Finally, someone posted it. I would love for the Eagles to return to KI. It's a mix of both a family attraction, and an enthusiast favourite.
-
I went to the park the past three nights (29th, 30th, and 31st) and the crowds were the lowest on Monday, and were slightly busier each night. That stated, the park was still very, very slow on Halloween - with walk-ons for every ride except Firehawk. Each maze had a maximum of 10-15 people in line throughout the evening. The bare bones nights were awesome, and if they are around next year I would highly recommend going. They will likely even be slower next year - with everyone required to have a purchased admission.
-
I bought my passes on the 30th, and we picked up our jackets at the same time. They only had large left, and appeared to be running out when we received ours.
-
I must of seen a number of you - my wife and I were on the second to last Beast train as well in the front seat. We had three front seat rides between 11:15 and 12:00. As well as two others earlier in the evening. We've had a great three day trip here, and excited to return again next season.

It's worthwhile mentioning that the past few nights at least KI is clearing out fudge at huge discounts. On select flavors it's buy one - get one free, and the price per brick is only $3.00. That works out to be $1.50 per brick, which is incredibly cheap. There are two locations - Fudge and Fun in Coney Maul, and the Fudge store right off of I-Street. They are also clearing out all bulk candy at $0.99 per pound (although there is not much left.) I just wish they would clear out some merchandise.

The Barebones Park map lists the following attractions as open: The Beast Firehawk Vortex The Italian Job Flight of Fear Drop Zone Delerium The mazes are the five listed above. Red Beards Revenge Massacre Manor Club Blood Carn Evil Death Row However, I went yesterday (Monday - 29th) and both Tombstone Terror-tory, and Trail of Terror were open. All of the fear zones were closed.

With the sale do you think we will ever see this VH1 content again on QTV? I know I will miss it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03PXUD5uBAQ What will you miss from Paramount's Kings Island?
-
Oh really? Last time I checked "WEREwolf Canyon" was located in the trench of Thunder Canyon which is still open at CP.
-
I second this, as I was told the same by a tram driver back in 2004. It was from a female, so that would be at least two employees with that opinion.

Surely you realize that the 1st of October is a Saturday. PKI will be closed this Friday (Setember 30th)

Great Wolf Lodge Breaks Ground on 8-18
Screwball replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Coming Attractions
Here is a picture from this past Wednesday. I still can't believe the campground is gone. -
Will not happen. There are other facilities in the park that will be used for the haunts.
-
Tunnel for the Subway, sorta like this (From the same day of pictures)?

I stayed at the campground twice last season, once in June for 5 days, and in August for another 5. It's one of the only ways I can come from Canada and spend a good amount of time at the park without accomodation costs breaking the bank. Plus it's so conveniant being that close to the park, when you get hungry at lunch or dinner you can catch the trolley back to the campground cook up some food and head back. While it's nice to stay in a hotel, their is such a great feeling about being so close to the park and waking up to the sounds of SOB flying down the first hill.

Looks like the campground may be open next year. If you look on the PKI website under jobs it shows that they are hiring a campground associate. If they were not planning on having the campground up and running why would they be hiring someone for this. http://www.pki.com/jobs_description.jsp?view=781 Campground Associate Apply Today! I would like to see if there is anything different about the campground area. Whether they have removed anything that would point to it not opening up next season.

New Pics of the PCW construction. December #1 December #2 December #3 December #4 Looks like they have all of the footers completed which are shown in all of the pictures. As well as alot of concrete work done which is likely going to be for the undergroung subway scene. Can anyone place what the steel structure in #3 and #4 is for? It doesn't look like it will be supports for the track, It could be the supports for the theming for the helicopter scene before the final launch. We will know soon how PKI's construction is going compared to PCW's.

Trust me we are not getting a Tornado at PCW. We already have a funnell slide, it's completely horizontal unlike Tazzy. I already talked about this in this thread. Click

I was told in the summer from management at the campground that PKI won't close the campground until one at a new location is opened up. It seems unlikely that they will have a new one built for next season unless they have already started construction. The spot that was mentioned for a new location is out behind the greenhouses in a vacant area past SOB and Top Gun. Considering I stayed for two - one week stays at the campground last summer this would effect me greatly if it closed. There is no bettter way to stay close to the park, and being able to come and go from the park via the tram is great. Hopefully PKI looks out for their guests first and has a faciltly open before taking the money from Great Wolf Lodge.

Tomb Raider: The ride should be a pay per ride... and I mean PCW should pay me for riding the thing. All kidding aside it's free for all park guests, I only rode it twice last season in my 25 visits. To be honest I don't quite know about the capacity as both times I rode I did so when the queue was near empty. However anytime I walked by all summer long there was a huge line-up that extended beyond the entrance. Whether it was due to the rides popularity among the GP or low capacity I would say both contributed. With only 4 people loading per car it's going to be slow. Sledgehammer is a real fun ride, it's not as intense as it looks but still great to ride. It makes you lose your stomach real hard on the first two drops, and abit on the third. It's not anything like Delirium in terms of intensity but nonetheless it's a great ride. If you want an great flat ride try out a Mondial TopScan sometime. Shockwave flings your body in every single direction, and gives you so many g's. PCW did switch the program late last season and I don't enjoy it as much as I used too however. For some great pics and video's of PCW take a look at Kevin Reids PCW Junkies.com

I'm not shocked at all to see the 30% increase at PCW this year. It was definately visible in the park every time I went this past season. I would like to see PCW's annual attendence over the last five years to compare though. If you think back to the summer of 2003, Toronto was hit hard with the SARS crisis, which made alot of people afraid to go into public places. Every single attraction in the city was way down in tourism numbers, there was cheap deals on theatre, Blue Jays, etc etc... I would bet money that PCW's attendence from 2003 was well below the normal for the park. Therefore the 30% increase is really just bouncing back to normal from a very sub-par year. The SARS thing is long in the past and this year there was nothing to keep people from enjoying a great day at the park. TR:TR (Zamperla Volare) could of contributed to a increase in guests of just people thinking that a flying coaster is cool. Although once they ride it they may have a different form of thinking. One of the good things that the park did for next year is before the end of the past 2004 season they offered season passes for $50 CDN a person if two people or more purchased passes. That's going to make crowds insane for next year, especially with the expected marking campaign that will hit the air in the spring for IJST. Way to go PCW and PKI!
-
Don't ever wish that on yourself. TR:TR is a horrible coaster, I've ridden it twice and I doubt I will ever ride it again. It just pains me to see that pile of junk in my home park, especially since two good flat rides got removed for it's place.
