i unlike the rest of you believe in innocent until proven guilty, but this isnt a criminal case. The criminal case got thrown out in municipal, basically saying although not in exact terms and certainly not even a judgement but that the man is innocent. When cases like this start in the criminal stage, you nearly never see them thrown out, because the public does not like possible sex offenders getting off easy, there is extreme pressure put on courts to find anything they can to continue sexual misconduct cases. Hence the Duke Lacrosse Case....although on a much more significant level it is an illustration of my point. You all are so quick to say that this guy should be dropped on his head, but the criminal courts have said there wasnt enough evidence, there is always enough evidence in these cases if they are true! I know several female acquaintenances (not friends, I dont hang with this type of person that gets a high out of making others suffer) that would have no problem at all doing something like this to garner attention or what have you. There are certainly a lot of holes and none of us have the right to declare that this man has done something wrong, especially if he has not done anything wrong at all!

You do provide a very good point Avatar, and at first I was reading this article with a bias toward defending and protecting KI and punishing the plaitiff. But then, I understood that the charges against were thrown out of municipal court, so I could see how he does have a valid argument. What I dont like is that 10 Million dollars is what we were getting for a new ride, althought that wont be scrubbed, I cant help but think that when a park gets sued like this look how much of a strain it could put on operations. I want so badly for PKI not to have to pay out but, he may actually have a case, Its too bad that PKI and the officers had to get sued though, its not their fault they went off what they were told. If he is found to have been perfectly within his rights then it is the girls who cried wolf that should be sued!

yeah I dont really think that effects PR, sure some fanboys could still be ticked that King Cobra is gone, but most people realize that it is the nature of the Biz.
-
I am basing this judgement purely on appearance of Greed...He is asking for $10 Million and even suing the Police separately! He could be innocent but it sounds quite ployish ,and also if he was roughed up a little, I hope the judgement is reduced quite a bit, cuz 10 Million seems excessive.

I plan on being there, I want to know a little bit more about what they have to offer in terms of benefits, and a little better description of duties than what the online application offers.

They obviously left the opening date on there, I looked directly over that. The point is go to the Attraction fact sheet and you will see that they updated the SoB fact sheet on January 9th. The link doesnt show you when they updated it, so go the way I just stated. If aside from giving the opening in the present tense everything else is correct from now on then it appears that they will keep the premier trains.

http://www3.paramountparks.com/kingsisland...cfm?item_id=465 Check out the above link. It is the updated ride stats page for SoB as of January 9 which is just 7 days ago. The page lists Premier still as the train manufacturer, if indeed they knew a month ago that they were changing trains I dont think they would update the stats until all arrangements were finalized. With that said, This is possibly the finalized version of what SoB will be!

im not understanding your equation?

If some ride's names were to be changed so that they dont reflect Paramount movies, then IJ:ST would be renamed like Car Chase or Road Hazzard, or something cool that the CF folks would come up with. And if mini Cooper doesnt want to sponsor anymore then the Minis could be removed, and have some generic car shell put in there place, that sounds reasonable.

Yeah, this game is stupid...I dont want to play anymore, I never win! Ah..how I miss those Elementary school days!

I have to agree with Rail Rider, Busch Gardens is an absolutely amazing park, I held a season pass there last year, even though we live in Ohio, it was that great. They have four of the best roller coasters that you will ever ride in Gwazi, Kumba, Montu and Sheikra, and the safari is unbelievable. Also the Park is kept up nice and the staff although always busy are very hospitable! They also have some great shows! I will visit Busch Gardens many more times in my future, It also to me was tied if not better in some areas than the "2nd happiest place on Earth" or USF!

Ralph Stricker dies
Cory Butcher replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well your opinion to the best of my knowledge is the right opinion! In everything that I have heard from people who would correspond with Ralph Stricker he was happy with the current size and stature of his park. R.I.P. Ralph Stricker -
well said Ronny!

