Jasper, its never wrong to call anything beautiful! Your exactly right, that is one beautiful Picture, and I am sure noone will give us crap about saying that, unless its interpreter trying to make a pun lol
-
That is and hopefully will always be that beautiful of a scene. That truly says former Paramount Park, but it really reminds me of all the great times that I've had at KI!

I would like to know more information on the positions listed below.... 1. Food and Beverage Warehouse-Day shift 2.Games-Warehouse Associate 3.Merchandise Warehouse-Distribution 4.Merchandise Warehouse-Inventory Control 5.Merchandise Warehouse-Reciever 6.Ride Operations- Associate Also do any of the positions aside from pan and broom and housekeeping make more hourly than the others? This is not of major concern, just would like to know! Any info that you guys could provide would be outstanding! Also, to whomever answers on the topics of the warehousing positions...where exactly is the wharehouse? Is this something that must be driven to off site? Thank you again to all for taking the time!

yah, but thank you for reading it! And your post is exactly what I was aiming for, Volunteering is a great way to help get things off the ground! I volunteered a few years back to plant trees along the Great Miami River..the trees not only help hold soil in place, they prevent flooding by being somewhat of a blockade. Also this method is much cheeper than engineering more dykes (sp?) and controlled banks. When all was said and done, I had a great respect for the Miami Conservency and all the work that they do, as I worked right along side some of their best and some homeless people given a chance to succeed on their own! It was a great experience, yes the flies were biting like crazy on the hot and Humid April day...in the morning at least And afterwards I too felt great about myself and great that the community was helped by my efforts!

i think I may have not been clear enough! I understand that Corporate America charity is bigger than anywhere else in the world...I dont have a problem with Corporate America. My problem is that too many people are willing just to give a buck rather than help people earn it! I believe that instead of just donating, people should also be given opportunities to succeed (you know...public works programs). I was making a distinction between Cedar Fair donating those coats for a worthy cause and bringing back that free for school groups just to appease the Public. There is a difference between mass charity (handouts) and work programs (hands up). I am completely satisified with the amount of charity given, Corporate America deffinately gives more than their fair share! I just wish some of it was gone about a little bit differently so that people can be held accountable (where deserved) like the rest of us. I was giving another idea of a way that companies or people could help out! I did not mean to trash corporations charitable contributions, I just wanted to get into some more ways that needy people could be helped. Does that help straighten my post out a little? I in no way meant to come off as ignorant to Corporate charity, but to simply inject another...perhaps better way of helping others!
-
I am very happy that those coats went to needy people of the community, but I have just one question, when do we as a nation stop giving "handouts" and start giving "hands up"? Everything circulates around donations and charity, but the point that big companies like Cedar Fair, and some of my more liberal brethren miss is that some of these people could be put in some better position to not just have their donated coat, but to maybe buy food as well, and maybe in a few years have the cash to buy their own coats. I would just really like to see more considerate helping/giving and less public image giving. I am sure Cedar Fair meant good, and everysingle one of us would have done that, I am not taking that for granted..Kudos to Cedar Fair..I just would like to see more community involvement from some of these corps and other people in society. This certainly does seem to be one area in which Cedar Fair is superior to other chains and even other companies insofar that they do try to give back to the community. Great job Cedar Fair, now please do the same great job on KI and we will all worship you!

What else is new, SoB didnt open till "Early June" last year due to "major retracking". They can take as long as the want to fix it in my book, everytime I got off of it last year, SoB earned its nickname. I would get off and say "Son of a B**** my neck!"

Idk, too me it is not all that important that the Rollercoasters be completely diverse. Its nice to have all different styles of rides. If its chain lift, inverted, woodie, steelie, suspended, LIM and it is exciting to ride, then I see no reason to limit different types of coasters!

Ok, will they go any more indepth on some of the job positions than they do online? Cuz I would like to know a little more about some of them!
-
Ok, I am going to the job fair on Feb 17th, and had some simple questions for those who may know! I could apply online right now but I would like to apply at the job fair, and see exactly where I would like to work in the park, if selected. Can somebody please tell me what exactly will happen at the JF? I really have no clue, and although im not nervous persay it is just really new to me, and am wondering what may happen once I'm there.

