  1. Maybe he can bring in Gordon Ramsay to help turn things around! He has a way of getting through to people
  2. Hello all! I am a new poster! And I do believe that they are sand blasting to get ready to paint it. They need to get all the old chipped paint off to make the new paint smooth. Welcome! There are a lot of great people on this forum, so dont be afraid to say anything..even Terpy ("The Interpreter" on here) likes to do some good-natured ribbing!
  3. Have a little sympathy for poor Ned! He just lost his second wife!
  4. The motorS perform fine and "stress on the motorS" would not be the reason they don't extend the ride cycle. You want to know why they dont extend the cycle? Because it's fine as is and the general public would not notice the difference. Delirium and Maxair are more less the exact same ride. Minus some small differences. Again, the motorS have performed as expected and waiting on a motor from Germany was not the reason for its extended downtime in years past. I'm referring to the ride's downtime from sev seasons ago. At the time, I recall the park saying that it was awaiting a new motor from Huss. Extra stress was also why they tamed Crypt just a few weeks after it opened after its retheme.
  5. Delirum being a Giant Frisbee, it would add more stress to the motor to extend its cycle to match its smaller cousin at CP. Delirium has experienced extended downtime in recent seasons as the park awaited parts from Germany (for its motor), so I'm guessing the park would like to keep the downtime to a minimum.
  6. In which case my vote goes towards any of the restrooms featuring the dyson air blade dryers..much more sanitary (and less costly to the park) than paper towels. Prob the WindSeeker restrooms get my vote since they're the newest.
  7. Don also did mention that perhaps some coaster clubs would be invited to media day for Banshee as well, so if KIC is in the running for one of those invites, no need to spoil things by trespassing like a certain other member did earlier this season.
  8. It's hard for those Gods to make anyone pay when their arms are non functioning
  9. Technicaly no, because that is park property, which is now closed to the public for the season. You would need special permission from the Park to do so. I'm sure Don will post plenty of pics in the offseason from close in, so no need to risk arrest to get a pic from hundreds of feet away.

    Trams?

These days resurfacing can be done at relatively low cost. At my former job, road crews used what they called a "mill and fill" technique, where a machine was first brought in to reduce the entire road surface down to its base..after that it was smoothed over, then finally repaved and sealed. Its a lot more cost effective than simply layering another coat of aspahlt on top of the current lot. Asphalt lasts on average about 10 years in midwest weather. If KI wanted to upgrade and repave the whole lot using concrete, the lifespan would increase to about 20 years. If theyre going to spruce up Action Zone next year, I hope they can spruce up the first thing guests encounter when entering the property as well!

    Trams?

can you imagine putting the trams back without repaving the parking lot? They would be reduced to buckets of bolts by mid season! I'm hoping Mr. Ouimet can dedicate some nickels this offseason towards resurfacing that moonscape they call a parking lot.
  12. I miss the soundtrack playing in the que and sttaion and the fog effect when you came back in from the ride. Im sure thre ride ops got sick of hearing 'Danger Zone' 500x a day! I think a refresh and rename as The Bat would be welcome! Now if only the park could address the filthiness of The Racer tunnel as you reenter the staton..heck, I'd donate the paint!
  13. Lots of good stuff on the horizon for WDW--Star Wars expansion, Soarin 2.0, some type of Monsters Inc dark ride (maybe a clone of the flying doors coaster DL is getting), renovation of DTD to Disney Springs, etc..as Walt envisoned, the place should be ever-changing and evolving to keep up with the times.
  14. Said rumors are gaining more steam according to my sources. The idea is to eliminate the Honey I shrunk... playground as well as a good deal of the backlot tour in order to make way for it. The actual canyon would be utilized in some new form. I hope they at least preserve Walt's plane from the 50s-60s.
  15. I miss the black windbreakers they gave away sev years ago for getting a gold pass.
  16. Methinks a lot of extra merchandise was ordered earlier this season that didn't sell..hence the giveaway!
  17. If Dan needs some cash down the road (and I'm sure he will, given his law practice is nil), I can see him selling chunks to Lori for the going rate until Lori gets just about complete control.
  18. The Indiana Court of Appeals has sided with Lori Koch: http://www.indystar.com/article/20131003/BUSINESS/310030044/Appeals-Court-sides-widow-Holiday-World-ownership-dispute Dan may now request transfer to the Indiana Supreme Court, which takes one out of every 100 civil cases or so. Here is the full opinion: http://www.in.gov/judiciary/opinions/pdf/10031306pdm.pdf
  19. They are very much in demand and have lots of gigs booked throughout the year. They are def a fun band, but if KI would like to have them for next year, they should contact them soon. They are from Indy.
  20. same for me, but Disney isnt dumb enough to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. I dont forsee the Magicband replacing fastpass. Now, for purchases and restaurant reservations, it's great! Sync w your smartphone or a kiosk at the park and voila--off you go.
  21. That's changed then since I was there last in April. I hope the Magic Band rollout happens soon. I dont think it will be as bad as some are saying. Disney keeps saying it wont supersede the regular fastpass, just that you can make advance reservations for 3 attractions. Just a way to spread more people around the park evenly.
  22. Frank Wells, former CFO at the Walt Disney Co. died the same way. He was Eisner's right hand man.
  23. the tradeoff is you are limited in where you can sit. I dont believe the west wing is open for lunch, but then again there are rooms open for lunch that are not open for dinner.
  24. I am planning to go in Jan (MLK wknd) and was just searching for reservations for BOG (since ill be with my 6 yr old this time)..lo and behold they had availability each night I'm there (albeit around 9). However...go to the check in desk at the base of the castle if you want to eat earlier and ask if they can get you in before then..no guarantees, but they will try and make it happen. Not knowing our exact plan at this time, I went ahead and reserved a time for each night..be aware, though that your reservation must be tied to a CC and if you dont show, you are charged $10.
  25. Like the avatar - BTW hows that formerly star attraction running now? Not tip top anymore is it? Yes, surf dog isnt as bright and shiny as when it opened, but it still gives the same fun ride it always has.