Yah, i like that feeling too! Disneys parks are set up like that, you go turnstiles and come to almost a gathering area to wait for the rest of your family and as they come out you look up and see the landmark, then you walk forward for a picture, and as you get to the landmark, you can see the whole park, I love that feeling!

well and she also works at an investment firm, so she knows all about the stock market and this sort of corporate announcement. I am pretty sure that everyone around here has heard from a news cast or other wise that SOB had problems, it was big on the newscasts thats for sure, and the measures that were to be taken. We will not know for certain how many know, but I do believe half the population that goes to PKI knows of the adjustments being made. Now decidedly we dont know for sure but as far as exposure goes, millions have been exposed to the SOB fiasco, and some number smaller than that was aware of its closing, and then a number a bit smaller than that was aware of PKI's exact measures to be taken. So going on exposure alone, many people are aware, going on anybody that works in an environment such as my mom knows, Some stockholders of PKI knew, and most stock holders of FUN now know, any members of these forums know, some visitors to pki.com to get season tickets, saw the press release heading. Going on exposure many people know, about the fiascos!

I have to disagree with you on the amount of people finding out, It was in Cincinnati enquirer, Dayton Daily, Springfield Sun Times, The miamisburg news here where I live, and every news station at 6, 10, and 11 when the announcement was made. My mom hates this stuff, and even she knew what was happening when I asked her. I think anybody that visits the park more than twice a summer knows about the situation, because of you go three times, well your gonna know the place, and care about it, I know even some of the people I talk with who dont care about anything PKI but go there occasionaly, know exactly what is happening! That .04% sounds roughly accurate, im not sure how many people go to KI seasonally, but it sounds like it would possibly equate, dont forget about these other forums too, there is some overlap but the point is anyone that lives within a 17 mile radius of me and gets the exact same news as me heard the Press release on the News if they were home and watching at 6,10, 11 even if they were watching Simpsons at 5:30 on Fox the day of the announcement, they knew that at 6 they would find out that the loop was removed and trains modified. People arent as shut off from the world as you give them credit for!
-
hah, i dont want it to go away, I just dont want it to have another location inside the park, especially not one where a better alternative could be positioned, like in the IR for example. but, yah I would keep all the starbucks, people luvv coffee :/
-
I know that the public could really care less compared to what we think. But, they would be able to notice some differences. Plus, there are 2,000 some people registered on this forum plus another couple thousand that pay attention here but do not post, plus even more who know about the problems with the trains, and then you have a whole bunch of people who have read about the use of "lighter trains" in the newspaper or heard about it on the news. Im not saying they would remember whether a coaster had two benches or three, but when they see the ride, they will remember if that was the former train or not. But, the minute everybody sees that they COMPLETELY got rid of the loop and COMPLETELY got rid of the trains, and KI releases exactly what they did, people will feel much more assured that they wont be the ones on the ride the next time it cracks a beam. so yes, noone but us cares what the exact dimensions are of the track and the cars and what materials they are made out of, but most people are explicitly aware that something on SOB the track or the trains have caused a problem and this will affect Public opinion for years to come!
-
maybe, but people will be dispersed all over the place, you will only see a marginal increase. I for one do not like the starbucks idea one bit! I hate Coffee, I just want to see a nice sit down restaurant that serves anything but friggin hotdogs and hamburgers! I could go for like a TGIF, or Applebees, where I could get maybe some chicken Parmigian that would be amazing!
-
so has anyone ate at the Buffet? What is it called now? and is the food good, I went a bunch last year, but never really looked at it!
-
way to take a look at the issue Avatar! Now what should we do in Iraq? Just kidding I dont want to open that can of worms, not in here! lol
-
yeah I understand, from a cost standpoint, modding would be the way to go, but also a "band-aid", From a PR standpoint and fixing it all up rightm I would be looking torwards new trains. But the PR release says that lighter trains will be used what that means I dont know, I guess they wil be lighter what ever we get!
-
I dont neccesarily like the atmosphere, but that is usually where Ill eat unless I grab something from Skyline or subway. I always get the chicken tenders, and they are edible, but then again it is hard to mess those up! they need to lighten up the inside, more lighting, and it wont be so bad! And they have already taken care of the buffet angle at the park with the Wings Diner refurb....anyone ate there...whats it like??? I would like to see a true restaurant maybe back by AE/FOF/X-FLIGHT, I dont know really where else it could be put, and there isnt much back there, I dont even think the restaurant has to be themed, but we deff need a service restaurant, I think each of Disney's parks has just one or two.
-
well there is the smart ass comment of the day, lol, glad were off to a good start! Im jk Captain Picard! Anyways, I see new trains, I dont know from where or who, but I deff dont think they will lose much weight be even attempting to modify the current trains. And if noone will build trains, which I think they will, KI has been know to fab things themselves!

Son Of Beast: Out of the Loop!
Cory Butcher replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
HAHA now common man thats not nice, now is it? But too darn funny!
