I had my phone fall out of my pocket on Vortex in the middle of one of those corskrews, and I felt it laying behind my back...it kept moving so I put my hand back there to try and pin it down till the ride was over and I didnt and it slowly fell out to the right of me and there it was outside of the car in mid-air, and I just reached out my hand the best I could and snatched it...I was amazed! time Like stood still It was crazy!

You bring up Valid points but as the old license plates used to say, Ohio is "The Heart of it All". Id keep the flagship whether it is CP forever or eventually KI in Ohio. -

Yeah, but Im talking two physical floors, not a pier, and not having one floor partially underground. I'm talking a 400 foot tall structure...200 feet tall for the first floor and 200 feet on the top floor. Im simply throwing it out there, but does anyone think this will ever be achieved? -

I dunno, but man am I psyched! Roller Coasters only go so far, I really do enjoy some crowd pumping vocal and physical performances when I am at the park. I liked School of Rock alot, problem was...it was the only show -

you do bring up an interesting point Reclaimer...I wonder if in 70 years+ some of us will see a two-tiered amusement park...you know two-hundred foot tall coaster on the bottom then...a greatly supported roof and another two-hundred foot tall coaster on top! Ahh, you have got to love the future, with all its mystery! -
I have to agree with you interpreter...I cant wait to take my first flight on Firehawk!
-
uninspired layout, I suppose this means that you dont like zooming through those Gigantic Rosebowls? I for one love going through those at such a high rate of speed...minus the headaches!

I for one am a big fan of Parking garages at those parks, you dont have to walk through a desert to get to the front gates! It would be a great thing for CP and possible even KI to do sometime in the distant or for all we know close future! -
All I can say, is play dressup with IJ:ST make it presentable from where its at. continue with the Military theming that you have over in Fort Cooper. I would contact the USAFM and get help mocking up a fighter jet to place in a very scenic display, to help tie the whole area together. I would also stick with the theming of Action Zone...Everything over there aside from congo Falls is really an Action Zone type theme when you think about it...the premise of SoB is trying to capture the son, so there is action. I would however take out that vast spanse of concrete and put in some nice shade trees. I dont care what Kind...but CF, AZ needs trees! Tomb Raider needs to be rethemed somewhat on the inside I believe, but from the very outside with the jeep on display and the tall grasses, and bamboo queue I think that the ride does mix in with the concept of "River Town" It looks like a desolate area that you could find near a river. So I say other than IJ:ST being in a really bad spot, if CF really concentrates on theming new zones not neccesarily just overly correcting these old ones, then it will really tend to hide the spots that arent theme as well! Which I dont see it as being too bad at KI.

I feel that way too, at least one can only hope!

no, GL didnt have enough staff or patrons to consistently run both sides of the station.
-
Yah I like my avatar too! GO BUCKS! on the National Championship...you cant win 'em all, I personally think next year will be a good year!
-
I would not be mad at all if they just waited until next year to open it fully...do it right, and re-market it as new and improved!
-
They did have the dual loading station at GL, however as many people here will tell you this plan was not executed very well there at all. They frequently only used one side of the station.

Thats the most intelligent thing that has been said today! -
Personally I agree with you...I think, I like the scooby ride. But from what I have heard PT was alot like a "Haunted Mansion" which is perhaps one of my favorite rides at Disney. They did the right thing in putting in Scooby, but the park should have quit subtracting to add so darn much in the last several years. I would have liked to see more theming and development of the park. I also do, like I said in the post above, want to see a ride similar to the execution of "Pirates of The Carribean" somewhere in the park...perhaps next year now that we have a coaster.
-
Just so you know marlfox if you want to be more like Disney, you put in Disney style theming, add some disney style rides, hire disney style entertainment, request a Disney style price (although they have many new family friendly prices) and provide disney style customer service. Your whole post just kinda nullified itself the more you typed, lol Yes you put in different attractions than what Disney offers, but Hauntguy is talking about aiming for "DISNEY quality" not just duplicating every Disney ride as you are implying. I for one would like to see a Pirates of the Carribean TYPE ride (not the same exact thing Marlfox) in KI sometime in the near future!

Geauga Lake Takes New Direction
Cory Butcher replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Actually no.... that is what LL is needing to do if it ever hopes to be a park again. LL opened trying to accomodate whoever it could and actually did quite well. Problem was, LL was ran like a six Flags park and the accomodations for guests weren't that great. The 2002 season would have finished the entire year had it not been for the management company deciding not to pay bills and then just leave. The park management company, The Pughes took advantage of the Park Owner Jerry Couch and he was forced to close shop for the year. It had nothing to do with LL's business model!
