work shifts at KI?
I live 40 minutes, away, there is no way in hell that i am working a split shift! Besides, when my interviewer told me the shifts he never mentioned a split shift, and when I signed asked me exactly what shifts I was able to work. It seems as thought Kings Island will niot have a split shift!

Firehawk Construction Is Well Under Way!
Yah I had heard that Cedar Fair actually was loaned enough to cover the parks for the next couple years incase something happens! I suppose that there must not be a minimum amount of time to pay back the loan, because if there was, that would be a large mistake to pay interest on a loan in which some of it you didnt even end up needing.

Will This Be Seen Again?

Will This Be Seen Again?
This link tells you all that you need to know regarding playing music in an establishment http://www.ascap.com/licensing/generalfaq.html If a restaurant is under a certain amount of space than typical radio broadcasts, or TV broadcasts are permitted without a license, as the website states. Interpreter is mostly right. The only exception to this rule is if the area doesnt use typical radio speakers and things of that nature: Permission for radio and television transmissions in your business is not needed if the performance is by means of public communication of TV or radio transmissions by eating, drinking, retail or certain other establishments of a certain size which use a limited number of speakers or TVs, and if the reception is not further transmitted (for example, from one room to another) from the place in which it is received Here is the recent amendment to the law: The amendment law applies only to performances by means of radio-over-speakers or televisions, only if no direct charge is made to see or hear the performances, only if the performances are not further transmitted beyond the establishment where they are received, and only if the original transmission is licensed by the copyright owners -- that is, the radio or television station, cable system or satellite carrier is licensed by the copyright owners or their performing rights organizations. As you can see, as long as KI doesnt turn around and broadcast the music to Great Wolf lodge or Showcase cinemas they are fine to play the radio! Things get a tad more complex but this is the gist, more info is found on the link that I provided! Hope that I cleared things up for you all! Cory Butcher

Americana
And I told him about it for you all! LOL. As I stated to some of you earlier the photo credits are being changed as the discrepencies are worked through. I hope that all of you will take a look at the americana site there are a lot of truly unique photos taken by not just Kevin but obviously Bill, Scott and park archives. Also there is a forum dedicated to all of Southwestern Ohio's defunct and current running parks where you can find out more information on some of the other great parks of Ohio's history! I also urge you to check out the SOAPHS site, which has actual informative write ups on most of the parks discussed. Happy hunting, and heres to you rediscovering the parks of yesteryear! Best seat on the Beast?
I actually thought that it was a smoother ride the first month or so that I rode it, after that my friend and I thought that it was really rough toward the end of the season specifically during Fear Fest but the track could have done a lot of contracting during the colder nights, so that could contribute to some of the roughness!

Kings Island Hosts Job Fair
how did this thread get to talking about people skipping breaks????? I'm not wanting to skip a break or not skip a break it all depends on how I feel once I start I guess. But I will work whenever they want me to work! Just as long as it mixes well with my semi-pro baseballs schedule.

how fun!
Whatever you guys do dont diss the Flying Dutchman and Tell Bill, Im pretty sure that ride has a great significance to him!

Kings Island Hosts Job Fair
maybe it started at 16, I didnt get all that great of a luck at the paper...it was upside down and in the managers hands, I was just trying to see how it was setup, and if being the oldest on the ride would mean anything.

Best seat on the Beast?
I absolutely love the exhilerating feeling of the very front seat. Going down the first hill I will stretch out over in front of the train...dont ask why....just started doing it a long time ago. Dont do it much anymore though!

Kings Island Hosts Job Fair
LOL......because as a 18 yr. old they are not required to give you the breaks that they have to give all the other people on the crew. They are most likely happy because they know that now they have a person who can work all day without having to take a break. R u serious or just trying to be funny? He said something about how there was not a supervisor assigned to that ride yet as well or something to that effect.

Kings Island Hosts Job Fair
So, I attended the job fair today and good news.....I am one of the newest employees of KI! LOL I will be working on Italian Job:Stunt Track, which you all love to hate, lol. So just letting you all know that more than likely you can find me helping out on IJ:ST all summer long from opening day to closing day! I do have one question though...when I was hired and asked what ride I would like to be on I noticed that each ride has a limit to how many people of various ages can work the ride. For example on IJ:ST it seemed that only 3-15yr olds, 3-16 yr olds, 2-17 year olds, and 2-18 year olds could be assigned to IJ from the beginning of the season....why is this so? Also my interviewer seemed to be very happy that I was the first 18 year old assigned to IJ:ST this year, why is that? Thanks guys!

Florida Vacation Question?
This is personally my opinion...but no, unlike at Disney there is not enough to do there for three to four days! Maybe 2 1/2 if you do IOA and USF. However just to go to IOA you would be doing many things over and over again for the next three to four days. You are better off taking that extra money and going to a Disney park that you havent been to in a while or maybe doing a day at Busch Gardens. Of course this is all completely a matter of opinion...but, when we go down we usually spend one day at each park and hit everything with time to spare! Also, check into spending some time at Dixie Stampede while you are down there, this show isnt as good as the original in Tennesee and they actually give you silver ware to eat, but it is something not to be missed in a lifetime! Also I would check out the dinner theatre at Arabian Nights. One day you could hit what you can at Universal until 5 and then go to a dinner theatre, and then go back to USF or IOA the next day to get what you missed...this IMO is the only way you could use more than 2 days at Unversal Studios..both parks combined! If I have some other ideas I will pass them along...also remember you can create a memorable vacation by possibly hitting all that there is to do in the new City Walk additions, or one of the Fun park/go-cart places on the "Orlando Strip", right outside of Kissimee! Oh in reminder dont forget about some of the neat indian areas close to orlando, like gator land and other non traditional places like that...sometimes it is the special things that separates a vacation from the ordinary vacation! As Captain Picard states below...you would enjoy Cypress Gardens as there are some nice rides that you ride double on....DO NOT miss the ski show, it is what Cypress Gardens is known for! However the only draw back to this park is...it is mainly for those who enjoy smaller parks, and enthusiasts fond of just visiting as many parks as possible to say that they've been there. I went last year and enjoyed the place as a 17 year old, but to be completely honest, being a thrill seeker It left a little bit to be desired! I am not sure that an 18 year old will have too much fun if he is only in the thrillseeker group. Think of Cypress Gardens as a larger Lesourdsville Lake, with more rides and better landscaping and the exact same attendance figures as LL had in 1998-99. There are some nice rides there though all in all so take a chance...your 12 year olds may love it, and so will you and your wife!

Paramount Parks web sites have changed
I've never really liked that type of map, its just like the ones at Busch Gardens, and I think they are really hard to read! I prefer the ones that KI has used the last couple of years or the type of map used by universal or Disney World, now those are some nice maps!

work shifts at KI?
Does anyone know what the shift hours are at KI? Do all positions share these shifts? A friend told me that there are three shifts, but that he did not know the times, any help would be appreciated!
