  1. One of the greatest movies of all time!
  2. Three Friends and I recently went to Cedar Point on July 18 and 19. The first night we ate at The Gameday Grill. That was such a great place! The portions of food were great and the food was good quality and the plate was like 8 bucks plus drink. I had the Chicken Tenders meal which it is hard to screw up chicken tenders but still, I was in the mood for it, and the atmosphere and conversation couldn't have been matched that night. It was the perfect place for us to eat that night. I really wish KI would get a table service restaurant.
  3. And in many ways (if it doesn't backfire) can neatly wipe out a fairly large expense and provide some addition capital that is otherwise lost. Terpy knows I almost always side with optimism, if nothing else to add another side to a story. In this case, Six may very well have their first cash flow positive year of operation since inception, I think the Preferred holders will forget about their dividend if a cash flow positive year drives the creditors away and the stock price up. I fail to see this as a last-breath attempt to breathe life into a struggling company. I see it more as a very calculated move to nudge out a little extra capital!
  4. Oh the park is really playing mind games now. Liniment is most notably an antibiotic used to treat Equine injuries like open wounds and scalp sores. Thats right, it is a veterinarian Antibiotic used commonly on open wounds. And most notably on horses. Cory, patiently waiting until the curtain drops on 8.6.08
  5. I take it you aren't an amputee and dont have a leg cast?
  6. All of that and I still can't determine if I can go or not, what is wrong with me? lol
  7. Oooh, would you look at this, Traditional parks with moderate (family-friendly) price points are doing well! Who'da thunk it?
  8. In the three pictures that you can click on to view video on the website there may be a clue. The pictures look to be of a Plains area, a desert, and a forested setting. Just some food for thought, I know this is all very obvious, but there are few things found in all three settings. That could narrow it down a bit.
  9. I actually think that this is a time where a theme park could really capitalize on a bad situation. There are just sometimes when you can not turn a profit, every economical situation just ends in the same outcome. So if you as a park operator can not turn a profit, and your current value that you are giving to consumers is not really keeping you at a position to even break even, why not try to profit on something that will benefit you years down the road? If you guessed right, I am referring to Goodwill, and right now is a good time for parks to try and earn some brownie points. Think about it, if you can't increase profit, the one thing you can control is your relationship with those people who really want to visit your park when the times are better. There are those who would love to visit now, and would want to visit again even more perhaps after experiencing the park the first time they get the inclination to do so. That first time could be today, but it won't be, times are just too tough... I am off in my own little daydream most times, and I realize that this is hard for some to see as viable, but right now would be a good time to provide an extremely good value to consumers, and lock in good profits for years down the road. Yes you will lose some more money upfront by lowering prices, but if you are already having troubles in this economy, why not hold the consumers hand through this tough economical time, and walk them down the aisle a few years from now when they (hopefully) have more disposable income? You could lose a little bit up front and gain a lot at a later date. As of now most seem content with taking a licking now, and hoping the tide that raises all boats brings back mediocrity when times are good.
  10. At least noone can go off path and jump two fences now...
  11. The park is now Zoombezi Bay and Jungle Jack's Landing, at The Columbus Zoo. Not "Jambeeze Bay". I am going there this Sunday actually, I hope to have a good time!
  12. Would this be like InBev removing all the great things that should be the reasons for buying Anheuser Busch? You know, why want something really bad, but not realize that you want to get rid of the very things that made a company attractive to you in the first place. It just baffles me.
  13. Thats how I roll at the restaurants... At the park though, its all water...helps keep headaches away, or so I have heard, usually works for me anyways!
  14. This needs to be in her graduation party slideshow 18 years from now!
  15. Some people need some Windex
  16. Pickens said today that he doesn't think gas will go above 150 a barrel. I trust his judgement. I also read somewhere that figure translates to a nationwide average of 4.50 a gallon, tops.
  17. Is that a serious question? You really do not know much about economics do you?
  18. I do not have much to say about the article, Other than it was a nice piece, and something you don't really ever see discussed. All the details were broken down into values for the reader, it was just a nice piece to read, and a very clear presentation. The best part about an economic downturn is that businesses with bad plans occupying a space that could be used by a business with a good plan often lose market share allowing the new company to take its place and lower prices eventually. Natural Selection at its best, even in a free market economy!
  19. With everyone thinking they will benefit from high gas prices, who really will? :Snicker:
  20. Not true. You can ride the Ducks in Branson, Missouri!
  21. Yeah but you have people chopping firewood, and kids throwing hard-packed snowballs....
  22. I am going to go where noone has yet gone... Great job to the ride associate on stopping the ride! Is summer just the time of the year for stupidity? Or is it just intensified in the media?
  23. Just hold on to that stock now Ryan. Maybe not sticking to your day job could pay off! Or not!
  24. Simply, a visually stunning trip report, through and through! I enjoyed this. Kings Island is cleaner this year than it has ever been, right on par with Disney and the Florida parks. While some prices are higher, the experience this year at the park has certainly increased by a significant amount. You know what they say, "Cleanliness, next to godliness"
  25. Gimmick? Every Gimmick? What do you call a gimmick? Talking positive about a companies outlook, lowering prices and removing rides with high overhead is a gimmick? Are you really blaming him for trying to make money? really? How dare him. He shouldn't try everything he can think of to turn around a struggling chain... [sarcasm]
