  1. ^In PETA's view, yes it would. As would seeing-eye dogs, dogs used to herd animals, animal actors, sled dogs, etc... Sea World does a lot of good in conservation, rehabilitation and education. This is just another ploy by PETA to get themselves in the limelight again.
  2. Those are people who can't follow the rules and need to be taken out.
  3. Wow... you just can't win with us scareactors/screamsters, MF2000CMH. You made PhantomTheater resentful by saying Bayou was better than Terror Island, and then in reading this TR I noticed you didn't come to Slaughter House to pay your repects to Sam the Butcher. I know he would have popped out and said hi to you if he had seen you!
  4. ^And I'll do my usual last train on Beast.
  5. And I feel that Phantom Theater felt cheap / stripped of personality compared to what that building was as Enchanted Voyage (and even Smurf's Enchanted Voyage, although I liked it better in its original version). I can certainly understand how a lot of people feel the same way as you about Phantom Theater though, especially if that's what you grew up with as many posters here did. No disrespect meant to all the PT lovers out there (personally I liked it but didn't love it), I'm just old enough to remember when the attraction in that building was a lot better.
  6. You better be careful. You know what Mama's like when she gets angry!
  7. And yet ZakkSpadeZ and I, as well as a few others in Slaughter House, have scared thousands of people with them this year. So yeah, they're not scary at all.
  8. And where am I going to be able to sink paddle boats in a lazy river in the middle of winter, causing my family and me to go for an unexpected swim? For the uninitiated, more on that story can be found here: http://www.KICentral...ndpost&p=261306 To be fair, we did go to Holiday Fest again the following year on New Year's Eve and had a good time... and the paddle boats were no longer there. I must say that I'm not really all that surprised to see it go though. Festival of Lights is better (and so was Winterfest back in the day)... but Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas is the best! Hard to believe it's only a few more weeks until we go down for that!
  9. ^Yeah, I remembered you. I don't know how, since it was just about a year ago that we met and I'm usually terrible with names & faces. I think what made you stand out was that you took one of my favorite pictures of Sam, the one with Mama & Bubba. So yes, when I said to you on Friday, "I know you're staying for dinner!", I knew who you were. I love using the tactic I used on you Saturday. Lure people into a false sense of security, and just when you think nothing's going to happen... BAM!, here comes Sam! We can take breaks if we want, but I only take about 5-10 minutes each night. Just enough to get some fresh air and get off my feet for a few. I just like scaring to be gone from there for too long, and I don't want to miss anyone I might know.
  10. That's true. When I worked Admissions, there was one time that I was at the front gate that the woman came up to Guest Relations to get her ticket in for the day. When I heard that she was there, I just had to get a look at the person who came up with the name. It seems such a simple thing to combine Kings Mills and Coney Island, but I don't know that I would have thought of it. Kudos to her for thinking of that as a little girl.
  11. I've seen people do that in there and I'm not a fan of it. I wouldn't like someone to blow their stinky breath on me and possibly get inadvertently spit on. There's a ton of other ways to get people's attention. That's quite alright. I also like the fog on the bridge in Tombstone. When you came through Slaughter House on Friday you didn't get the full effect of the room, so when I saw you from my hiding spot on Saturday I had to make up for that! City Beat came out with their review of Haunt:http://www.citybeat....ween_haunt.html I don't agree with them 100%, but then again I am a little biased...
  12. ^He was Vice President of Finance at PKI, then moved to Kings Dominion to become their General Manager.
  13. ^Agreed! That's why I put: Let's hope not too many people from the GP read this topic. We need to just keep it amongst ourselves so there's no line!
  14. As I understand it you would have to be back in the park before 7:00, since there is no re-entry during Haunt. Also, there is no Wall of Monsters on Saturdays, it's only on Friday nights.
  15. I don't have as many "best kept secrets" at KI as I do at WDW, but I'd say probably high on the list is taking the time to relax and feed the fish in Oktoberfest. GatorGirl and I like to do that in between rides and shows. Also, even though it's known to many of us on here but not widepread among the GP, Adventure Express is a great night ride.
  16. See this topic: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24655 Specifically posts 5, 11 & 21.
  17. So jealous! When we went in July, Forbidden Journey was a 90 minute wait in 90+ degree heat & humidity. It was worth it, because it replaced Spidey as my favorite dark ride. The line for butterbeer was 30 minutes long, so we skipped that. I had my first ride on Mummy this year too, and like you I didn't know what to expect. Just wow... great ride! I really need to make it back down to BGT, it's been 14 years. Just waiting for GatorGirl to get taller... Thanks for sharing, sounds like you had a great time!
  18. It seems that you are correct. Although since reading your correction I've run my sentence through several grammar checking progams online and most didn't see a problem with it. Only one of them said that it "should probably be the singular 'was'". Then I looked online for the rule and there is much debate on grammar forums (grammar forums? Who knew such a thing existed? But then their members would probably say the same thing about us and our amusement park forums!) about was vs. were in combination with implied plurality and prepositional clauses. But overall, the rules/debates lean slightly in favor of what TombraiderTy says: it should be was. Let's just say that my head now hurts after reading those debates!
  19. As a courtesy to those of us that appreciate reading proper English, I have translated coasterfreak22108's post just above this one. I have also shown my work. Original: On the 1st a group of us was walking by the exit of BBoBH and there was like 4 girls and a guy that we was right behind you could tell they were scared. We was walking fast then them and on the was by my brother yelled RUN with an evil voice I swear 2 of the girls peed their pants. It was entirely too hard to read in its original state.
  20. Glad to see you enjoyed yourself. It's a nice little park, and ever since I first visited last year I try to make it at least once a year.
  21. ^I was thinking the same thing, or 2013. I just didn't want to stir the big giant pot of conspiracy.
  22. Nice article. I went there for the first time this past April with several other KICers, and it was a great park. I'm looking forward to my next trek out there, whenever that may be, and to taking the family out there once GatorGirl gets a little taller.
  23. Oh, if only I could hear that organ playing again, but I'm not in that audience of one.
  24. I'm the same way. Kindle? No thanks, I'll keep my paperbacks. MP3s? Maybe, but I rather like my CD collection. I have that episode on VHS... maybe I should upgrade to DVD before it's too late.
