What would YOU like to see in Kings Island?
Cory Butcher replied to TheBEASTFreak's topic in KI Polls
I would like to see pretty much anything, from another water ride, to another roller coaster, to a flat ride with swinging gondolas...I just love to ride! like most of you...however, Kings Island needs in my mind before all else another show, in the next two years they need to have another show, I would like to finally enjoy KI with my grandparents, but I cant because they dont particularily like the big rides but will ride moderate rides. Please, CF give me another show, or maybe even a Tilt-a-whirl, something that just has tremendous entertainment value! Or...just give me more rollercoasters and they can go to Disney -

Six Flags To Sell 7 Parks!
Cory Butcher replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I have to agree with you rail rider! The only park that six Flags has that seems to contain decent infrastructure and some great rides is SFOG I love that place. The only bad things about it are the main street area, is nothing like that of KI or a Disney or CP, and most anywhere you go in the park there are some funky smells, but that could be because of that Georgia mold in places. In refering to the main street area, when you walk in through the turnstiles it doesnt feel like a grand amusement park, it is as if it was an after thought, you are greeted by a giant fake facade, and then when you walk through its just a really bland use of space. -
Six Flags To Sell 7 Parks!
Cory Butcher replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well, 312 Million isnt too much, but the price was for 3 water parks and 4 themeparks. Last time I checked Water parks are greatly cheaper than themeparks, mainly for the lack of technology. If you take out what would be a good price for a water park, they werent sold too cheaply but, yes, cheap indeed. Six Flags has some good, but uninspired unthemed attractions, but their parks just arent up to snuff! Rumorsmasher, you brought up in a pevious post that Six Flags had at one point of time invested 40 million dollars and four coasters, into one of its parks in one year, and that you wish that PKI would do that, and that 10 million dollars that PKI is getting isnt too good. Well, you better count your lucky stars, because it is that kind of whimsical spending that Six Flags exhibits, that nets them a $5.00/share operation and having to costantly pull out of debt! I am so happy that PKI wasnt bought by six Flags, Paramount was never as bad as they were at running a business. -
Son Of Beast: Out of the Loop!
Cory Butcher replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Im pretty sure that those trains wont be used, remember they used the current train decor because they are like some rover type vehicle used to track down the son who got out! So I dont see them switching to those types of trains. Those trains sure do look comfortable though! almost like a luxury roller coaster train. -
looks to me like he is behind any and all gates, I see no problem with it!
-
I'm assuming that you are refering to the Roller coaster scene in Final Destination 3? Thank god hydraulics dont just fail like that, and that there are numerous fail safes implemented on Coasters!

I dont like the Eifel Tower idea..too campy, its one thing to have a monorail run through a contemporary hotel, and a completely different one to run a train through a parks lamdmark. Yah, bad Idea!

Kings Island History, Both Old and New
Cory Butcher replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Personally I dont think that the Paramount years were that bad. Granted, I am younger than most, and the Paramount period is all that is known. But, for the most part we have seen, a tremendous kids area, filled with actual kiddie thrill rides...excuse me FAMILY rids not just some carnival cars running in circles crap. plus ride theming is better than you will find at any Six Flags park, as all of you know! Also, we have not been shut off from the outside world when it comes to getting new rides, Delirium, TRTR, Italian JOB, the Son of Beast persistence, and even the Sponge Bob ride in the Paramount action FX theater is kinda nice. All in all it hasnt been horrible years, we do still have a park you know, which cannot be said about once great destinations such as Lesourdsville Lake, or Opryland USA or even Sea World that once blessed the State of Ohio at Geauga Lake. -
HAHA, why?

OH Amusement Park Workers Exempt from Min Wage Increase
Cory Butcher replied to jzarley's topic in Kings Island
what I dont understand is why jobs that have a minimum age of 16 years of age, pay the exact same as jobs that require an age of 18. Just seems like you would pay more to the jobs that require greater responsibility, or why even have the age specifications then? -
Interpreter is right.... Corporation -publicly traded -stock known as "shares" offered to the public -share holders vote on operations with one vote per share or one vote worth a percentage. -shares are bought to raise capitol for the company, however they also provide direct ownership and input Limited Partnership -like corporation can be Public or Privatly offered -again stock is refered to as a share, but does not carry the same authority as a Corporate stock offerings -Share holders do not vote on operations unless given consent by the partnership -Shares are sold to raise Capitol however these are purely investment based and provide no input or physical ownership of the company Hope this clarification helps! basically, in a "Co." stock=complete but partial ownership and in a "LP" stock=incomplete and partial ownership!

UPDATE: http://www.geaugalaketoday.com/ They have updated us with progress through Jan, 6 if anyone cares. The author, says that he feels that the majority of the coaster will be down by January. The thing is certainly coming down quick!
-
I'm not even completely sure that there was an actual judgement, I was thinking Frivolous. but your right again, look at the OJ Simpson wrongful death suit, he is suppose to pay a judgement of near 30 million dollars, and he hasnt given a dime!
-
I didnt say that, Texan did, I was just telling you which court battle for him, lol Im with you though, to the best of my knowledge they didnt get anything either, it was one of those, both of you were stupid, so im not gonna hear the case...but I could be wrong.
-
The Court Battle in 2000 was between Paramount Parks..specifically PKI and the company that was contracted to help engineer SOB Roller Coaster Corporation of America I believe. PKI sued because they felt that they would have problems with SOB. RCCA said they would only have them because PKI elected to build SOB by themselves rather than using them to build the ride.

oh well, 10,000,000 is a large amount, not huge, no 200,000,000 but its a start, and Im glad we got it!
-
ten million gives us one more thrill, not really all that bad, like ive said better than nothing!
-
yah exactly, thanks for agreeing with me...Id rather get x-flight than nothing!
-
you would if you were getting paid to make those trains
-
Well, I like all coasters so I welcome X-Flight! Most of my friends dont like Top Gun cuz its too short, but i love it, its a ride, its fun, so I enjoy it...simple. So, if X-Flight is even halfway decent, then woohoo, im excited I now have another 15-20 minutes wait+ride time that I dont have to wander around the park wondering which ride Ill ride for the 20th time that day. because that is what happens now, I can get throught the whole park 2-3 rides on each ride, maybe like 7 on racer and 4 on Vortex in only like 3-4 hours if you hit them at the right times...that gets boring when you go as much as I do!
-
Sheikra was really smooth too, I have to agree! Really all of Bush Gardens Coasters except for the crappy 30 sec Python were smooth, Gwazi not so much, but the fun factor of it was amazing, its my favorite woody next to The Beast of course!

7188 I figured the 7 was July, 1 was the first and 88 was your year. You are two days older than me, I too have a late birthday July 3rd, 1988 is when I was born. Where are you going to college?
