    eek! Top gun!

I love Top Gun. If it goes, I'll be terribly disappointed. I little change is a good thing. Retheme, make it new, it'll be all good! As long as "retheming" doesn't include "removing". deb
  2. according to MapQuest: 110.64 miles 2 hours on the nose. Eastern Indiana deb
  3. I worked at Wal-Mart for nearly 4 years. We had shoplifting on a daily basis, from employees. I worked at the courtesy desk (took returns) and when I'd do the evening cleaning, I'd almost always find an empty DVD or CD case, stuffed into a corner somewhere. I know it was an employee, because of 2 things: 1. only employees are permitted in that area; and 2. when it's found on the floor stolen, the employee would bring it to me to send to claims. This went on the whole time I worked at the courtesy desk. To be honest, I was kinda afraid they were gonna think I stole it (I still feel bad about forgetting to return a borrowed pencil in 1st grade....) and I'd be terminated because of it. I had never even been asked about any of those claims. I found out why from a friend who works there still after I had quit... One of the managers had been stealing and keeping gift cards. She had it down to a science... I could spot a lying customer from the opening of a door, but she had me fooled. She'd been with the company for about 5 years, and had stolen about $70,000 in goods and gift cards in the time she had worked there. The store managers KNEW she was doing it, and they had been keeping tabs on her (silently) for a LONG time. Needless to say, she was prosecuted and banned from EVERY Wal-Mart in the world. I have a philosophy about why NOT to steal. If you can't afford to BUY it, you don't need it. (this includes credit cards...) deb
  4. Remember the Breakfast Burritos at McDs? I used to make those.... hot tomatoes are icky! (smell like rotten tomatoes... we grew our own) deb
  5. At Camden Park, they had this ride that was airplanes, and went in circles and up and down. Terrified me. I ralphed. And I also ralphed on the Spider at Camden Park. I was about 6, what can u expect? deb
  6. I just want to know if any of my guesses were right. deb
  7. oh wow. That's just crazy. It's odd how these incidents haven't made the news in the same way as all the other ones have. deb
  8. Has anyone ever posted the answers to the scavenger hunt from the KICentral.com event? I've searched multiple times and cannot seem to find them. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to find them, and if so, I sorry!!! Anyone? thanks again! deb

    Take a Ride Out

Action FX Theater has seemed to run it's time. Only one side is used anymore. Every time I go, there are NUMEROUS seats strapped out and unplugged. There is rarely a line, unless it's excessively hot and rainy. That are would be FANTASTIC for a thrill ride of a new kind, I just don't know what. And Days of Thunder seems to never have anyone there. Neither does the eugobungee thingies. I mean, they could put in a ferris wheel back where the AFXT is, and do a couple other classic rides in the spaces left by DoT and the bungees. I know my little guy would be delirious to have a ferris wheel to ride at KI. It's still his favorite ride! deb
  10. I've had cracked ribs, 3 at once, all on the same side, with a cracked shoulder blade. I'd rather give birth unmedicated than go through that again. I can't imagine the pain those riders were in. deb
  11. Oh wow. How terrible. My thoughts are with the family. Who'd think that a FERRIS WHEEL could cause such tragedy. deb
  12. This is the first year we have ever had season passes, much less gold ones. We got the gold simply because I ordered them just before the season started. Otherwise, mine would be blue, too. Anyway, I really don't see any distinction between reg and gold passes short of the double ride and speed lanes. And while we could have, we chose not to use those features. The one thing that COULD have made it better was to have parking included on the pass, instead of forking over $35. But it was a steal nonetheless. We went about 10 times this year. Excluding gas, that made each trip about $9.50 per person (admission only). Is there another park with 14 coasters, 5 great shows, and the best kiddie park in the world (imo) that you can get into for less than $10? Not hardly. My guess is now, since school is starting again, there will be much less crowd at the park, so you're almost sure of a walk on, esp during weekdays. deb
  13. This just makes for more bad press for Amusement/theme parks. First the accidents, and now this. There is good news in this, that the guy is now off the street and can't harm any more children. I just pray that his victims get the psychological help they need to overcome this. deb
  14. I find the statement on the webcam site funny... the current pic is from Action FX theater(looking out towards park & racers)... but the caption is this: deb
  15. Just wanted to make a request.... If anyone happened to take any pics of Firehawk in flight, AFTER the first 2 trains ran, I'd like to see them. We were on the 3rd train (I believe) and I'd like a pic of us if anyone has one. We've not purchased the ORP because my face is always screwed up.. LOL. Thanks in advance! deb
  16. Nice videos. I saw a lot of my head, and Casey. And as we were exiting the FoF tour, you and my brother in law almost had a head on collision.... *boom* deb
  17. Oh, yeah, I think I saw it on a youtube video. It looks cool, wish they could do something like that to Top Gun and lengthen it. deb
  18. You know, that was the first thing I noticed, that someone else had on the same tee shirt as Casey. He was VERY hot, so he cut the sleeves out of his before we left our room at the Kirkwood Inn. About 80% of his shirts have ended up that way.... deb In case anyone is wondering what I am doing, I was trying to figure out where to put my lanyard... Casey put his down his shirt. I tried it, wasn't comfy. I was afraid I'd have a bruise or cut from the metal clip if I did that. Then I saw someone loaded up on FH and saw theirs landed perfectly under the waist restraint so it wouldn't move, so I left it out. Oh, and I had to take my butterfly birkenstocks off, for fear I was going to lose them. Instead my feet nearly came out of the restraints because I was barefoot. weird.
  19. she had on an orange-ish shirt too, right? Somehow we were always right together for almost every tour. weird! deb
  20. I was wondering if you got to ride it. I think you were in front of us as we were exiting the PT after the Ice Show and I overheard you saying you were going to go ride it. Correct me if I am wrong. deb
  21. Look, it's me, in the corner. and that's Casey (trans_am_1981, my hubby) right next to me, and my sister in law in the blue shirt, and my brother in law in the Coors Light shirt! great pics btw! deb PS, I am keeping a copy of that if it's ok
  22. TYVM!!!!!!! I found the "inappropriate gesture" pic I was wanting. it's #52 of 4460 if you wanna see it. I am in front of the guy in the yellow shirt, a little to the right with my arm up. I was laughing my head off, but you can't see it in that pic. deb
