  1. The trains are on site, didnt you see the thread under the Kings Island section? Video and all The Rick Roll jokes must die.
  2. Looks Like the crane has to move back to install anymore supports.
  3. *idea lightbulb* Wouldn't that be cool if on KICentral 3rd Coming we could be the first to sit in the trains?
  4. ^I asked him to please move the webcam and explain why there were more yellow supports then in the Concept Art, so far he has not answered....
  5. Can't you scheduale Marathon Rides where you don't even get out you just ride over and over and over?
  6. I can't wait to see what they do today! Actually 74 Degrees is pretty darn steep. 16 Degrees from vertical, that's steep.
  7. Uh, there are only 10. But Flight Deck is one of the better ones. http://www.rcdb.com/ir.htm?model=110 From what I've heard though Big Bad Wolf rules.
  8. I got what I wanted, they moved the webcam! Now all he has to do is explain the massive amount of yellow supports....
  9. Yay they moved the webcam! And from the looks of it it looks like they are about to install the track piece sitting on the right.
  10. Dont count on that being there much longer due to all the questions Don has been asked in his E-Mail questions. I know of about 3 or 4 people that have asked him to move the webcam with a better view on the lift hill construction including me. I asked him that, make it 5 Kid, you can believe and say what you want. All I will say is that perspective is very deceiving. True, but I have a hard time believing that the last real drop in the coaster is almost as big as the one 3 drops before it. Wouldn't that mean there are 7 Drops over 100 feet? It's about 50 to 60 feet.
  11. Let's hope FUN does well, the more nickels they get the more nickels they can invest in things like Diamondback and other future major attractions!
  12. Uh...Terpy weighing in. Stealth aka Borg: The Assimilator aka Nighthawk is my favorite of the three Vekoma flying coasters...by far. I actually prefer ANY of the three to any US B & M flying coaster except Tatsu. And I have ridden the US flying coasters far, far more than your average coaster enthusiast (of which I no longer count myself, and haven't for years). Opinions differ. That all being said, I see Diamondback, as I have said many, many times before, as a sterling addition to Kings Island, one that is going to greatly increase the thrills in the park, the happy delight of the riders and will change the skyline of Kings Island for many, many happy years to come. Gosh Terpy I can barely even imagine you riding coasters but from the experience you offer you must have ridden a ton!
  13. Not even close. The Crypt's building is about 90 feet tall. Like I said, about 50 or 60 feet.
  14. Do you not go to school that often? Or does your school just start super late? The post i just quoted and many of your other posts are posted on weekdays around 9am-1pm. Or do you just post at school? Sorry to get off topic.. Beast1979, didn't your mom block KIC on the home computer? No worries, I've resolved the situation...
  15. That Next Support is HUGE! I think they're gonna install the next piece of lift track tomorrow.
  16. At Kings Island the park doesn't fill up untill Haunt begins. At Cedar Point, it's filled ALL DAY!
  17. It's not under the "Black Hat" anymore! I can't wait to see how this shapes up!
  18. The updates are so much easier to read on an LG Voyager Great Service you guys!
  19. Yea, the last drop into the splashdown is a little over 100 feet tall. While it is pretty impressive sounding, from an engineering and design standpoint, it just shows how much more B&M could have done w/ the design of Diamondback. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely excited about Diamondback, but w/ the site's topography, B&M could have designed something truly spectacular and unique - not just a Behemoth/Nitro lovechild. There are 6 drops over 100 feet. That means the drop out of the MCBs is the last 100 foot drop. From looking at the concept art and the size of the drop relative to other Rivertown objects it looks like about 50 feet into the splashdown. It's actually pretty hard to work the coaster into the topography, most of the terrain out there is very dramatic and difficult to work with, they actually had to smooth out the ravine to get it to work. (Which, by the way, allows the second drop to be 193 feet, and the 6th drop to be over 100 feet) And I am kinda getting tired of people calling this a Behemoth/Nitro lovechild or ripoff. Not only has it not even opened yet, but it also has 6 drops over 100 feet and 2 drops near or over 200 feet, a splashdown, and it actually has a THEME. Not to mention the location of this ride is excelently placed, the first drop catapulting towards the Crypt's que and a helix over the pathway, not like Nitro where they just ploped it in a forest.
  20. But a mosquito-infested lake has character that a B&M hyper could never build. Like what? Tolerence to Pain? Yea, I guess your right, getting bit by mosquitos is such a better way to spend your time then riding a smooth, fast B&M Hyper.
  21. From the Diamondback Blog: Did you know? October 11, 2008 Construction of Diamondback began one year ago today when workmen removed a tree on the far side of Swan Lake near the International Showplace Theater. - Don Helbig
