Screechin Eagle demolished
XGatorHead 8904 replied to jandyb79's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This is truly heartbreaking. Screechin' Eagle was the lone highlight in my god-awful, one and only trip to Lesourdsville Lake. It was a true classic, such a wonderful John Miller coaster... One more reason to dislike Jerry Couch even more than I already do.- 23 replies

im kinda wanting to know what this was, as im a little confused now... EssentiallyCoaster had posted that your "KIC Star Member" was backwards, thinking that it was because of the change.

^That's the way rotag wanted it, so they did that for him. I don't know, I just got a new picture. It's almost that time of year for me to be switching it to Zombie Wally anyway!
-
Yeah, but now my usual avatar is distorted, and my Wally picture that I used for my profile pic is severely cropped so I can't use that. Looks like I'll have to find a new picture or play around with trying to resize the ones I have. EDIT: That's a little better, I'll play around some more.

^No wonder I couldn't find an option to change my avatar, only to change my profile pic!

The answer can be found in the wording. I'll bold the important parts: No. --Beatle, answering the question as asked. Beatle answered that not everyone has a problem with those parks. Some people do and some people don't, but you can't lump everyone into one of those groups. He didn't necessarily say that he personally did or did not. I was thinking that too. But since, according to Lance, Knott's has had a similar system in place since December, that would have been under Kinzel. It may have been Kinzel's idea to test FL at KI, or it could have been Ouimet, we don't know. But you are correct that Ouimet did say that in the interview.

And how much did they have to pay that Security person to sit there and watch that BB Preferred Parking area all day? With having a general idea of how much Security makes per hour, it was more than $40.

Ro, just click on the circle or star to the left of the topic name and it does the same thing as the orange arrow in the old software, bringing you to the next unread post.

^I agree, too much white. But Dane did say it's a work in progress and that the old skin will be returning, so I'll put up with it for now!

BB needs a water coaster next. Secondarily, I'd love to see something like Wet N Wild's Bomb Bay (although that might be a capacity nightmare).

If Superman: Escape From Krypton isn't a coaster, then neither is Wicked Twister. S:EFK is like one spike of WT, without the twist and not inverted. -
^Agreed. KI's parent swap program is wonderful and I would hate for anything to jeopardize it. Other parks could learn from it; KI's and WDW's are the best out of all the parks we've been to. Disney does it fairly similarly to KI (or at least they did when we last used it in 2008), except for there you tell the ride op at the beginning of the line that you are doing a parent swap, and they give you a ticket to give to the 2nd person (instead of having to pick up a form at GR like at KI). At Universal, the whole party must wait in line... kids and all... until the ride's loading area. From there, the first rider goes on, and the one staying with the kid goes to a waiting area. Then they meet in the waiting room and swap. While Uni had some nice waiting rooms in which the kids and parents wait while the other person's riding, the kid still has to wait in line. I felt bad for GatorGirl having to wait in line for Revenge of the Mummy (about 15 minutes) and Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey (90 minutes) and not being able to ride them. These are the only two that she couldn't ride that we made her wait for, because all of the other ones she wasn't tall enough for we had ridden before (with the exception of HRRR, on which I didn't fit the test seat so we didn't bother getting in line) and could go without doing on this trip.

New at Holiday World for 2012
XGatorHead 8904 replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I can't wait to ride Mammoth! I was debating whether to go to HWN again next year, but Mammoth has made up my mind for me. I love waterslides/water coasters, so I am thrilled by this announcement. I'm a little disappointed in everyone's disappointment too, but it doesn't surprise me at all. At least a few more people have commented that they like the addition though. I'd like to see their Halloween event next year, but with me working Haunt that makes it a little difficult. But you're right, it would be great to ride the coasters with the changing leaves, especially Raven since the trees are so close. I was thinking as I was reading this post that it doesn't sound like a KICoasterGirl post... I greatly thank them for that. During HWN the heat really got to me, and I ended up leaving the Voyage walkback earlier than everyone else and took a nice long nap at one of the air conditioned tables in the new PRC addition! Not everyone. I'm perfectly content that HW only has one steel coaster (that a lot of people forget about since it's not exactly a "thrill" coaster). It's just one more thing that makes it different from my home park of KI. I'm not saying that I'd be upset if HW did get a bigger one though... I guess that you're guessing along the same lines that I'm guessing. If my guess is the same as your guess and our guesses are correct, it may be hard to muddle through the coaster fanboy posts of disappointment. (Me, I'm not a coaster fanboy... I consider myself a park enthusiast). -

Just like if you buy a Fast Lane pass, there's no guarantee that that revenue will be used to get Kings Island new things. Oops, um, wait a minute... Gator, just havin' some FUN...

I dont see them going to RC even if they offer more nickels. RC is just not going to sell as good as Coke and Pepsi. They'd have to have their brain removed to sell a poor product like RC. No major businesses sell RC brand drinks. I suppose you wouldn't consider US Bank Arena a major business then, even though it is the home of the Cincinnati Cyclones and holds many major concerts and events in the city? See below:

Hershey SkyRush New for 2012

I wouldn't either. I was going to add "not that I think it will be open by then" but forgot to type that before I moved on to the next topic.