I hope your not with that stuff lol

Thats what I was thinking, because the show ran from 68-70 and KI wasnt open til 1972 as we all know, also from watching that video, I felt that the Midway shot looked much to wide to be KI's. I know that it used to be manacured that nice, but I couldn't help but think that that was Coney Island. It would make sense for the movie to be shot at KI in 72 however, too bad that we dont have any clips of that.
-
The two rides that I remember from my very first visit, to KI and the only ones I remember for that matter are Days of Thunder and the Flying Eagles!
-
see, I really dont have a problem with Firehawk, I would much rather have the ride named after a plane or "Darkstar" I like that one, but I wouldnt mind if it was named Firehawk. I think "Dogfight" would be neat but I dont know how many people would understand that. Or maybe "MIG" or "Bogey". I do kinda like "MIG"

I will second that nomination we still need to create a group dedicated to "Putting the Coney back in Coney Mall" That area of the park has lost the reason why it is Coney Mall.

I must say that the best train that I have ever been on is The train that rides around Busch Gardens Africa (Tampa Bay, FL). I love all the stops and the scenery, you can see all the animals as well, and it is a great place to see the whole parks. Everytime that I visit Busch Gardens the very first thing that I get on is the Train! lots of other people will tell you that too! Its just a nice relaxing trip around the park. And after the train, Rhino Rally!

um..hopefully I'll be working there, and I live only 30 minutes away as well, straight down 741! I can't wait!
-
I would love to see a heavy dose of Fog piped up through the valley type area where Top Gun is, I think that would be really nice to go zooming through not just the terrain but through some fog that imitated a cloudy atmosphere as well.
-
I think Shman is referring to the fact that it will be indeed titled "Firehawk", since he was reffering to the earlier pages! I don't know if that is the right name or not...but perhaps the troll new of what he spoke? Also, in regards to the fog/mist issue...when you go down that dark tunnel on IJ:ST isnt that tunnel really foggy or Misty? I always cant see anything and find it to be very cool/misty in there.

So I had a nice long detailed, non-inflammatory post explaining my opinion, that took me a long to write....and it got deleted. Why did this happen? I didn't violate ant T.O.S no cursing nothing, just a nice long post... and it got deleted..why?

More Materials Arriving at Kings Island!
Cory Butcher replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
THOSE days are gone...sorry I had too, I grew up with Paramount, and quite Frankly, I like FOF, Top Gun, IJ:ST, SoB, Face/Off, Avatar, Reptar.I believe if you look at it, half of the ride lineup is Paramount ERA now of course the themed areas of the park have suffered, but as far as rides are concerned, we have attempted to keep up with the Jones's and I gladly defend Paramount for that! -
Woofer must hate FOF then

would you like to see the current theming removed
Cory Butcher replied to raptor's topic in KI Polls
Thats a good question, never really thought about it, but if I had to kinda guess I would say that when you go from first drop to second drop your train is sort facing Off with itself or something like that, that is about all that I can draw! -
The first time that I ever saw fireworks at King's Island was during Fourth of July about 3 years ago. We stood approx where the Demonic Christmas thing was during Fear Fest of course it wasnt there on Fourth of July but that was the area, sort of by Subway, Skyline and Monster and the Football game in Coney Maul. The last time that I saw fireworks, I was at the top of the lift on Vortex....Simply AMAZING!

would you like to see the current theming removed
Cory Butcher replied to raptor's topic in KI Polls
I originally voted no on the question but it wasnt a No it was a half yes/no. I have grown up with the Paramount Park and Didn't actually have a season pass until 2002, other than that my visits were quite sporadic. I always liked that the rides were movie themed just like the big cahunas in WDW and what used to be Universal, but it didnt occur to me until now that things really dont fit like they should. After reading all your posts, I would like to see movie theming and current theming to go by the wayside, If we are gonna go for landscaping than we need to do it right, and if we were gona go for movie themes than we should have done that right! so I change me vote to Yes remove the theming, I am for a complete revamping!
