  1. You completely missed what I was saying, congratulations. I said multiple not all
  2. In the long run it's probably cheaper to have multiple rides by a single manufacturer. I'm sure TRTR and Delirium have certain interchangable parts by Huss that wouldn't work on a Mondial. Parts are probably cheaper in bulk, where we might not need to buy in bulk if we only had one Huss ride, but since we have 2 it may be cheaper to buy many parts. Also it makes the maintenance workers job easier because he knows that a certain manufacturer has certain problems. If every ride had a different manufacturer, their job would be much more difficult. This might be wrong, and might not go into consideration when buying rides, but it might. This is all my speculation.
  3. We talked about this the last time we went to Cedar Point. You know we would NEVER get any sleep!
  4. When was the last time anyone built a standup? Personally, I hate standup coasters. Why would you want to stand up on a ride that you stood waiting hours for? I think they are very uncomfortable. I just don't get it.
  5. I'm gonna go ride the cobra trains in the FOF drum.
  6. There are training days usually the 2 weekends before the park opens. You have to be 16 to work in rides, so don't worry about age.
  7. Hey, if Lake Erie can catch on fire, anything's possible. I agree with you LongLiveBeast, dealing with guest issues is by far the hardest part of the job, especially height checks. Also, working on any ride in the heat of the summer is tough, but it's a great job, you learn a lot, not just about rides. I fully believe that the experience you get from working at PKI can help you with any job you'll ever have. But the training is a piece of cake, it's pretty thorough, but it's not hard stuff.
  8. Small frisbees make me very nausious and i never get that way on rides... ever.
  9. No, PGA has a new scooters and you can't snap the cables... not that there is a rule against it, it's just phyiscally impossible. Don't argue with me, I went there this summer and I worked on our Scooters for 2 years.
  10. Nice pictures... I saw the PKI fireworks from a plane over the summer. By the way, it's called the Rose Bowl on Son of Beast, if you wanted to know.
  11. Not to scale.... not geographically correct.
  12. Hershey Park is no longer adding Turbulence next year due to a change in the contract by Interactive Rides. The park is now sueing Interactive rides because they raised the price tag an additional 1.2 million dollars from the original 2 million. http://www.abc27.com/news/stories/1204/193290.html http://www.wnep.com/Global/story.asp?S=2672062
  13. I agree CP is NOT running out of space. If they wanted to, they could build a parking garage and expand into the parking lot with a new park entrance. Universal/IOA anyone? There's other areas too if you think about it.
  14. face/off; Son of Beast face/off, Son of Beast, reptar Ghoster Coaster, Face/Off, SOB, Reptar
  15. Vekoma too Invertgo at PKI and PGA Reptar at PKI and Carowinds And Intamin - Drop Zones
  16. I know exactly what you're talking about.... seriously I spent way too much time in The Bay. I liked that one song "are you gonna be my girl" or whatever but it got way overplayed at PKI and on the radio.
  17. Boomerang Bay - Waltzing Matilda
  18. Each crew has pan and broom people, truckers (people that pull trash liners and push those big gray carts), and restroom people. They Rotate BB, RVT/HB, Coney, AZ, and I-street, every 2 weeks so they don't get bored having the same area all year. Eco did an awesome job this year. As did the entire rides dept. Yeah like he said, sorry I already typed it out.
  19. They play that song in Coney Mall, c'mon you should know this. Yes, I agree, best song ever played in a coaster station.
