Great report, Gary! First Behemoth, then Diamondback, now Intimidator...I was afraid Intimidator would steal the spotlight! Good to hear about the airtime, I wouldn't expect less with B&M's newer designed hills. I've heard the same about after the MCBR...looks pretty lame for me, but I guess they really wanted that 3 train operation. The ending looks very...poorly planned or less thought out. Like, "And after the MCBR...oh crap we've got a tiny bit of space and money left to spend....so a scrunched up helix and brakes." But even Diamondback slacks after the MCBR, so no one is perfect. Afterburn is awesome, isn't it?! Diving through the trenches, the zero g...yup, fantastic ride. I *LOVE* Mystery Mine. It's one of my top favorite rides, just because of the whole package. Outside theming, music, area, the ride, the sensations, the *surprises* (cough second vertical lift cough). Thunderhead was somewhat disapointing for me, it was much rougher than I expected, and Kentucky Rumbler seemed to have much better airtime. But Thunderhead did have those crazy tight turns that threw you around. And I didn't forget Tornado...yeah, that ride is phenominal. Can't wait to visit again! See you at Diamondback.. -Zach

OFFICIAL! Son of Beast Will NOT Operate in 2010
Ki Man replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I rode it in 2009, I don't feel like I need to ride it again. Waste of money. -
Thanks everyone! I use a Nikon D40 with a 18-200mm lense. My aim is to take the best pictures possible, so I can skip editing them. I hate using photoshop, I think it's a way of covering up flaws on a mediocre picture....but it also has some neat effects, but I don't bother using it.

I tried looking through the forums to see if I've posted these photos before, but I couldn't find it. I think I just posted a TR of the trip....regardless, enjoy the pics! I can't wait to visit in May. Ah, Cedar Point. Only a 3.5 hour drive for me. Mmm, Raptor. A very nice B&M invert. Millennium Force warms up. Heading up the 45* steep lift. Mmmm Intamin hills. Diamondback > MF Weeeee overbank. MF Fanboys (or girl) rejoyce! I found Nemo! Yeah, feel those 5g's right about here. Yes. Yes. Yes. Alright, you've had enough attention. Here's where the real fun is at. Skloosh. Skloosh. Gone. Can you spot what's wrong with this picture? Mmm airtime hill. Ohhh yeah. Skyhawk isn't that bad. Old age. Love it love it love it From the other side of the park 2nd overbank. Another very very fun ride. Love that top hat! Going down. Heading to 120mph Nice day, eh? An interesting angle... New restraints, PLEASE. Intamin booty juice. Nascar driver on a Top Thrill Dragster. Ha. OMG So much fun to take pictures of. Taking off.. Into the brakes... Annnddd I'm spent. Up and over. Mantis..eh. Yum. Incredible. My favorite steel. Sandusky harbour in the backround. See the airtime? S&S ..meh. I've been on way better S&S stuff. Bye bye MF. And the sun starts to set... Hey everyone! I love working and riding Diamondback, so why not show my support for the ride! Most of you know I do a bit of photography at theme parks, so I'd like to show off Diamondback's life so far! Starting with construction, winter tour, opening day, and regular season, oh and night time! It's almost April 17th... Enjoy, -Zach Here we are in 2008, when Diamondback's construction started... Then BAM! B&M is erected. Diamondback gets lonely in the freezing cold Cincinnati winter. Lots of curves look very nice... Station is coming along nicely... Massive 2nd hill, fantastic airtime heaven here. Snow snow snow.... Cincinnati winter sucks! Opening weekend! What a horrible day...2nd day open and it's sleeting. Who cares, there's new B&M hotness! The watersplash is a neat new feature. Who said watersplashes don't interact with guests on the ride? Yeah, come sit in Diamondback's Row 16 and look backwards right here. It's like Old Faithful shooting up right behind you! Very refreshing on a hot day. Let's not forget the amazing 215ft drop at 78* angle. Quick, steep lift with fantastic views. Count those hills, then try to imagine floating in your seat and getting your butt kicked out of it! Each time. Longer trains = huge pull down the drops in the back. Front seat leaves you hanging over a 230ft cliff. Weeeeee She's pretty. Front, back, or middle...all completely different rides. 4 seconds of pure free fall from 230ft in the air. New hotness. Pick your poison: Brown train, Red train, or Green train Old scool and new school Airtime heaven At night it just gets better! Yeah you can't see anything in those woods. Oh joy, more coasters nerds will come to Kings Island now! Wow, just gotta be here to see this! Plan your visit to Kings Island now! Night rides are a must... Snake skin. Hey, I work here! Oh, check out those new B&M trains. Guy demonstrates how to ride! The train's approaching, come on over to Cincinnati and get in line! Into the final drop Helix - Diamondback slacks on the intensity that Goliath at SFOG has. But makes up for it with airtime! Layout isn't too bad either! Best drop on any coaster I've been on. Millennium Force, get out of here. Diamondback's on top in Ohio. What's hiding in the woods.. Perhaps the funniest expression I've captured! Mmm..coaster track and fireworks. Hope you all enjoyed! Kings Island opens April 17th, stop by Diamondback and say hello! --Zach

