  1. I never have understood why some people are so proud of being illiterate. Or maybe it's just laziness. I'm not "proud" of it im just get mad when someone tells me to fix my spelling or grammer. Its my weekend and i want to do what i want and how i want to. Im not that good at gramer and im not proud of it ok. Also im good at it when i want to be, i have plaques in my room that read: 2003 - 2004 Proficient porfolio, 2007 - 2008 proficient portfolio and i plan on getting my 2012- 2013 proficient portfolio and are award for getting it is going to KI BTW. Sorry. It was just that saying "i'm not downloading the spell check thing so hardy har har" makes it sound like you could NOT care less about the rules of this forum and are rubbing our noses in it. Spelling isn't everyone's strong suit. All we ask is that an effort is made. It is harder to read a post with no punctuation or proper spelling and people will tend to ignore you especially if they think that you are doing it on purpose. If you don't feel like making the effort, I would suggest that you find a forum that doesn't have the same TOS as ours if you want to be taken seriously.
  2. Does it count as line-jumping if there is no one in line and you duck under the bars instead of going to the end of each row to save a little bit of walking? If it does, then I have line-jumped. But I never cut in front of another park guest.

  4. Does that include line-jumping, throwing trash on the ground and cursing in front of young children too?
  5. I think she was referring to all of the "Yeah, I heard someone got thrown off the loop on SOB, Vortex, etc. and died" rumors that have been heard around the park while we stand in line for a ride.
  6. Rex, you just started this topic to cause trouble. You are making statements with the sole purpose of antagonizing people. I don't know if they are even your belief or not and I don't think it matters. It's pretty clear that you are just saying them to try and start an argument. Please go have your fun on some other board.
  7. Do we know what the timeline was? Were they at SF at the time that the hurricane was hitting their home? I could understand that if the storm hadn't hit their home yet they might be needing to get away for awhile. That being said, I do agree with Woofer that taking a seriously ill infant to an amusement park in the heat was not the best choice.
  8. They were concerned about their belongings. But if there was nothing to do but wait and see what happened, wouldn't you want something to distract you? What good is sitting and worrying if there is absolutely nothing you can do to affect the outcome?
  9. " and there's the worker who was killed retrieving a hat at Seaside in New Jersey, and that's just off the top of my head. " Am I the only one who saw this? I didn't think it was intended, but with Interpreter, you never know.
  10. The death knell of the English language.
  11. Interpreter....often imitated but never equaled.
  12. I would prefer not to see anyone making out in the park, but someone giving another person a quick kiss or anything is fine. Now flame me all you want, but two men or two women giving each other a kiss is more disturbing than a man and woman making out to me. But that's my personal opinion and I am in no way trying to stir anything up or anything. I had no intent to flame you. Just expressing my opinion, too. You expressed yours in a mature way and I appreciate that. I wish more people could do that. And Terpy...for as many times as I have snickered at those who have fallen into your trap, I had not expected to be one of them.
  13. You're right. And I should have known better. I've been on this forum long enough to know your pet peeve. I apologize.
  14. "Many straights don't find two men or two women making out appealing, and I do not have any statistics to back this up, but I'm assuming the majority of park guests are these straights who don't want to see it." You know what they say about assuming, right? I'm straight but I could care less about who I see holding hands or kissing in the park as long as they don't cross that line into a vulgar display. Keep the tongue-sharing and groping in private. Otherwise, I have no issue with it.
  15. A quick exit from the park doesn't mean that you won't still sit in the parking lot for an hour waiting for the traffic to move. I just take my time leaving because I've seen the traffic jam they have every year on the fourth.
  16. It's better that he learn early and with parental punishment than with a juvie record.
  17. You ever think about mentioning your brother's "problem" to your parents before he gets caught and arrested?
  18. I went two years ago on the 4th. People don't stake out a spot for the fireworks till about an hour beforehand. The lines will be fairly long. Firehawk- 1 1/2 hours, Backlot- 45 min to an hour if I had to guess. Most of the rest, 1/2 hour or so. It'll be like a busy Saturday.
  19. They've been given free run of the park but I don't think too many will head to BB. They probably won't want to carry a change of clothes all day.
  20. My son's 8th grade class is going down for their last day of school. I don't know if the other two Centerville middle schools do the same thing or not. They'll be down from 10:30 to 7:00
  21. It would only hit the news if Karen contacted them. From what I have seen on these boards, Karen is a class act and would only make this a public relations issue if the park refused to repair damage that they had caused. I would have lost patience long before eight MONTHS. My hat is off to you, Karen.
  22. Yeah, I don't undertand what happened? I tried searching for the post but could not find it. As I remember, she was in one of the Halloween Haunt attractions and her chair got stuck somehow. Some park employees tried to free it and broke something on the chair. That would make it the park's responsibility to pay for since it's representatives (employees) were the ones who caused the damage. It is ridiculous that the park would take 8 months to repair the damage. I wonder if management or KI's insurance company tried to get out of paying.
  23. Thank you Coasters. That was the answer I was looking for. One of my son's classes is studying taxes and finances which is what brought the question up in the first place. Much appreciated.
  24. Does the same sales taxes apply to all the food places in the park? Or do you have to pay the tax only in someplace like Festhaus or Wings and the other places like Skyline are considered carryout? My son is going with his class in a couple of weeks and we are trying to figure out how much money to send with him. It's more of a curiosity question than anything else since I'll obviously send enough money for him to eat with, but we were wondering.
  25. Thanks everyone for the info. I knew they usually had a sign in the park advertising it so I was hoping someone who had gone already had seen it. With only $4 between the Starlight admission and online tickets for the whole day, I will probably end up just buying the general admission tickets. Thanks Bodda for the suggestion to wait till plans are announced. I'm in no hurry to buy the tickets so I will hold off for now.
