see it... PKI is genius for announcing a coaster that will be heavily themed, along with being a ride for the entire family. Having a ride for the ENTIRE family, and not just teenagers and thrill junkies means they will be getting more people through the gate, and therefore more money. It's no wonder that PKI can basically turn out the same kind of attendence stats as Cedar Point when PKI puts in a $8 million attraction, and CP puts in a $30 million attraction. So to anyone who wants to cry and complain that PKI isn't like CP building pointless coasters just to have the "-est" records... go ahead and complain to the park all they want. PKI isn't CP and never will be like them. (PS - Yes, I'm still alive for all of those who have been wondering where I have been )
  12. If the rumor is true (but I have my doubts), I would think Six Flags should start focusing on taking care of their craptastic parks instead of just building rides for the hell of building rides. It's no wonder they are losing money while Paramount continues to grow.
  13. Ryan, you can actually register at the gate the day of the event if you wish. If I decide to attend, that's what I'll have to do.
  14. Yes, wind does have a factor in TTD's rollbacks, but the main reason why it rolls back often in the morning is because the temperature is cooler. When the ride is just starting out, the lubricants in the wheel bearings are not warmed up to what they would be later in the day, meaning they do not rotate as freely as they would when warmed up. There are also many other factors which I'm sure Tyson can fill us in since he's the mechanical engineering major here, but right now he's at the Boomerang Bay media preview.

That coaster is Wild Cat at Celebration City in Branson, MI. The guy standing along side the track is one of its designers after completion of the circuit... nothing to freak out about.
  16. Heheh, I love hazing new staff members.
  17. Count me in Tyson.
  18. Congrats Dane. Maybe I'll close this one just for the hell of it.... Only kidding... and I think Dane can attest that us moderators here at PKIU are very fair and like to give everyone a chance... we just don't like stupid people. PS - *Note to self* Don't let Tyson play with the Admin controls when drunk.
  19. Come on people. Grow up and respect eachother's opinions. Just because you may have a different opinion than someone else doesn't mean that your opinion is correct. Please be more open minded in the future and respect eachother so we don't have to go through this again. Topic closed on account of people not being able to control themselves. Grow up.
  20. Haha, thanks guys (thanks Tanner ). I'm looking forward to meeting some of the people that make this site so great this summer! Thanks for all of the continued support! Without you guys, PKIU would of never become the largest PKI enthusiast community in the world. Thank you!
  21. Haha, this is such a great topic. Even though it's a close call between AZ Kinda Guy (Sparky) and Boobkinos (Drew), I feel that overall Drew is the true smartass/boob on the boards. ...I'm suprised I wasn't nominated!
  22. Heh, just voted for The Beast. While before my spring break trip to California, I was thinking that I would possibly come back home with a new number one wooden coaster, but that was not the case. Ghostrider, IMO, is extremely overrated. I just do not see what's entirely "unique" about this ride that made everyone love it. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great wooden coaster, but I'd take a ride on The Beast over Ghostie in a heart-beat. PS - Man, OnRideCentral.com has a sweet design, I wonder who did it?
  23. Congratulations Charles! Your son is lucky to have such a great guy like you for his father! Now get us some baby pictures!
  24. Heh, I'll just be sticking to operating PKI Unlimited.com... that's enough of a job, plus, 2 hours is still a long haul if I was to work at PKI, and I don't think I'd want to be putting those miles on my car. And yes, Sparky AKA 'the other Aaron' is a great guy, and I'm lucky to have him part of the PKIU team.
  25. Heh, I'm the 'Aaron' the drives PKI Unlimited.com! Sparky AKA AZ Kinda Guy AKA Head PKIU Forum Moderator AKA Aaron is the one who drove Delirium last season (he's at Drop Zone this year).
