I wore Adidas while pregnant... talk about comfy.. 10 years ago! I have a hard time finding comfy shoes for myself because I've got a killer arch... the side of my foot BARELY even touches ground. I've got to have something with an arch. On Sun I wore my Nike tennis shoes. BAD decision. I was in so much pain my the time I got home I could barely walk. I wear Birkenstocks 24/7/365(6). I LOVE my Birks. Nothing better, esp at KI. I've got to get my new ones worn in, they've got a backstrap so I can keep them on. When I rode Firehawk at the KIC VIP thingy in august I had to take my shoes off... and I felt like my legs MIGHT fly out from under the leg supports... deb

And no music on Top... errr... Flight Deck (blah) *twitch* That kills me, no music. Even if it IS Cotton Eyed Joe on the train.... Makes me want to take my own mp3 player! deb

I got curious about how it's gonna be when I saw the girls' tees in the shops with The Crypt on it... Skulls and Crossbones, "Drop Dead Gorgeous"... spooky, lets hope! deb

That's what we saw the MOST of, employees, BLACK clothed security officers walking right past a smoker. It's not like it's THAT hideable. You could smell it from afar... But I assume that the girl that was pulled off The Vortex for a moment was where they were headed, as we were at the Juke Box getting Ice Cream (in 50 degree weather... brrr) and watching to see if Vortex was EVER gonna run again... we heard she had a stomach upheaval, but the First Aid was coming, so I made an assumption that it was more than that... why would you vomit on the lift hill, anyways? deb

And thank the heavens it WAS changed.. no more accidental "reach and grab"s... happens all the time, more often than not, especially later in the season. deb

The biggest thing we saw were people smoking EVERYWHERE in the park. I'm not a smoker, although I grew up in a smoking household and I'm the only person in my WHOLE family that doesn't. I can't handle the smell of smoke and I appreciate the fact that KI is trying to cut smoking back to designated areas (which I avoid). I don't care if patrons smoke, I just don't want to have to breathe it if I don't have to. And the other thing we noticed was that almost NONE of the token or change machines were working. Almost everyone of them had the light on. We could've had an Elmo with a block from the Action Theater but, alas, no tokens in the machine. The Gold pass parking is IMMEDIATELY to the left when you get through the parking gates. There is a sign, but it's not large nor noticeable, and I can see how if you didn't KNOW to look for it, you wouldn't see it at all. If you turn in there, go straight down and you'll see the parking lot attendant checking your pass. deb

Area drivers share strategies for pain at the pump.
deb replied to Cory Butcher's topic in Kings Island
I drive a 1995 F-150 4x4 with a 6"lift and 34" Micky Thompsons...I don't even pay attention to the cost of gas...this is my vehicle of choice..If gas gets to $5 a gallon..I will still drive my truck Oh, I'm not saying to change your car because of gas prices. We just got a 1990 Chevy Stepside Dually with a 454 and 44"s on it, and it gets TERRIBLE gas mileage, but we drove it four hours straight to get it home. My truck (1984 Chevy Longbed, 44's, 350, 350 turbo) gets horrible mileage and used to drive it to work. My Nova doesn't do much better. But if you're looking for less pain at the pump, then yeah, get a 4 cyl with a stick. deb -

Area drivers share strategies for pain at the pump.

My solution: buy a car/truck/whatever with a 4 cylinder in it, make it a 5 or 6 speed, and learn to drive a stick. I've got a Tracker with a 5 speed 4 cylinder in it, and it takes maybe a half tank to get there and back (1.5 hr drive), and it's fun to be spontaneous and take the top off! (it's a convertible) We did that one weekend last year on a whim, and it RAINED the whole time we were gone, and the top isn't portable... WOOOO it was great! deb -
I was looking for a Top Gun tee shirt, and came across this on eBay... thought it was interesting! http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-KIngs-Island-The-...1QQcmdZViewItem deb

my two favs got the brunt of the beating... The CRYPT???? what, is there gonna be an animated cryptkeeper there now too???? geez! and FLIGHT DECK?!?!?! wth! You'd they'd at least be original about it. with either or any of them. Invertigo is a ripoff of every other boomerang coaster identical to Face/Off... geez. You'd think they'd have some advertising ppl somewhere with better ideas! And you know, next season, you'll be able to walk up to anywhere and say: which way to (insert paramount name here) and the guys/girls will still tell you. Man, I'm so ****ed now! I need a break! deb

I'd be delirious to see Pepsi at ki. it sucks walking around pining for a dew... even when you know they are in the cooler in the car but you don't wanna walk all that way... be a dream come true! deb

I <3 TR:TR... I hope it stays and is as good as day 15 (once it got broken in) when it reopens in '08!!! deb

Two Face Stalls at SFA
deb replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If look at the pic on the first link, it says it stalled on the lift. The video also said that the riders were stuck facing down (backwards), so it sounds like the brake stuck or something. So much for 4 secs! deb -
I'm not convinced about either... I've never seen chain link fencing at KI. And that shoot the chute ride? keels keelboat canal or whatever?? I are confuzzled. deb

HUH? When's "FearFest"??? deb

My hubby rode DUT a few times this past year and got stuck every time. The one time I rode it, back in 94, I think, I almost drowned. deb

Why can't we be happy with what we've got for the time being, and enjoy it? Save all the chatter for the days following an official release. deb

My 5 year old would prob get a kick out of it... but nonetheless, he won't be attending... What can I say? Like mother like son! And this stuff is barely more than the carnival "freak shows" of yesteryear... And human curiosity. Like everyone has said, can't make everyone happy, that's why there is a disclaimer, and if it's too weird for ya, don't watch! deb

i didn't see any dead guys in the old sob trains Me either.... But I think the pic in question is number 3... and I THINK that green thing is actually wings from a plane... not SOB trains... cause weren't they red/yellow? deb

It would be neat to see them utilize that section for Halloween Haunt.... it's already dark, dank, and dreary... deb

Halloween Will Be Scariest Ever, Park Officials Warn
deb replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
I've never been to a FearFest or anything of the sort, so this is gonna be new for me. I surely hope no ghoul tries to touch me or my hubby in any way, shape, or form, else they'd more than likely get their lights knocked out! Last haunted thing I have been to was when I was a child, say, 8. I don't scare that easily... so we'll see. deb -
If I remember correctly, it has always done that. It's not necessarily a "scrape" as it is a positioning.. since it swings, they have to put in a "blocked" position to keep the cars from swinging while entering/exiting. Sure, it bumps a bit right there, but it has to to get lined up. deb