I prefer Six Flags over Texas' Shock Wave WAY over SFOG's Mindbender. The extremity of air and forces was far greater; but Mindbender does look nicer. Goliath tops Diamondback in my opinion...Goliath has the air and the forces, as well as the landcape with the layout. Diamondback's layout is nice, but flying through the trees at the end of Goliath is sooo much fun. Oh yeah, Goliath's helix kicks the crap out of any positive/lateral force Diamondback tries to throw at you!

I'm sure it will look great! They are even painting Reptar to look nice and shiny. Names aren't everything for a ride, but c'mon. You have to admit that if those are the names going to be used, then yikes. It's true the name won't effect the ride's performance, but how about some respect for what used to be an amazing kids area? I'm hoping the new Great Pumpkin/Scooby replacement will at least be an improvement. And I just think it's funny that KI will probably win best kids area....again; over all the other parks stated above.
-
Most of these names are godawful. I'm anticipating more cardboard cut outs that don't move in "The Great Pumpkin Ride" yeah, let's shoot pumpkins. Can't wait to see Kings Island beat out Islands of Adventure, Disney World/Land, Lego Land, and many more in the "Best Kidz Area" section of the Golden Tickets. There's no way Harry Potter will be able to keep up with us in the WORLD'S BEST KIDS AREA!

2010-present: "The Fun and Only" BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ehh, I guess it's okay. But c'mon.

I'm for The Spirit of the Apollo.

A decade of Roller Coasters

2009 - Gabe does a mock 'stop yelling at Brittany' video and actually cries about Son of Beast, pouring out his true feelings for the ride. He won 3 Tony awards and no one cares. -
Delirium during Fear Fest '06....I'm pretty sure the wind chill factor was in the negatives!

It's better than sex. No sarcasm at all..it's like the 8th wonder of the world. You don't believe me?

Merry Christmas from Cedar Point & Cedar Fair!

HA! I wish everyone had this attitude year-round. -
Kill it with fire plasmids. Then bees. _ _ _ _loads of bees.

My family went to GWL over break last year. It was a LOT of fun with the waterpark, but everything else wasn't that great. I thought our room was VERY overpriced, as well as the food. So many kids were running around outside our room at, what...12am-1am?! Not to mention weird mechanical noises I heard that woke me up...and I'm not a light sleeper. I wish I could go just for the waterpark, because they have really high quality rides. Everything else...very meh.
-
It's very diverse. It's okay, nothing amazing..it's just a big mix of different coasters.
-
Well, Diamond Back at Kingsisland has a bendy lift. Diamondback at Kings Island a perfectly straight 230ft 42* angle lift hill! Wow! It's also a roller coaster! It goes fast! Yippee! Like racecars! Hey, maybe that's why CF's builting the Intimidators! What a great plan!

First time I've visited in quite a while. Seems to be the trend; I'll check out and post some pictures or a comment here or there. Maybe once a month is tolerable.
-
I also visited Six Flags over and Fiesta Texas, but Imageshack isn't working right now, so maybe I'll post some from those parks later.
